Man, I love seeing the new generations grooving to music from my early childhood. I love it when even older music can bring us all together. Sometimes there is an epic song, no matter when it was released, what generation it was released, it always holds the power to stay fresh to a new generation. This is definitely one of those songs. I'm so happy you enjoyed it Shiloh😎 stay cool, my sister from another mister.
I cannot believe that anyone who loves music has not heard the opening chords at some time. Its i like ny,ny by sinatra or white christmas or billie jean
I agree, because this is a song which everyone associates with the era. There were great artists in the 70s, but this song captured the zeitgeist of the time, even though it was late on the scene. Looking back, nearly 50 years later, this was a great song, and a great emblem of the times.
The BeeGees will always be number #1 in my book! I’ve always loved the BeeGees! And listening to them will never get old! They were so talented and such great performers! And Barry will always be a wonderful warm and handsome man💕 To this day I still listen to them each and every day! I love them all!!! R.I.P.... Robin & Maurice and also Andy.🙏💕💕It’s so great that Barry is still performing to this day.....💕💕Thanks for playing them💕💕💕💕💕
I only recently found out that this song had a more serious message than we'd think. It's actually about survival on the streets of New York in the 70's, back when parts of New York would've been dangerous to live in due to high crime and gang activity. The lyrics are practically telling a piece of social history with the lyrics 'Whether you're a brother or whether you're a mother, you're stayin' alive', 'Feel the city breakin' and everybody's shakin', you're stayin' alive' and Robin's lines 'Life goin' nowhere, somebody help me'. These guys really were lyrical geniuses.
I don't understand how some people can cut down Disco music? There has never been better music to dance to. All of it has a beat that just gets you up and moving. That's why 50 years later...young people are hearing it for the first time and loving it. Do yourself a favor and listen to ALL the BEE GEES music.
Girl, you would have loved the disco years. Clubs had incredible energy. I was living in Manhattan and worked as a flight attendant. It was a great time.
My friends and I were all rockers in the 70's and 80's and absolutely loathed disco. But looking back on it from 40 or more years on; it's actually great. Funny how time can change your perspective on things!
Watching you just brings a big smile to my face. I love when the younger generations find this music and are just as entertained as my generation were when we first heard it, great reaction!
You are simply AWESOME, young lady. Love your presentations. I’m an old Aussie bloke who grew up with the Bee Gees music, especially during the Disco era when I was in my 20’s. Great music, great singing group, they are brothers. They originated from Australia - I remember them appearing on local talent quests in Australia before they became famous. There was a fourth younger brother who unfortunately recently passed away. Thank you for sharing their FAN-BLOODY-TASTIC music & voices. God bless 🤠👍🤗🦘🕺💃
Funfact: A study was completed in 2018 confirms that med students and physicians who were trained to do compressions, while listening to the song, would maintain the ideal rhythm of 100-120* compressions per minute. It really help you stay alive if you get a CRP :D
It's awesome seeing a young person opening their eyes to different styles of music and enjoying it. Love your smile, the laugh, and getting into the music...too cute...
One of the greatest pop songs ever written. While this song is associated with Disco, they actually wrote this as an R&B song which is what they had been doing prior to this (such as Jive Talkin.) I'm glad you reacted to this and that you enjoyed it. I would have been slightly shocked if you had never heard at least part of it before as it has turned up in tv shows, movies, and sampled in other songs. ~Be Blessed
love this song Bee Gees has a lot of great songs you go girl dancing oh yeah they have hits from before this Disco music :) How deep is your love, Too much heaven, before going disco
This was the song our health teacher taught us CPR to back in the 90’s. It, along with several other songs, have the perfect beat for pumping chest compressions.
This is what disco dancing was all about! Swing Dancing! It was absolutely incredible! A great time to be alive... Learn how to swing dance, you'll love it!
Wow. THE smile of yours, when the beat got going just made my day!!! Pure unexpected happieness!! Whatever shit i tought I was going through...? Hahaha.. it is just as memory now.. thank you Shiloh ❤️❤️❤️
I thought all of the reactors had done this by now ..I still get a good time from watching people seeing this for the first time ..I recommend going way back with Bee Gees and then moving up but you may be more in the latter years mostly by now .. TO LOVE SOMEBODY and HOW CAN YOU MEND BROKEN HEART are more of the original sound of BeeGees before they moved to Miami to make the album MAIN COURSE and that changed their sound to what every body knows them for by most people .. Also the Live Version The Bee Gees - Nights On Broadway - The Midnight Special 1975 is awesome because they don't waiver at all in live performances
Shiloh, for more Bee Gees goodness try "How Deep Is Your Love", "Holiday", "To Love Somebody", "I've Gotta Get a Message To You", "I Started A Joke", "How Can You Mend A Broken Heart". "Lonely Days", and "Words" to get started. You will be amazed at the talent and beautiful vocals they display in all of their songs!
The Brothers Gibb ...... Professionally known as 'The Bee Gees.' The closest thing to perfect, you say!!?? Well, as is said in my neck-of-the-woods, 'Too each his own.' Maurice (on the right) had a congenital bowel defect, i.e he was born with it. While on his way to surgery for his intestines, he had a heart attack, yet the doctors operated anyway. (I heard Barry say this on a video.) He was in the hospital for only 2 days! Maurice (pronounced Morris) passed in 2003. Robin (on the left) had the same bowel defect, but it was diagnosed in time to operate and save him from the same fate as his fraternal twin, Maurice. During that operation, they discovered colon cancer. He passed in 2012. Andy, the youngest brother, who had his own moderately successful career, died of Myocarditis, which is inflammation of the muscles surrounding the heart. He passed in 1988, at the age of 30. The 3 brothers were also married and had children. Barry (in the middle) said, "I am the last man standing." Barry is the eldest of the brothers. On September 1, 2021, he and his wife, Linda will celebrate their 51st wedding anniversary, which is also Barry's 75th birthday. They have 5 adult children, and 7 grandchildren. The Bee Gees have sold over 220 million records worldwide. They were also writers for other musical artists. Barry just completed a new project called 'Greenfields: The Gibb Brothers Songbook.' It is very nice! On a side note, their sister, Lesley is the first born. She was 77 in January, 2021. She lives a quiet life with her family. After the movie was completed, (Saturday Night Fever) the director felt the movie needed a different style of music. In comes the Bee Gees. Their songs replaced Boz Skaggs and Stevie Wonder! You will like: How Deep Is Your Love ---- Staying Alive ---- Night Fever ---- Emotion --- You Win Again
Thank you for the explanation. I always heard it was a heart attack that killed Andy and didn't know about the other two brothers. They are /were musical geniuses.
Great selection and it was a joy seing your great reaction! You obviously liked and got into the song. The beat and voices are incomparable. I enjoyed this so much. Great reaction by you! Here's to your next one! 🙏🙂❤️
Though I have a lot of musical diversity, I am a rocker by heart and soul. I have to admit: this is one of the coolest grooves ever. Screams, "Get out on the dance floor!"
Ahhh The Bee Gee's! They did the soundtrack for Saturday Night Fever with John Travolta the best selling soundtrack in history. Barry Gibb also wrote the music for the movie Grease fyi. You should see Saturday Night Fever no doubt as well as Grease. You know the Gibbs are brothers Barry, Robin, Maurice and on occasion they had their younger brother Andy Gibb come sing with them - super talented and were the sound of the Disco era and still sound amazing today!
Welcome to Disco young lady, yes Shiloh I am guilty of doing a few spins on the dance floor to this when I was a pup. Love your Vids you are so on point with your reactions and have an open mind no matter the age or type of music, keep up the good work. Stay Safe.
The Bee Gees had two lives, as a pop group in the 60's and a disco group in the 70's!!! Check out some of their early stuff, it's almost like a different group!!
I really enjoyed your reaction to the Bee Gees staying alive .. was playing on the radio when I was a teenager. I wish you would do a reaction to Percy sledge....My Special Prayer.
The Bee Gees (and the Gibbs Family) is a story of fame and tragedy. The Fame: There were four famous boys in this family. The Bee Gees was comprised of the three older brothers, Barry, Robin and Maurice. Robin and Maurice were twins. The fourth brother Andy, was never part of the group but had an amazing solo carrier. Only Elvis Presley, the Beatles, Michael Jackson, Garth Brooks and Paul McCartney have outsold the Bee Gees. The tragedy: Andy struggled with depression and drug use. His drug use ultimately weakened his heart and he passed away at the young age of 30. Maurice died suddenly at the age of 53, due to a twisted intestine. His twin Robin, died less than 10 years later at the age of 62, due to complications of intestinal cancer that spread to his Liver. Only Barry, the oldest of the brothers is still alive. An amazing group of boys, born in England, but called Australia their home and extremely well known by those of us in the USA who grew up with their music. They're music was extremely popular during the "Disco" era in America.
I grew up in the 70s loving these guys, I still do. You should check out some of their pre-disco stuff such as Words or How Can You Mend A Broken Heart. And if you want your mind absolutely blown, look up Dimash "SOS" from the show "I Am Singer - 2017" your life will never be the same.
Saturday Night Fever’s dance scenes were filmed in the 2001 Odyssey Disco, in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, NY. We all danced at that club many times, what an experience. And yes, I knew how to disco and twirl my dance partner around. What a time to be a 20 year old growing up in Brooklyn.
Big hair... Tight pants.... “Loud” outfits.... Yes Shiloh, this WAS the 70’s in a nutshell ☝️😂👌. Of course, the classic movie “Saturday Night Fever” was the one that launched John Travolta to superstardom, even though I first recall him in the tv series “Welcome Back Kotter”, one of my all time favourites. Movie wise, he makes for an awesome villain 🤙😉
The Brothers, Gibb-------------Barry---------------Maurice & Robin, who were fraternal twins, & both are sadly, passed. -----------------This was THE song , in '78 & '79.---------------They were born in Britain, raised in Australia. ------------------------WolfSky9, 74 y/o
Your excitement is very unique. Just keep that view of life and it will take you to greater heights. Don't allow negative people within your personal circle.
You’ve got to watch the movie Saturday Night Fever- it was a sensation when it came out- made John Travolta a superstar, the soundtrack is one of the biggest selling albums ever. It contains several Bee Gee songs...great music in the movie. Classic movie & music- defined a time: late 70s.
lol dang and this song in so many black movies ,just goes to show ya,i asked my mom and granny if they knew or heard of the bee gees lol both said oh yeah that they were brothers and fine as wine .
It is more fun watching your reactions than what you are reacting to. Comedy or music, it doesn't matter. You are a blast. Keep it up forever. Thank you for lightening my day.
If this doesn't get you moving, you'd better check you've still got a pulse. The BeeGees basically had two careers. They started in the 60s and sang mostly wistful ballad type songs. But when disco hit in the 70s, they reinvented themselves and became THE disco band. From 1976 to 1979 you couldn't turn on a radio without hearing them. Other big BeeGees disco hits include "Night Fever" and "Jive Talking" - for an example of their older sound, the song "Massachusetts" is a top example.
3 brothers, all white, all British and all talented as hell! Even in the 70's when we all learned they were white we were shocked. Music knows no race, only the soul of the artist. Like a wise man once said, "Never judge a book by it's cover." Love these old tunes, many very good memories. PEACE!!!!!
You look ultra-pretty today! Great reaction, I was a rock guy in the 70's and wouldn't have been caught dead listening to this...I guess I mellowed with age.
This young lady is fine as wine. ❤️❤️❤️
I miss the 70's! ❤🎵
You can't go wrong with the Beegees, all their songs are good. 15 number ONE hits on the Billboard list.
Yup, it is the theme song to the movie Saturday night fever.
Man, I love seeing the new generations grooving to music from my early childhood. I love it when even older music can bring us all together. Shiloh turns in a disco queen, bopping like it’s 1978
She was certainly boogying down... 😏
She started grooving right away
You mean it's not 1978? Crap. I wish it was 1978.
The Kids will learn what good music is
She should just go watch the movie and see how it was back in the day. When people actually dressed up to go out.
If there was ever a song that could identify a decade, this song was the 70's
It does, but personally I place September higher on that list, that or Boogie Wonderland, showing my bias lol.
I cannot believe that anyone who loves music has not heard the opening chords at some time. Its i
like ny,ny by sinatra or white christmas or billie jean
Within the disco genre very much so, but the rock theme music of the 70's would probably be Boston.
Yeah, no.Close though. Queen, John Lennon ( 1980), Elton John, The Stones et al were massive as well. Especially aThe Stones.
I agree, because this is a song which everyone associates with the era. There were great artists in the 70s, but this song captured the zeitgeist of the time, even though it was late on the scene. Looking back, nearly 50 years later, this was a great song, and a great emblem of the times.
The Bee Gees can do no wrong Rest In Peace Andy, Robin and Maurice Gibb 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
Amen!! I agree 100%!
When did Andy die? I knew Robin and Mourice died really close together a few years ago but I hadn't heard Andy passed.
@@SGTJDerek Andy died back in the early 80s I believe. Now Barry is the only Bee Gee alive
When did andy go?
@@vengefulones6435 Andy died I believe in the early 80s

Am at a loss for words to describe the adorability of this young woman when she bops. Cute and classically beautiful. Love your reactions.
I bet she is a beautiful sight out on the dance floor.
I agree completely
If you don't smile listening to the Bee Gees then you are officially dead inside.
Bass line is fabulous. Truly sets the stage of the song!!!
Andy , Robin and Maurice Gibb, the most iconic trio.❤ Love Bee Gees. Pure Disco era.
I only recently found out that this song had a more serious message than we'd think. Roller skating in the 70s at the local rink. This was the jam (still is). FUN times with friends. Before we had to grow up.
I don't understand how some people can cut down Disco music? There has never been better music to dance to. All of it has a beat that just gets you up and moving. BeeGee's vocals... $100. Nostalgic value.... $200. Watching Shiloh smile for 6 minutes... Priceless.
i love how her head started nodding, but her WHOLE BODY was like "nope - this a full-body bop" lol
I love watching your reactions. Your smile and surprise in your eyes is so genuine. Such a cutie.
Loved watching you react to the Bee Gees. You are a beautiful young lady whose smile transcends all.
Girl, you would have loved the disco years. Clubs had incredible energy. I was living in Manhattan and worked as a flight attendant. It was a great time.
I was in high school when this first came out, it blew everybody's minds away
Love this young lady's energy!!
Legendary groove/beat plus insane vocals!!!
My friends and I were all rockers in the 70's and 80's and absolutely loathed disco. But looking back on it from 40 or more years on; it's actually great. Funny how time can change your perspective on things!
It was fun watching you bop around to this!
Watching you just brings a big smile to my face. I love when the younger generations find this music and are just as entertained as my generation were when we first heard it, great reaction!
They are great and so was the Movie Saturday Night Fever.
Some of their songs were on the sound track to Saturday Night Fever. Starring John Travolta.

I still think this is my favorite reaction of yours, Shiloh, beautiful to see your unbridled joy.
Good one, Shiloh!!
A couple more fun Bee Gees songs from the Disco era are:
"More than a Woman" and "You Should be Dancing"
Your reaction to these songs by the Bee Gees -> reaching out, I surrender, love so right, love you inside out, jive talking, tragedy! 😎

Welcome to disco music!!!! To experience this on the dance floor in the 70’s was epic
You really got into that song. You would have loved going to the disco. I loved watching you enjoying it.
Jive Talking is my favorite Bee Gees song..it's amazing!!
This song is played in CPR training classes all across the world because the beat of this song replicates heart beats .

I LOVE seeing a young person loving the BeeGees like I did when they first came out!
Barry Gibb has 40 years after that song a number one Album in the UK again, he's a genius...
Glad seeing that disco isn't dead. 🥰
Though I have a lot of musical diversity, I am a rocker by heart and soul. I have to admit: this is one of the coolest grooves ever. Screams, "Get out on the dance floor!"
Now you gotta watch the movie Saturday Night Fever

Too much heaven is a masterpiece. Must listen!
Barry Gibbs falsetto is legendary due to the fact of how well he can use it and carry the notes!

Yes!! That whole soundtrack is pretty vibable, esp if born in the seventies!!
This was beyond huge with the whole Saturday night Fever movie and all , I admit that disco era was fun Rock on 🤘
as a metal/rock/pop drummer, I actually love playing this good tune...Ohhh Yurrrr!!!

That SMILE tho..... 🥰

An amazing group of boys, born in England, but called Australia their home and extremely well known by those of us in the USA who grew up with their music. They're music was extremely popular during the "Disco" era in America.
You definitely need to check out “Nights on Broadway”. Their performance on Midnight Special is fantastic.

Hello, they performed a song called “To Love Somebody” live in 1967. I think it’s something that you would enjoy.
Check out the movie Saturday Night Fever with John Travolta swaggering along to this number. It’s brilliant.

3 brothers, all white, all British and all talented as hell! Even in the 70's when we all learned they were white we were shocked. Music knows no race, only the soul of the artist. Like a wise man once said, "Never judge a book by it's cover." Love these old tunes, many very good memories. PEACE!!!!!
British ? WTF

Outstanding Shiloh. I'm glad your enjoying great music, well from another era🤣👍awesome reaction.
They are truly legends
You look ultra-pretty today! Great reaction, I was a rock guy in the 70's and wouldn't have been caught dead listening to this...I guess I mellowed with age.
