    I just downloaded both apps for delivery driving. Uber eats is STILL processing my background check (going on day 5), whereas Postmates had me cleared and ready to drive in about 10 min... so I'll be launching PM first. When I get to the point of running both apps, do I actually have to close out one of the apps to do the other... basically like "clocking" out and then back in?

    • @Drivetowin13
      @Drivetowin13  4 роки тому +4

      So a few things 1. Eats does take awhile on the background check for some reason which is kind of strange because they use the same company as postmates.
      2. I always recommend focusing on one or the other first so you get your guarantee for using the referral code once you get paid from postmates on your guarantee the switch over and do the same thing with eats.
      3. Once you are ready to run both at the same time you can basically turn both on and as soon as you get a ping on one just turn the other off. Does all that make sense?

      @pcinsomniak 4 роки тому

    You totally overlooked the absolute most important differences of these two: auto insurance. Uber Eats provides collision insurance for you while on a delivery and liability while on a pick-up. Post Mates only provides the liability and provides no insurance for your vehicle. This is really important since personal auto insurance does not cover most drivers while engaging in business activities (ie, gigs).

    • @Drivetowin13

      It really won't matter much after Q1 as uber has purchased postmates so the insurance thing will probably be the same

    • @Drivetowin13
      @Drivetowin13  4 роки тому +1

      The main reason why I did not include that info was because I also drive for Uber and Lyft as the same so it is hard to calculate specific to eats and postmates however I will say this I usually focus on food delivery 11:00am - 2:00pm and again 5:00pm - 7:00pm except on weekend nights where I do not do food delivery at lunch time but focus on dinner and after bar crowds. Miles is all over the place as there are times where I am focusing on shorter trips and so I do not drive many miles at all however I average around 150-200 miles per driving day overall which includes Uber and Lyft. I am planning on do a full shift of just eats/postmates and give all the data however it would be very skewed right now and not real accurate because of all the virus issues. Does that help?

    Just started delivering for Postmates. Is there any setting or trick so that I only get prepaid orders?
    Also let's say the customer isn't available to get there food for whatever reason. What do I do from there after trying to call/texting the customer. will I get paid for the delivery still?
    Lastly I'm not getting many pings for Postmates even while driving around hotspots. Any suggestions

    • @Drivetowin13
      @Drivetowin13  4 роки тому +3

      Jessie The best thing you can do to only get prepaid orders is to contact postmates and tell them you lost your card, when they send you a new one don't activate it....if the customer is not available you just go into the menu and select can't find customer, postmates will start a timer and they will notify the customer they have 5 minutes if they aren't out there by then your good to leave.....as for the pings it is really hard to say if you are in a hot spot and it's around food time you should be getting the pings. Maybe your hotspot isn't so hot I would try a new spot. One other thing is try driving around even if it's just around the block if postmates detects your car is moving then they know you are ready to go pick up orders vs sitting in your house.

  • @JK-is4bz

    Nice informative and thorough videos man.
    I've been driving for Postmates. I've always thought that when I get a second(or third/fourth) delivery while I'm on one at the moment and that new delivery gets canceled; that means that the customer canceled it to try their luck at another driver getting their order faster. I now figure that this is not always the case as you say that drivers who just pop online get offered orders that drivers already have in their queue.
    Do you know if what I thought originally is ever the case? Do customer's get charged for canceling or requesting another driver? This all might depend on if the order is pick up or order and pay. I've never used the app as a customer.
    The more I think about the algorithm, the more possibilities seem to be plausible.

    • @Drivetowin13
      @Drivetowin13  3 роки тому

      When you are originally offered the 2nd and 3rd orders you are the best option to get to order to the customer on time however if another driver comes online then they become the best option and it is removed from you and given to them.

      I assume by you saying you're riding that mean bike. If so that's your issue because you are limited to much less orders because you can't go long distance. My advise would be to run multiple apps at the same time have both ubereats and postmates running and double your chances.

    I got this on my email today.
    Today, we are excited to share that Uber Eats and Postmates are officially teaming up.
    While there are no immediate changes, and you can continue to earn on both the Uber Eats and Postmates apps as usual, we will be working over the coming months to make sure that the partnership means more access to customers and orders across the United States. Stay tuned for more information.

      Yes uber acquired postmates a few months ago. Over the next few months they will merge.

      I do doordash as well and it is interesting because different markets are different. In some places DD sucks and in some markets eats or postmates suck.

    At least I will get to talk to another Postmates driver in America that speaks English and don't follow a script like a robot. Someone will actually understand the English language

      Drive to win 13 I had a very bad experience with them. They are slackers not updating menus, aren’t actually affiliated with many businesses they go through and most of all it’s a slow service. I do deliveries now like bam! Bam! Bam! Bam! Whooo hooo! Postmates is wack! But hey..results may very from person to person

    • @Drivetowin13
      @Drivetowin13  4 роки тому

      Could also very from market to market because I do not have any of those issues.

      Drive to win 13 not being affiliated with a restaurant has nothing to do with variance.

      @@jamesfutalk9121 well it could if it's not a major chain. I have a few local places that are not affiliated with postmates but it hasn't been a major issue and if it is I learn real quickly which resturanunts to not accept orders from as an example there is a resturanunt down town that has zero parking unless you pay which I won't do so whenever i see that location pop up i decline it.
