The BeeGees were: the tallest and oldest brother (with the big hair and beard), Barry Gibb, born September 1, 1946, the only surviving Gibb brother. Robin Gibb (with the long hair, no beard), born December 22, 1949-passed away May 20, 2012, and Robin's fraternal twin brother Maurice (the balding brother with the beard, pronounced "Morris") Gibb, born December 22, 1949-passed away January 12, 2003. They also had another, younger, brother Andy Gibb, born March 5, 1958-passed away March 10, 1988. The three oldest brothers were born on the Isle of Man (UK). Oldest brother Barry got seriously burned when he accidentally pulled boiling tea over himself at 18 months old. He was in coma for a while, nearly died and was in hospital for many months. Because of this, he did not learn to talk until after the twins were born. Later the family moved to Manchester and from there they emigrated to Australia in 1958, right after Andy was born. All 4 brothers are just natural musical talents. All of them dropped out of high school in their early teens and none of them could read or write music. All their compositions were created completely organically. Their musical career, which they had started as little kids, didn't lead to international success so they moved back to the UK in 1966. Then they had a string of big hits, until they temporarily broke up around 1970 for 15 months. Started back up, looking for a new sound which they first found in 1974 with the transitional album "Mr. Natural". After that "Main Course" was the first album that moved them into a new direction: more rhythm&blues, dance music like with great hits like Nights on Broadway and Jive Talkin' (and was also actually the first album on which their logo was introduced). From 1976 on they went all out with falsetto driven dance music which lead to their biggest commercial success as they provided classic songs for the Saturday Night Fever Soundtrack (1977 Stayin' Alive, How Deep is Your Love, Night Fever amongst them). You should react to the 1979 live version of Stayin' Alive, too ua-cam.com/video/7niXSh7vWRI/v-deo.html Other great songs to analyze: great album tracks from the 1979 Spirits Having Flown album, the title song: ua-cam.com/video/WH_j90fCIk4/v-deo.html, the outrageously beautiful song Reaching Out ua-cam.com/video/vfHUS5Mf00Q/v-deo.html. And from the 1990's the simple song Blue Island live in an accoustic version: ua-cam.com/video/162GlAEpfrY/v-deo.html. Andy was kind of Barry's mini me, about half a foot shorter and 12 years younger but they were the only lefties of the family. However, his voice was nowhere near as broad in range or as strong as Barry's. As producer Alby Galuten said in the book "Tales of the brothers Gibb "Andy's falsetto was nowhere near Barry's." Andy had a lower, huskier, sound to his voice and his range was not as big as Barry's. I personally always thought his voice was much better suited to songs of his first album, Flowing Rivers. Andy died of myocarditis - which is an inflammation of the heart - on March 10, 1988, 5 days after his 30th birthday. His heart had been weakened by his drug addiction over the years which, by the way, was also the main reason for his split from Victoria Principal. He also had a congenital heart problem that was later also discovered in Barry and Barry's second son Ashley. @RNDReacts That’s Maurice Gibb (the shorter one) on the bass guitar in this song; and Barry..the lead, is playing acoustic guitar on the song. THE BEE GEES WROTE ALL THEIR OWN MUSIC, as well as writing & producing for other artists. They were the complete package! Next: Either “Fanny Be Tender” or “Love You inside Out”
Got to see them in Seattle back in the 70's at the height of Saturday Night Fever craze. One of the most amazing concerts I've ever been to. I'll never forget it!
'Nights On Broadway' was the first song they used their falsettos in, but Barry comes in low and powerful...a really great song about following his girl to a night club. The live version on the Midnight Special TV show is the best because you can see them playing their guitars...especially Maurice setting the tone for Disco bass for all time! I bought the Rickenbacker 4001 in my photo just because he played one like it in 'Jive Talkin'! 😁
Robin recalls, "The subject matter of 'Stayin' Alive' is actually quite a serious one; It's about survival in the streets of New York, and the lyrics actually say that". Barry Gibb also recalls, "People crying out for help. Desperate songs. Those are the ones that become giants. The minute you capture that on record, it's gold. 'Stayin' Alive' is the epitome of that. Everybody struggles against the world, fighting all the bullshit and things that can drag you down. And it really is a victory just to survive. But when you climb back on top and win bigger than ever before, well that's something everybody reacts to everybody".
The high pitched vocals are known as 'falsetto' voicing. Try out 'How Deep is Your Love' which contains both falsetto and lower range vocals. It's another banger.
Another great reaction. Love your accent. They all three have massive vocal range. Nights on Broadway (1975 midnight special), Fanny be tender or Wind of Change (1979). ❤❤❤❤
Inspired by the Nic Cohn paperback Tribal Rites of the Saturday Night, who was the plot for the classic Saturday Night Fever Movie. Since 1977 fifth best selling single of alltime 34 million EAN units sold worldwide , passed How Deep is Your Love and Night Fever in certified sales 26 years ago. It is claimed from in a survey of all radiostations around the globe as most airplayed song of all time in 2017- every 20 seconds - this plays everywhere around the world and for sure it is the most iconic song of the 70´s decade. It’s a part of our shared cultural heritage now - one of those pop miracles that just never gets old, never wears off, never loses its charge. This monsterbanger remains alive and was way ahead of its time. And indeed one of the most covered pop songs in history. Michael Jackson, Paul McCartney and Benny Anderson from ABBA where green of envy when they heard this tune.
You are so right, the Bee Gees are the best! The Bee Gees are three brothers Barry in the middle, Robin with longer hair, and Mourice who is balding. Robin & Mourice are twins. They started singing together when they were kids in the late 50's and became famous in the 60's. They wrote all their own songs, way over 1000. They have also written hit songs for a lot of other famous artists. You have just fallen down a very good rabbit hole. Keep investigating the Bee Gees I know you won't be sorry. Enjoy. Try Nights On Broadway, or For Whom The Bell Tolls, or You Win Again, or some of their older songs like Massachusetts, or I've Got To Get A Message To You, or I Started A Joke. Or so many more to choose from. They are all good.
spot on with what you said, i would like to add if that ok, they came from england, but they were getting into trouble, so their parents moved to australia, which was the start of the career, still struglgling as singers, went to america whwre is took off, They have wrote and sung over 1000 hits, they have wrote more hits for others stars, than themselves, Dionne Warwick's 'Heartbreaker' (1982), Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers' 1983 hit 'Islands In The Stream' and the 1985 UK Number 1 that was Diana Ross' 'Chain Reaction'. just to name a couple
You're a charming reviewer, I love your reactions. I do envy you though. I grew up to this music back in the day but I wish I was just hearing it for the first time just like you. I agree wholeheartedly about today's music - such a shame it's so poor. Enjoy the Bee Gees.
@@shortaybrown Uh, no. I had already completed college, when the movie Saturday Night Fever came out. There were NO DISCO HITS on the radio, or in the top 40 on the radio, UNTIL the song, Staying Alive was released. If there were disco hits before, I never heard one. Err, highly arguable, compared to e.g. How Deep Is Your Love, and the era had to exist in order for the film to exist. It didn't create the era - it dramatised and popularised it. Discos existed long before this, in the US and in Europe. Being in the charts does not define when the era started, but when it became mainstream. And you might want to look up Donna Summer in that regard. She was having disco hits in 1975. AHHHHHHH LOVE TO LOVE YOU, BABY!
Oh yes this song was released in the height of the Disco era!! I was not really into disco back then personally but you couldn't help but hear this song and actually bop to it, no matter what musical genre you listened to at the time!! The Bee Gees didn't always sing as much in falsetto. My favorite song of theirs is "Massachusetts", which is sung by Robin. He has a very unique but pleasant voice and Barry joins in and then Maurice in the main hook. I highly recommend it. Also, "Words", "How Can You Mend A Broken Heart" and "I've Got To Get A Message To You" are good ones, as well.
This song and Many more were featured in the Movie Saturday Night Fever 😊 they also worked with female Artist in this Movie here are 2 1) Samantha Sang ( Emotion ) 2 ) Eyvonne Elliman ( If I can't have You ) 👍 ☀ 😎 Note an Introduction to Pat Benitar ( Promises in the Dark ) 😮 Like button 🔳 has been Illuminated
This was opening number to the smash surprise movie back in 1977... Saturday Night Fever. Set the tone for wonderful music and had the mega-popular John Travolta strolling down the street carry a can of paint !!!
You need to checkout Journey soon. Start with “Faithfully” or “Mother, Father”. Especially the live concert videos from the Escape tour in Houston in 1981. LOTS of other great hits in the Journey catalogue also.
Here is an oldie you will definitely enjoy. Poco Harum’s number 1 hit from 1967. Performed by the same band and lead singer in 2006, and backed with a full orchestra and choir. ❤
There was a band named "Poco" and there was a different band named, "Procul Harum". I think you're referring to the song, "Whiter Shade of Pale" and probably the recording with the Danish National Orchestra and the Danish National Choir.
Many men can sing in a higher register, called falsetto. It's like playing a saxophone way above its natural range, called in that case altissimo. It is a higher overtone. It requires extra effort.
Check out "Nights on Broadway - Bee Gees, The Midnight Special" in 1975. Its sometimes overlooked. It's a great groove song. It's live and right before they got huge and blew up big with Saturday Night Fever, etc.
@@RNDReacts Oh wow, Rere, you're a Brummie! Then you simply must react to the greatest artist to ever come out of Birmingham, the founder and lead singer of *ELO (Electric Light Orchestra),* mister Jeff Lynne! ELO had more Top 40 hits in the US and UK combined than any other band in the world during their original 15-year career from 1972 - 1986! To start, I suggest you react to their 1976 classic, *"Tightrope",* you will love the way ELO blends *_electric_* rock instruments with the strings of a *_light orchestra_* (hence the band name)!
Time to break out the Bee Gees and their disco classics, like "Night Fever" and "You should be dancing". Or, their love songs like "Fanny be tender"....this is a falsetto masterclass from Barry and Robin, or, "Emotion" and "Love you inside and out"....I know you've covered the masterpieces in Too much heaven and How deep is your love.
I'm enjoying your channel and reactions. Please listen to Bee Gee's song "How Deep Is Your Love". Thank you. There are 20 more I could recommend. Queen too.
I know this is 5 days old, and I just saw you did them 6 days ago. I was just hoping someone warned you, that ya kinda need “Rosetta Stone” to understand the lyrics lol. But the Huge smile on your face says it all!!
Hey Miss RND!! Just wanted to say hi. I’m a very brand new subscriber to your channel. And ACDC- Touch too Much was my first song, of yours. I’m a huge ACDC fan. So literally anything from them I will love. But this is “Your” journey. So you play whatever you like. Honored to be here. I love watching reactions to music I grew up with. Wasn’t a huge “Bee Gee’s” fan, but love their music. So have fun, don’t mind sarcastic idiots! And here to support ya!!🫶🎸
The Bee Gees only write great songs, the Kings of Disco and so much more......Check out 'Saturday night fever' sung by the Bee Gee's and danced by John Travolta video from the film 'Saturday night Fever' a must watch film as most of the songs in the film are written sung by the Bee Gees
Another great Bee Gees song. But please, pretty please, with sugar on top, get your brother and also listen to Spirits (Having Flown). You won't regret it.
If you like the harmonies , maybe you should check out ,'Little River Band'...Cool Change , or It's a Long Way There ... Or anything off The Essential LRB...
If you think that Queen and Bee Gees are your favourites you obviously haven’t listened to the Beatles. The Beatles do every genre and do it brilliantly. They are the GOAT when it comes to music. They will be listened to in 200+ years from now.
Podrías reaccionar a la canción Camina Como Un Egipcio de la banda Bangles, es muy divertida y buena a la vez. Gracias por los subtítulos, porque no sé inglés, saludos desde Ciudad de Guatemala en Centro América.
There was much phenomenal dance music in the 1970's. Have you heard KC&the sunshine band - That's the way I like it? Earth, Wind & Fire - Boogie Wonderland? Jacksons - Blame it on the boogie?
YOU'VE HEARD JOHN DENVER. BEING SO YOUNG THERE IS A LOT OF GREAT OLD MUSIC FOR YOU TO HEAR- TRY ANOTHER JOHN DENVER SONG FROM THE WILDLIFE CONCERT- NEVER THE END OF JOHN'S YOUNG LIFE- SONG CALLED "EAGLES AND HORSES"

This song and Many more were featured in the Movie Saturday Night Fever 😊 they also worked with female Artist in this Movie here are 2
1) Samantha Sang ( Emotion )
2 ) Eyvonne Elliman ( If I can't have You ) 👍 ☀ 😎
Note an Introduction to Pat Benitar ( Promises in the Dark ) 😮

This was opening number to the smash surprise movie back in 1977... Saturday Night Fever. Set the tone for wonderful music and had the mega-popular John Travolta strolling down the street carry a can of paint !!!
Please react to LOVE you inside out by the BEEGEES thanks
RIP GUYS!!!!!!!!
Great reaction!
Thanks!🖤🖤🖤
frankie valli and the four seasons is another great falsetto voice 'dawn' and 'sherry' good example of his falsetto range
"If I Can't Have You" by Yvonne Elliman from the Saturday Night Fever Album. It was written by The Bee Gees.
This is a good classic of gold
Red and green checkered bell bottoms with black patent leather platform shoes on the dance floor under the mirror ball. It was happenin.
Disco hymn.
He wants somebody to help him because he says his life is going nowhere.
Barry Gibb is an incredible talent! When you going to start reacting to movies 🍿 😉?
Their are '60s stuff is even better in my opinion. A couple beauties are "To Love Somebody" and "I Started a Joke." 👍
Journey = Send Her My Love
Check out "Nights on Broadway - Bee Gees, The Midnight Special" in 1975. Its sometimes overlooked. It's a great groove song. It's live and right before they got huge and blew up big with Saturday Night Fever, etc.
The standing joke growing up was that the tight tight pants had a lot to do with the high notes that they could reach....
Appreciate your honesty
Parait-il que le refrain de cette chanson est le bon rythme pour pratiquer un massage cardiaque ! 👍
Thanks for the video!
I was never a big fan of all that falsetto, but it worked with their music for some reason 🙂
The Bee Gees charted in 4 different decades. Not bad
What type of British accent do you have? Is it cockney? Whatever it is, I love it!
Thanks I’m from Birmingham
History 🔥🔥🔥
Time to break out the Bee Gees and their disco classics, like "Night Fever" and "You should be dancing".
Or, their love songs like "Fanny be tender"....this is a falsetto masterclass from Barry and Robin, or, "Emotion" and "Love you inside and out"....I know you've covered the masterpieces in Too much heaven and How deep is your love.
I'm enjoying your channel and reactions. Please listen to Bee Gee's song "How Deep Is Your Love". Thank you. There are 20 more I could recommend. Queen too.
Also, they all can sing in a lower register, but maybe 1968 to 1975 is what you should hear.
"Love you Inside and Out" or/and "Emotion w Samantha Sang"
I know this is 5 days old, and I just saw you did them 6 days ago. I was just hoping someone warned you, that ya kinda need “Rosetta Stone” to understand the lyrics lol. But the Huge smile on your face says it all!!
Earth wind Fire “Can’t Hide Love” Steely Dan “Peg”
Hey Miss RND!! Just wanted to say hi. I’m a very brand new subscriber to your channel. And ACDC- Touch too Much was my first song, of yours. I’m a huge ACDC fan. So literally anything from them I will love. But this is “Your” journey. So you play whatever you like. Honored to be here. I love watching reactions to music I grew up with. Wasn’t a huge “Bee Gee’s” fan, but love their music. So have fun, don’t mind sarcastic idiots! And here to support ya!!🫶🎸

DISCO- you had to be there lol.
What is the best Song by the Bee Gees? 😊 The next Song. Best Group ever ❤❤❤
The Bee Gees (for "Brothers Gibbs") and Queen are legendary. But Fleetwood Mac is timeless.
Need to check out there little brother Andy Gibbs
Another great Bee Gees song. But please, pretty please, with sugar on top, get your brother and also listen to Spirits (Having Flown). You won't regret it.
If you like the harmonies , maybe you should check out ,'Little River Band'...Cool Change , or It's a Long Way There ... Or anything off The Essential LRB...
If you think that Queen and Bee Gees are your favourites you obviously haven’t listened to the Beatles. The Beatles do every genre and do it brilliantly. They are the GOAT when it comes to music. They will be listened to in 200+ years from now.
You should be dancing Bee Gees
Podrías reaccionar a la canción Camina Como Un Egipcio de la banda Bangles, es muy divertida y buena a la vez. Gracias por los subtítulos, porque no sé inglés, saludos desde Ciudad de Guatemala en Centro América.
👍👍👍
There was much phenomenal dance music in the 1970's. Have you heard KC&the sunshine band - That's the way I like it? Earth, Wind & Fire - Boogie Wonderland? Jacksons - Blame it on the boogie?
If you like Bee Gees songs try Massachusetts
Welcome to Disco
