Those of us who grew up with the early BeeGees on the radio take their falsettos for granted. It's just the BeeGees. Sibling harmonies like theirs are very special and they were masters.
The Bee Gees have a dozen bangers from the 70s, and a ton o songs from earlier days too. In this clip: the tallest guy in the middle with the big hair and beard, the lead singer: Barry Gibb born September 1, 1946, the only surviving Gibb brother. Guy with long hair and red t-shirt: Robin Gibb, born December 22, 1949-passed away May 20, 2012, balding guy with beard Robin's fraternal twin brother Maurice (pronounced "Morris") Gibb, born December 22, 1949-passed away January 12, 2003. They also had another, younger, brother Andy Gibb, born March 5, 1958-passed away March 10, 1988. The three oldest brothers were born on the Isle of Man (UK). Oldest brother Barry got seriously burned when he accidentally pulled boiling tea over himself at 18 months old. He was in coma for a while, nearly died and was in hospital for many months. Because of this, he did not learn to talk until after the twins were born. Later the family moved to Manchester and from there they emigrated to Australia in 1958, right after Andy was born. Their musical career, which they had started as little kids, didn't lead to international success so they moved back to the UK in 1966. Then they had a string of big hits, until they temporarily broke up around 1970 for 15 months. Started back up, looking for a new sound which they first found in 1974 with the transitional album "Mr. Natural". After that "Main Course" was the first album that moved them into a new direction: more rhythm&blues, dance music like with great hits like Nights on Broadway and Jive Talkin'. From 1976 on they went all out with falsetto driven dance music which lead to their biggest commercial success as they provided classic songs for the Saturday Night Fever Soundtrack (1977 Stayin' Alive, How Deep is Your Love, Night Fever amongst them). You should react to the 1979 live version of Stayin' Alive, too ua-cam.com/video/7niXSh7vWRI/v-deo.html

This was my favorite reaction by you two so far. Brad finally lightened up a little, and what was the result... Brad made a Lexism and Lex cheered with recognition! Keep up the great work Lex. Eventually his stick will fall out.
Those of us who grew up with the early BeeGees on the radio take their falsettos for granted. It's just the BeeGees. Sibling harmonies like theirs are very special and they were masters.
Bee Gees great band and song writers, falsetto was thier thing. Brings back memories of the roller rink in the 70s an80s for me.yes I'm old.
Elton did a good falsetto too but yea Barry was the man

Bee Gees are Heros.............pure Music with a wonderful Falsetto............so dope
The Bee Gees have a dozen bangers from the 70s, and a ton o songs from earlier days too. Some, are: "You Should Be Dancing" "Jive Talkin'" "Nights on Broadway" "More Than a Woman" "Night Fever" "How Deep is Your Love?" "Boogie Child" "Wind of Change" "How Can You Mend a Broken Heart?" "Too Much Heaven."
My cover band does Nights on Broadway and it's a hit every single time!

All brothers and two are twins. What a great combination for harmonizing!
Never was a fan of The Bee Gees, but during our Disco days they were on top.✌️
Me either until now. I’m finding that to be true with other groups/singers as well.
I think it’s due to getting older. 😳 😂

It is so interesting that Lex points out that "its not falsetto". In an interview, we learned that they tried to get Barry to learn to sing in falsetto.
They finally got that delivered in "TOO MUCH HEAVEN".
And that is truly one of the most beautiful songs EVER recorded. And the vocals just melt you inside. Gorgeous song. That should be your next BeeGees experience - please please please.
According to another analysis, Barry's falsetto is actually his head voice...that is why he can sing it for a long while.
There were 4 Gibb brothers, Andy had a solo career, they started off in Australia. Love from Australia.
But he wasn't in the BeeGees. And I think he died from an OD?
@@melissas4874 That is what "had a solo career" means.
They started off in Manchester UK.

"Ok, I'm Pretty Sure That This Was Used In A Movie"
You're absolutely correct, Brad
It was used in the John Travolta movie "Saturday Night Fever"
Yep. In fact, half of that soundtrack were Bee Gees songs. Check 'em all out. Also, Too Much Heaven.
😂😂

Most of the Bee Gees music is how describe as " Feel Good Music"!! Always gets your feet amovin and head boppin 👍😁❤️
Probably the greatest songwriters of all time. The amount of number 1s they've had both as artists or for other artists with songs they've written is unbelievable
One of the greatest songs by the greatest bands. I'm still in love with you, Lex!
The BEE GEES were the soundtrack of the 70's. They had a younger brother, ANDY GIBB who also had his share of hits. .Sadly, Andy died just days after his 30th birthday. Maurice and Robin Gibb have passed on, as well. Barry is the lone survivor of the Gibb brothers.
This 🎵 has always SLAPPED everytime I've heard it!!!!!!
Really was a fun stream with your mom Lex. I am so happy for you Brad & Lex. My favorite Bee Gees song is "To Love Somebody"
These are all brothers and they are major talented , some of the best and most beautiful voices ever. Andy Gibb too was thier brother who had a solo career. Nights on Broadway is one you need to listen too They can sing high and low , thier voices are just fantastic and no one can touch them
'You win again' and 'How deep is your love' are my suggestions for more Bee Gees songs
This Song DEFINES Disco. You have to be able to handle the moves to keep up.
Along with Gloria Gaynor's "I Will Survive," this is the most iconic of Disco songs.
Best falsetto voices ever! The Bee Gees are absolute legends.
Anytime your down. Play this song. Automatically better. Believe that!
Lex thanks for your smile and being upbeat! The early years off their The Best of Bee Gees album, I can't See Nobody, To Love Somebody and others are great! "Fanny Be Tender with my Love" is terrific and it is said that it is was not performed live very often due to how complex the incredible singing was. "Run To Me", so many more and others songs written for others like "Islands in the Stream", "Emotions" and "If I Can't Have you". Barry has a current album/recordings with current singers called "Greenfields"
This is disco 🕺
Bee Gees are 3 brothers, the Brothers Gibb Bee Gees did the soundtrack for the movie Saturday Night Fever
“I’m pretty sure this was used in a movie”. It’s definitely possible…
"Airplane!"
The absolute peak of the disco era. The Gibbs brothers did some serious falsetto, for sure. Great vocals. (BTW, Lex's braids and pink bows in this video stole the show. She is SO adorable! I've had that thought before but never commented on it. Love both of you, but her reactions and look are beautiful, and priceless. :) )
They in essence created disco - and it became their curse. Vilified and made fun of, and never given credit until decades later. Brilliant song writers - and had 4 number 1 hits off this soundtrack which was paired to an iconic film SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER./
For Song Writing maybe Islands In The Stream is their best, they also wrote The Walls Fell Down for the Marbles in the 1960s

You’re right when you said “Disco”, because these guys were the kings of “Disco” back in the 70’s.
Sorry Brad, it does indeed slap, Lex is correct as usual. I’m legit stunned you guys haven’t heard this before, it’s probably one of the top ten pieces of pop music of all time.
Lex heard it before she said it’s her mom favorite and Brad said he heard it before. It’s one thing hearing something in the background or in passing it’s another thing sitting down and actually listening to it.
@@soakedbearrd right… I’m stunned they haven’t heard it in the full meaning, I was born in 1989 and knew this song backwards and forewords by the mid 90’s. It’s literally (see my comment) one of the most iconic pieces of pop music of all time. For a grown adult in 2021 to not even recognize this song is strange, no matter the circumstances.
@@Polyphemus89 Not everyone has the same childhood.
@@Polyphemus89 1989 is considered mature now. They were born in late 90s. But I get what you are saying, all I can say is that times have changed and music has change, the only throw backs you hear now are through commercials and movies (usually redone different covers). Radio is dead. And the oldies now seem to be from 90’s and on. For the 80s it was the 60s, for the 90s it was the 70s, 2000’s it was the 80s, 2010s it was the 90s, and 2020s I’m sure will be the 2000s. Each generation seems to have throwbacks about two decades beforehand.
@@soakedbearrd why do you say they were born in the late '90s? I thought they posted a picture of themselves from around 2007 where they looked like teenagers. I've been trying to figure out how old they really are. I don't think they're that young.

Brad & Lex please react my favorite Bee Gees song: ❤ "How Do You Mend A Broken Heart"! Its also what they named their documentary. Barry's voice is amazing on it! 😍

One of many huge hits from the “Saturday Night Fever” soundtrack. The movie starred John Travolta and made him a superstar

Just one of many excellent songs from the Soundtrack to a wonderful movie Starring John Travolta called "Saturday Night Fever". If you haven't seen it, please do yourselves a favor and watch it - the disco club, the dancing and the backstory in the plot are all amazing memories from my childhood!
You'll never find another singer with a voice like Barry Gibb with such a dynamic octive range
They wrote and did the backing for the song Chain Reaction for Diana Ross if you want to check that one out.
Love that part that juxtaposed the chorus “I’m goin’ nowhere, somebody help me!” (After 2nd chorus)
It's from the movie Saturday night fever
This is probably the biggest song in Disco, it's been used in a ton of movies. When we were teens my friend thought it was hilarious to ride around town blasting this song for all to hear.
The Bee Gees, originally the Brothers Gibb are an Australian band formed by 3 brothers Barry, Robin, and Maurice Gibb. They actually have a 4th brother, Andy, who had a solo career. Originally doing top 40 type songs, they became the voice of the disco movement and did the music for Saturday Night Fever and the sequel Stayin' Alive. Great band that spanned multiple genres.

These 3 are the brothers Gibb. Barry had a great falsetto but could sing baritone as well lol. His range was beyond amazing. Maurice and Robin had great voices too and together, their harmonies are now considered classics. RIP Maurice and Robin.
The BeeGees (Brothers Gibb) are all brothers. They've been around since the 60s. They started doing the falsetto in the mid 70s when disco got big. Their younger brother Andy had his own career in the 70s and was really popular. Try their song "Jive Talkin" for a funky non falsetto performance from them.
