The Brothers Gibb have always considered what they write to be R&B. When Barry realized he could sing in falsetto, he already loved and respected the Stylistics and the Delfonics and wanted that same groove. And, man, did he find it.

It’s unlikely you can listen to this without seeing the brothers Gibb swinging fearlessly around a building site or John Travolta strutting down the urban catwalk, but at a few decades’ remove ‘Stayin’ Alive’ is an astonishing record even without the iconography. A peerless piece of disco drama that almost sent a career into parody - but hey, they sure got rich.
I subscribed because of your reaction. It's always classic to see people blown away by Barry's voice. Even his brother, Robin had a falsetto, but he rarely used it,
That ability to sing is called 'Falsetto' (head- and not chestvoice). And Barry Gibb is the only one ever, that matches it with this kinda brilliance! For excample on songs like 'Too Much Heaven' or 'Love You Inside Out'.

The Bee Gee's did the soundtrack to the John Travolta movie "Saturday Night Fever", Which John Travolta was dancing in about the disco era of the 70's. It was a good movie. The Bee Gee's are brothers that grew up in England and hear a lot of soul music of the 70's where you had soul singer's like Smokey Robinson, Eddie Kendricks of The Temptations, Al Green, Philip Bailey from the group Earth, Wind & Fire, Curtis Mayfield, The lead singer of The Stylistics who had pretty high Falsetto voices. Barry is the lead singer with his brothers Robin and Maurice. The song is from the movie “Saturday Night Fever” - with a young John Travolta... disco days!
Welcome to, in my estimation, the Bee Gees 3rd reincarnation in the mid to late 1970's. From child performers, to respected 60's rock & ballad writers & performers, to the dawn of Disco.
incredible melodies and beats. The music is uplifting. Unlike some music now that talk about women and men in very derogatory manner. Miss those days...less divisive. Disco was in and it was free flowing...

You’re right! You may have heard that drum section before. While they were recording this, their drummer had to leave town for a family emergency. To continue recording, they had the idea of looping the tape of two bars of drum beats from their song Night Fever and using it to make this consistent rhythm in Stayin’ Alive. They loved it so much they also used it in More Than a Woman (which has been trending on TikToc in recent months). Other bands also loved it and borrowed this innovative idea.

Check out, "Jive Talkin'" as just one.
Massachusetts is an absolute classic. So is Jive Talkin, and Too Much Heaven
They were born that way. High harmony throughout the family. If they all had normal voices no one would know them.
Barry is the lead singer and he is the oldest. The other two are Twins Robin & Maurice. They also had a baby brother Andy who was a solo singer but he died from drugs . They Three Brothers started out very young.
It's amazing how many people have not seen the movie Saturday Night Fever, all these songs are in the film. One of the greatest groups ever.
I think the soundtrack aged much better than the film.
you are so beautiful. Your smile is fantastic. Many kisses to you.
Barry is the lead singer with his brothers Robin and Maurice. The song is from the movie “Saturday Night Fever” - with a young John Travolta... disco days!
A really great song is" I want to know what love is ". The Group/ Band that sings this is Foreigner. A Very beautiful song
Welcome to, in my estimation, the Bee Gees 3rd reincarnation in the mid to late 1970's. From child performers, to respected 60's rock & ballad writers & performers, to the dawn of Disco.
Friday night at the disco... good times. Oh ,t was the ABC on Semoran... the one with the revolving dance floor.
Angela. You are so much fun to watch and listen to. Keep smiling that beautiful smile..
beegees impeccable. day one gorgeous AND w/o eye "make down". just beautiful!
incredible melodies and beats. The music is uplifting. Unlike some music now that talk about women and men in very derogatory manner. Miss those days...less divisive. Disco was in and it was free flowing...
2:34 "How'd he get up there? "
He's wearing 70s Cheap Hotel pants (no ballroom).
Some guys can hit those hi notes with no problem amazingly I still can. I haven't done it in years but hearing this song again I sang it and I still got it... But you should check out there other songs they have so many great hits
