@CozyKode lol just came from there. I've actually played DnD and other tabletop rpgs but I've never played BG before so I don't need to learn about attributes I need the mechanics of this game lol
Thank you posting it's spoiler free! The last two I watched didn't even give a spoiler warning when giving away major plot points. Now I can just hit play and enjoy
Agreed! Very well done! Earned a new sub here! Very few can articulate what they are playing as well as this guy does! Can think of 3 or 4 others I can sit through a whole video of and come out feeling wiser and more prepared on the other end!
Made it to the end. I started playing this game yesterday, and felt very overwhelmed. Now I feel totally empowered to go have a good time. Thank you very much!
Appreciate the effort you put into this mate. Learnt more from this video than the other 20 I've watched combined. A true gift to those of us who are new to the genre and DnD
The best Beginners guide on UA-cam. It saved me from giving up on the game after 3 hours of getting slaughtered because I picked the wrong class for my Drow. Its now the best RPG I have ever played in 30 years. Thanks Lucky Ghost, I name checked you on my Steam review. Love the follow up videos as well, hope you make many more.
This is the best and most complete video i ve seen as a guide, it s really well explained, it s not too fast or too slow, it s perfect. Thank you so much.
Just installed the game but haven't started playing yet and to be honest, I was a bit apprehensive about it, it just looked so complicated. After watching your video, I now can't wait to get into it. Excellent in-depth explanations, never assuming that the viewer already knows something. You just got yourself a new subscriber.
Just got into the game 2 days ago. It's a looooooot to wrap your head around if you're not used to this kind of game, and this guide proved incredibly helpful. A lot of it is explained by the game, but still, in every section, there is something you might have missed or not thought of, so this is pure gold.
Insanely helpful. Every other video was still talking to the viewer like they were supposed to know things, but you actually explain all the little details that will trip a new player up, like me. I feel a lot more confident with combat now.
Quick tip: if you're going for a ranged character such as a wizard there's a hidden melee weapon you can find fairly early that increases your strength to 15 (now 19 as of patch 1) while it's equipped, thus offsetting the disadvantages of having low strength for various things.
@@nirisu6954 in the Underdark at the top of the Arcane Tower there's a stool called "Stool of Hill Giant Strength" that raises a characters strength to 21 while sitting on it. If you throw it it will break allowing you to take one of the legs as a club. Also the weapon's effect has been buffed as of patch 1 to raise strength to 19 instead of 15.
This game is extremely frustrating. After spending $60, I can't give up. But wow, this game is really testing my patience levels. I have NEVER played D&D, and never plan to. I don't have time for that. I have tried to watch many "how to" videos. Every one of them explains things like I'm already supposed to know all the verbiage and terms associated with D&D. I am struggling hard with this game because I don't do well with turn based rpg's. I want to just move my character. I keep getting stuck in hallways, team members blocking others from being able to advance and actually get to the enemies. Thank you for actually explaining this game instead of jumping over all the info we're actually trying to find.
Yeah turn based was NOT MY THING.. worse than picturing myself being hit on by Ron Jeremy. A handful of my friends are super into it.. and because I suck they kind of left me behind.. it’s frustrating.. but the depth of this game is extreme.. keep trying.. because it’s not the “game of the decade” for no reason.
Thank you really great video. I’ve played through XOM and darkest dungeon and have about 30 or so hours of gameplay time in BG three I just defeated the hag and there were still mechanics that I wasn’t fully aware of that you made known in this video.
Great vid. I might have mised it but I wish you covered all the little icons in the corner during cutscenes. I just learned you can interrupt or attack in a middle of a cutscene if you need to protect someone.
I’m watching this as I’m downloading the game and I started watching some other beginner videos. I was kinda feeling buyers remorse watching those other videos and now watching this I’ve done a 180 and I’m excited to play. Get guide my dude, earned a sub!
This tutorial was very informative even though I'm playing on the xbox series x. It taught me the basics of the game. I'll still need to know things like what button controls each character one at a time if I want to set them up in different positions. (if that's a thing).
Huge thanks bro, game rly throws you on the deep waters since minute 1, you can feel the choices you haft to make with literal zero knowledge of the outcome.
thank you for this thorough and very easily to understand guide! and also thanks for taking the time to produce it and share it with us :) I cant wait to play the game!
You easily just convinced me to spend the money for this game , I’ve been itching to live out my middle school years of playing guild wars and I think this is it ❤❤❤❤
This is prolly the best tips video I watch so far for bg3. I’m in Xbox so thanx for using your head start to teach me things to help me and not spoil the game
Not sure of what has changed since this video was made but I disagree with the statement that explorer doesn’t matter what combination of people you have in your party. I come from 20+ years of loving and playing games like this and had to start a 2nd run after spending too many hours struggling left and right with my rogue and party. Only after going through a build guide for a Paladin Oath of Vengeance did my experience improve where I stood a chance to survive and truly enjoy the immersion of BG3.
Liked and subbed waiting to get home out on the road to download this thank you for all the tips and tricks ! I’m for sure gonna pick Cleric, Druid, Roge, and Wizard
bro u got no idea how much this saved me as someone who has never played dnd b4, you actually go through all the mechanics without expecting me to know it already, like all the other "guide" videos
Thanks for the walkthrough, my fiancée loves D&D and I’m currently working on learning so I can DM for her and her friends, we’re going to start playing BG3 as well and this helped me feel a little better about knowing what I’m doing. 😅
While I'm really liking the game so far, I just cannot agree that the character appearance customization is that great, it's serviceable, though I might have been spoiled by FromSoft's carte blanche for making both monstrous abominations and surprisingly good looking PC's.
Thank you!!! I've seen a million other guides and they all just give random factoids with no logical progression or connection. This is the first one that finally f*cking explains everything in a logical progressive way. Bless you.
I’ve played a lot of DOS:2 and am about 80 hours into BG3 and this was still a great introduction video. If I’d watched this earlier maybe my game time would match my actual play time 😂😂😂
This guide is amazing! Bg3 is my first game like this since dragon age origins.. is that even similar?? I’ve never played dnd in my life. I had a general idea of what to do but this definitely fleshed out so many things I wasn’t aware of. Definitely going in with more confidence now. The overwhelming learning curve was the only thing holding me back from playing this. Everyone loves it so I gotta see what the hypes all about and now I’m glad I did some homework. I think I’m going with a fighter of some sort and use shadowheart, Astorian and Gale as they seem like interesting characters and their skill set is similar to my DA party which always worked well.
I tried. I really did! But while I loved the dialogue, graphics, and music, I found the combat extremely slow and frustrating. Especially when enemies decided to jump/teleport far away from my available distance to dash or walk, and yet THEY were able to continue with range attacks from any distance while I had to chase after them to get in range. And I didn’t try to play co-op because I was worried I’d constantly be a hinderance to the group and they’d eventually just kick me out
Definitely alot of effort for this guide, thank u. Been enjoying ur guide ever since playing ESO n now that I've learn this, will try to start playing this game. Nice video 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I admit I have been save scumming. My luck is so bad that I needed a 2 on a roll and I rolled a 1. I'm sure it's happened to many other. I will do a run where I'm not save scumming next but this is my first playthrough. I want to fully experience things and not lose out because my luck is terrible😂
40:40 - "Disengage allows me to move away from combat safely..." *runs through fire* lol Jokes aside though, thanks so, so much for this. Incredibly helpful.
I will continue watching this video until I get good at bg3. Just bought it for my ps5 and already got my party killed and stuck 1hr into the game😢 so definitely want to get better.
I enjoyed your video very much. I learnt so much and truly understand the game's mechanics now. This is exactly how a guide should be. Good job! Thank you. 😁
If I didnt watch this whole video first, I would have trashed the game. Absolutely a must-watch video to feel confident (and not frustrated) when jumping into BG3 for the first time.
I'm thinking of doing my first playthrough with Dark Urge and using the bard class. He's a charismatic guy who is a showman wanting to make the world a better place but obviously has these dark urges (would like to think it's a Joker type of side to him) think that works, thoughts? :)
your video help me understand this more then all the other video like they be use dam word i never hear of doing i never play dnd like i sit here thinking to me self wtf do that ever mean and the comment not helpful at all but your video help me break down the dice part a lot like i play divinity original sin 2 and it never have all this and yes i know a lot of people will say if u play that game u will understand this system but of me i never did understand i just throw a build out my ass and it work out some how but with this game i feel a bit lost on a lot of thing but u help me out a lot and sorry of the long comment to i normal do not do this but i find a video that more helpful then what ever i just watch before
This is the only guide that I watched and it didn't make me feel overwhelmed after watching it, in fact it made me even more excited to play the game. You're the GOAT when it comes to beginner guides for this game, man! TYSM!
I’m brand new to this genre of gaming an etc lol but I’ve always wanted to get into it but it’s hard but not hard I’m confused on how I can send ppl to a camp or something but I’ve never even been myself like just started an saying I can go to the camp an the blue thing that cost to use spells had to figure out how to rest an refill them I think an it heals you sometimes I’ll get tip pop ups but not ones I really need
Thank you so much for this video i am a newbie, i could get it for the ps5 but i am waiting for a xbox realease hoping they do do cross play sometime soon so i can play with my friend on his laptop to my xbox
The game really does a shitty job at explaining the mechanics of everything and how the D&D system works--I was running around using spells, cantrips, not understanding why things were greyed out, etc. and this video explained everything :') I've been a gamer since I was a kid but I've never played a game like this before and kept getting so frustrated at the lack of tutorials/clear explanations for things in the game!
Great tutorial for beginners! Why when I press O for the tactical camera, I don't get a complete 90 degrees view like you show in the video? My camera stays more zoom out, but about a 45 degree
I was wondering why I was having massive difficulties only 16 hours in. I have never played DND/BG and have been playing on Tactician because I always play games on the hardest difficulty. Lol
100 hours later, I had to come back and give you proper thanks. Without you and this video, I wouldn't have been able to give this game a proper chance, but I'm loving every minute.
Yeah, this game can probably be overwhelming to beginners and thats kinda sad, because Im sure, there will be people who give up because on that on a game they would otherwise enjoy
I dont like to look up tutorials usually . But i feel like i have to . I figured out how to move and stuff but . What are saving rolls ? How to get an advantage ? Why do i miss alot . I need to understand the rolls . Im about to find out !
Amazing beginner's guide, thank you so much. As a complete noob to D&D I watched so many beginners videos but they were all about character building and/or how to add up the values of the dice, it meant absolutely nothing to me because I am a complete beginner and know nothing about this game. This is the first beginners guide that actually introduces you into every aspect of the game and tells you about the things that really matter to a beginner extremely well. I realize how much work it is to make such a video so liked and subscribed, it's the least I can do.
I don’t think I’ve ever commented on a UA-cam video before but this legitimately might be the most helpful video I’ve ever seen. Incredible work, now back to passive viewing for another 15 years.

Great video tutorial, I have subscribed to your channel!!
Excellent beginner's guide!
😊
😊The
Bro, YOU KILLED THIS OVERVIEW I watched whole thing before even starting the game.
Finally! Someone who actually shows each step, explains navigating and doesn't talk to us like we already know everything! ❤
exactly this is quite confusing for us newbies on this kind of games
I really need a "Video Games for Dummies" channel.
Lol, i got stuck on the 1st mission where you have to make it to the transponder thing. I was trying to kill the Boss and failing.
Yep!! So useful, in the first “beginners”video I watched the person kept talking about points and math and adding and subtracting ahhhhhhhhhhhh 😂
@CozyKode lol just came from there. I've actually played DnD and other tabletop rpgs but I've never played BG before so I don't need to learn about attributes I need the mechanics of this game lol
The best guide there is and somehow totally spoiler free. Well done mate.
thank you for posting it is spoiler free :)
Thank you posting it's spoiler free! The last two I watched didn't even give a spoiler warning when giving away major plot points. Now I can just hit play and enjoy
I wish more people could produce such well-done guides to understanding and enjoying the content they are representing.. Well Done Sir, Well Done!
thanks so much!
Agreed! Very well done! Earned a new sub here! Very few can articulate what they are playing as well as this guy does! Can think of 3 or 4 others I can sit through a whole video of and come out feeling wiser and more prepared on the other end!

Glad I could help!
This is the best and most complete video i ve seen as a guide, it s really well explained, it s not too fast or too slow, it s perfect. Thank you so much.
You're welcome! My pleasure 🙏
Thanks for putting this together, I bought the game and made it to Emerald's Grove before I got totally overwhelmed. This is so helpful.
Amazing, spoiler-free, detailed guide. Best one I’ve seen for new players. Thanks, you’ve got a new sub!!

Much appreciated!

Thank you so much for this video i am a newbie, i could get it for the ps5 but i am waiting for a xbox realease hoping they do do cross play sometime soon so i can play with my friend on his laptop to my xbox
Well, let's see if I can play the game after this guide.
I'm glad it worked for them....but I'd prefer if every single player game didn't do the early access for 4 years route in order to keep up dev costs
Well done, great review.
Good video, thanks!
The only beginner's guide that doesn't require its own beginner's guide. Thank you.
You're welcome!
Excellent video, learnt a lot, thank you!
Thanks
Wow thank you so much!! 🙏❤️
@@LuckyGhost You're welcome! Thanks for the tips. :)
Great guide :)
Thanks! Appreciate that. Very helpful.
Thank you LG🎉
Bravo, well done! TY
Excellent video
Great tutorial for beginners!
Why when I press O for the tactical camera, I don't get a complete 90 degrees view like you show in the video? My camera stays more zoom out, but about a 45 degree
I am about as anti save scumming as you can get. I just got this game and am trying to see how a blind, permadeath playthrough goes on tactician.
Great video
I was wondering why I was having massive difficulties only 16 hours in. I have never played DND/BG and have been playing on Tactician because I always play games on the hardest difficulty. Lol
If you’ve watched this video, gained anything from it, and didn’t like the video, you’re fucking wrong.
New Xbox player here. This guide is better than any other guide out there and the in game tutorial!
thanks so much!
Sounds stupid but I feel overwhelmed idk what class to play its so much never play this type of game before
thank you SO much
Thanks man
Any time!
finished game thanks for helps.
100 hours later, I had to come back and give you proper thanks. Without you and this video, I wouldn't have been able to give this game a proper chance, but I'm loving every minute.
so glad you've enjoyed it!! and glad I was able to help :D
Same here
Yeah, this game can probably be overwhelming to beginners and thats kinda sad, because Im sure, there will be people who give up because on that on a game they would otherwise enjoy
I dont like to look up tutorials usually . But i feel like i have to . I figured out how to move and stuff but . What are saving rolls ? How to get an advantage ? Why do i miss alot . I need to understand the rolls . Im about to find out !
@@DeadlyRogueeeoh yeah I was gone give up but can’t
Incredible work, now back to passive viewing for another 15 years.
it means a lot that you would come out of your passive viewing to say this. I appreciate you, and this comment, more than you know
Proud of you my guy. See you next decade!!
FYI the Dark Urge is actually the main character of the Baldur's Gate series and picks up after the events of Baldur's Gate 2 Throne of Bhaal
