When I started driving for Uber Eats a few years ago, I had no idea how to get started or how Uber Eats works. Hopefully this video can help answer any questions you may have about the process. There is not really a formal Uber Eats driver training, so I'm here to help as an experienced driver! Everything from how to get the most tips, to what to do when a customer cancels the order. Being an Uber Eats delivery driver has it's pros and cons, and hopefully I gave plenty of info for you to decide if it's the right fit for you.
Please leave any questions in the comments, I will be sure to answer each one!
Info on additional bonus:
If you have completed your designated number of trips to get a bonus, send me an email here: moyerw30@gmail.com
This is what you will need to include in the email so I can verify who it's coming from:
-First and last name
-City & state you signed up in
If I received a bonus of $50 or more for signing you up, I will send you that $50 on Paypal! (Unfortunately I can only do Paypal) You may email me with questions about this bonus as well, but please leave any general questions about Uber Eats in the comment section of this video :)

I love it. After working for a restaurant that was completely toxic, this is the best decision I ever made. No dealing with people. Just pick up and drop off. No boss. No ignorant coworkers. Loving it!
How much can u make in just looking for a side job
@@brandonUwanawich954 can make as much or as little as you want. I've made $300 in a day.
Kim Hammerquist I tried signing up I’m added on as a driver for my fathers insurance and they declined me but Lyft approved me doesn’t make sense
@@brandonUwanawich954 no it doesn't.
@@brandonUwanawich954 I'm sorry.
Pro tip Don’t do lunch just do dinner. When people order lunch at work they go back to work and I forgot about the app and barley tip. Rich people order between 5pm and 8pm big tips
Sounds about right. Thanks Eric!
@Daniel Brockman huihhouii
Thank you
In my market rich people don’t tip well!
Always leave a personalized text when you leave the restaurant. It let's the customer know you care about how quickly you are delivering their food and they seem to tip better for fast delivery. Also send the in app thanks for the tip because you may get same customer again, they may remember you, they may tip better second time around.
Smart!
Havent they already paid for the tip by then?
@@nodustflyzone they can reduce a tip up to an hour after delivery.
I love the fact that you took your time to explain everything into details Thank you for sharing
I thought the same thing. Good job!!!
Good attitude, pro active, good communication skills, pay attention to details and the notes are very important . I have been on Uber eats for only 4 days . I completed 67 trips , I got 100% approval rates. Why because I followed my rules . At the end of the day you gotta make it fun . Always time yourself, customers love that . They will always leave good feedbacks. Have a great day day y’all .
I’ve made $120 in 3 hours doing Uber eats in D.C! Love it
I wish. 3hours I make 50-60
I've make $100 in 5 hours
bangmeister2012 yes they do, I don’t think it’s legal in any state or district to drive around without insurance?
@bangmeister2012 they check. I accidentally sent an expired insurance id card and they told me to update it. I do have insurance, just forgot to download the current policy to my computer when I signed up
@bangmeister2012 doordash is the only one that doesnt check.
First time I’ve ever felt like I needed to research something on UA-cam and found everything I needed in one video. Thanks, gonna send this to my wife to convince her 😂😂
My wife and I are Uber drivers now! We are doing everything you recommended in the video! I made a 10$ tip my first night! Thanks so much!
Started driving last week and I made over 50 trips in a week and made a total of 350.00 in a week. Went gold in a couple days. I was shocked but happy. My peak times are dinner times. I also have a bag that I use and also pull it out while with the customer. And I do have the Uber debit card. I’m glad I’m on the right path.
350.00 a week is awful, a minimum wage job can pay more than 350.00 a week
Do they require 4 door vehicle, is 2 door vehicle allowed?
Ammar that’s still good for her, let’s acknowledge that! I’m sure that isn’t her sole source of income
350 for 50 trips is way low. You are doing something wrong. 30 trips a week pays about 450 in ohio.
I just started yesterday i made 10 trips in 5 hours I made 123, I think I did good it was my first day 😊
I've been doing it since August and already made a 57 trips and my tips are 1. Always use another your phone GPS if you have an android always you Google maps because the actual uber GPS is useless 2. And it ties into the first one always write down the customers name and reference number in case the app is down and you can't mark it as delivered and you have to call customer service. 3. Invest in one of those heating/cooling delivery bags because that helps alot 4. Keep a car charger in handy to charge your phone 5. Keep all gas and other car expenses receipts for taxes at the beginning of the year. And 6. Use the promotions uber offers because that's a little bit of extra cash in your pocket can go a long way. Those are 6 tips I use and recommend for anybody whose a uber driver like myself or thinking about becoming one.
This is the best uber eats video I have ever seen. This man speaks the truth. I am somewhat dismayed by the recent pay cut that Uber eats has instrumented for drivers. In my area, I am now continually getting $3.00 trips. This is the minimum, but these trips used to pay 3.75 to 5.00. I also do some Doordash and the different pay rates have become much wider. The same trip on Uber vs Doordash is often 4-5 dollars difference. I can't help wonder if Uber eats is creating a problem that will come back to hurt them, as in drivers deserting due to the low rates.
Paul Walker Uber Eats doesn’t include the tip. Like in the video they may tip an hour or a week after delivery. But Doordash included the tip when you see the order right away, making it seem like a bigger payout. It seems like Uber eats sucks but it’s actually better in my opinion for pay, just takes patience for the tips to come thru
Exactly I watch other videos people talking about their life for talking about Uber eats this guy got right to the point and it was no clickbait
Thanks for the tips.
I've been driving with UE for about 6 months now. Some days I get non-stop and others I get nothing, so I truly understand the ups and downs of this.
I started doing this because I was diagnosed with spinal stenosis and it makes it hard for me to stand for long periods of time ( about 20 minutes and i'm in so much pain that my legs and back lock up) so this was perfect for me. I really enjoy meeting all the new people and I even have a few regulars that are always glad to see that i'm on and making their deliveries. And the staff at the restaurants are always happy to see me, even when I'm going there for my own dinner with my wife.
Thanks again and I have subscribed !!
The worst thing that has happened though is that UE has taken away the referral bonuses in my area and all the promotions. The closest would be like you going to Chattanooga for the promotion times.
Man, thanks! Really nice of you to share this content! I'm retired, moving to a new metro area, new chapter in my life. Looking forward to making this work!
Thank you for this, I signed up with Uber a few weeks ago, I’ve only done about 15 trips. Today I decided to sign up to drive for Uber eats this morning. I am in Atlanta as well, Brookhaven area, I think I’m in the perfect location for Uber eats orders!
I’m glad I found this video! I’m also in the Atlanta area and just signed up for Uber eats today. Thanks for the advice.
I love how you simplified everything! You also helped me to figure out how I needed to go about filing my taxes for Uber! Thank You!
I have 3 days searching for a video to explain how uber eats driver works, I didn't find until I found this helpful video, this video explains everything about Uber eats driver. Thank you so much
Bro i just started and i live in Atlanta too! This is definitely something that fits me and my life and I’m excited to see how it works
Thanks for the review. I decided to sign up as a side hustle. I'm in Atlanta also!
I just signed up to ubereats & did my first deliveries yesterday! Absolutely loved it
This put me so much at ease! I just moved to a new city for a job and wanted to pick up a side hustle, and I figured a delivery job would be perfect since I'd essentially be getting paid to learn the streets. My cousin recommended Uber Eats, so I started looking up videos, found this, and you laid everything out and answered my questions perfectly! Gonna be applying later today. Thank you for this video and good luck to everybody else stepping into Uber Eats!
I was thinking about driving for uber eats and you totally made my mind up for me to do it.. thanks for ur encouragement!!
My hubby first day of Uber eats and Lyft. Thanks for the info. You are amazing😍ty
Got to hand it to you, out of ALL the videos I have watched.... Yours has been THE BEST. I plan on driving for Uber Eats soon (currently they are running my background), and your video was easy to understand, you had great tips, and you just laid it all out and re-enforced the importance of customer service. I appreciate everything you had to say in the video. Thank you.
This is seriously one of the BEST videos I’ve seen for Uber eats tips/ info. !!! Thank you for the great details 😊
Great info ! I’m about to start driving for Uber & Lyft , including Uber Eats
I drive for Uber Eats Part-time, so far I like it. It has its pros and cons, but every delivery app does. I do it because it helps out for rent.
I found this looking to see how to tip drivers (never used Uber Eats or any other similar service) and was impressed with the format of your video. Very concise and informative, consider teaching.
Ur awesome bro, I appreciate you taking the time to break everything down. I just got approved a few days ago and really needed this info god bless
I do plenty of breakfast deliveries, especially Sat and Sun, in Columbus, OH...It is not as lucrative as driving during surge times, but it does all right considering the time of day, which is more ideal for me than late nights...
Thank you, I've been looking for the perfect side hustle and I think this is it!
i'm glad someone invented Uber
Funny Story. I Have Had this happen to me 2 Times Somebody Not Answer The Phone, door, etc while Delivering Food on a Saturday night and I Had To Start The Timer. I Have Had The BEST Chicken Alfredo & Mediterranean Food Ever. Some Of The Best Days Delivering 🤣
Ya ubereats can be great... especially when you get some free food. It’s also a nice break from deal with people if you do uber driving as well.
How do you get free food?
You make amazing sense!! I had my 1st Rodeo tonight in a city coming from the country. Love it! Addicting lol. We should meet
Hey I just saw your video and I have to say that that was the most thorough video on Uber Eats that I've ever seen! Thank you for making the video. I'll definitely sign up once I get a few things taken care of. Thank you SO much for doing this amazing video! I had some unanswered questions and wasn't sure if I should do it. You definitely helped me make up my mind. Thanks again! When I sign up I'll go through your link!
Thank you so much. Starting today and this totally eased my concerns. Wish I had saw this before I signed up. Lol
Solid info. Answered a lot of my questions. Thanks!
Glad I could help! Let me know if any questions come up 👍
All the information shown in this video about Driving For Uber Eats is totally great, it really is interesting and entertaining for me to see everything related to this topic, thank you very much for sharing it
You are a lifesaver TY. New UE driver wasn't sure which button to press for my first order - so I jumped on YT bc cust service was unable to connect w me 🤗
Thanks for the tips man! I'm going to apply since I need a job right now, hopefully it all goes well.
How did it go ?
Wow, good advice bro. I'm thinking of starting up since I need to make some extra cash. Thanks for doing this for people.
THANK YOU... thank you. This video was so comprehensive and well organized. Well done!
TY for taking the time to do this. I've been travelling the western US, started in Boise, Then Tucson, now settled in Colorado. Sadly in Grand Junction there are no partners aka promotions. BUT... I dunno if it is an Uber incentive or I am doing a great job, but I make 2-6 bucks per delivery on tips. My average on the last 2 Sundays was 6 bucks tip on each delivery. I love the freedom, would rather deliver people-but my car is too old. I work a part time security job which has little beni's, so I may keep that. Oh, I prayed for some $ and My Father above arranged to have a lady tip me $50 in Tucson once. Thanks---
Best job to do you don't have to depend on anybody I even do it I'm doing it on bike and I love it
I’m going to go ahead give this a shot thanks for the advice! Let’s see how this goes
so how'd it go?
so how'd it go, number 2?
Hi , I want to say you have said everything so up front, I was able to get all the information you gave, I appreciate all that you"'ve said. I am not an Uber eats drive yet, but am getting as much information that I can have in order to get started with it, thank you so much for this information.
I’m ready to sign up for Uber eats and really appreciate this video. I’m in GA as well and plan on doing it part time. Such great tips like the text and using the hot bag! Thanks so much!
Kim B. I’m in Georgia as well. Tonight was my first time delivering with Uber Eats and I made $75 in 3 hours. I hope I can keep that up!
I did Uber eats today and in one day I’ve made $130
Do they do drug tests?
How many ride is that? And subtract the gas money
@@santiagodelacruz5167 obviously not u dont see them in person. But stop being a stoner on the job😂
santiago de la cruz no they don’t
LayzHD it’s about 15 trips and if I take gas money I still made 110 dollars, but I live I Portland so I wouldn’t get as many trips as nyc does
Good overview of Ubereats! One thing I've found that helps with earnings is seeing where the majority of your money is coming from. This can be done by looking at your earnings and determining if most of your money is coming from quests, boosts or tips. From there, you can place a focus on prioritizing areas in your market that offer more opportunities to get paid that way so you can see an increase in money made. Keep up the good work.
Where do you find quests? I have been doing UE for a week and still don't see any quests. Also, I have yet to come across any boosts. I do get fairly good tips though. 30 to 40% of my earnings is tips.
You can find boosts and quests under promotions in the Uber app. It's all subject to market demand though so if your market already has a lot of drivers, you'll see fewer quests and boost. If you don't see any, it probably means your market isn't offering them currently.
I live in Atlanta too! props to you for driving in that city!
Thanks for your time explaining all that
🙏🏻
"Do I ever eat anyone's food? No, basically. " soooo yes lol great video though, very positive and informative. I think I might try this out sometime :)
That's great, I just about have all my documents approved and now just waiting for my Insurance Document to get approved and then I hope after that I can start. Back in Early September I lost my job, place I was working at started getting toxic, not people around me just how everything was set up, over time started getting sick, have days off cause of stress sickness and that's what got me the sack. I chose to work with Uber Eats cause I always wanted to be in control and feel free working and being in a workplace I liked, not only that but I am getting sick of tired of not getting responses from job applications, not to mention the amount of jobs these days that require previous experience.
I am not putting my hopes into making a lot of money right away, I have my mind set to take things slow and get use to the work before becoming better at uber eats.
WinterCraft good job man :)
How’s it coming along for you? I find it’s very easy to make $700-$1400 per week
I just started delivering for Uber eats last week and I love it so far but I live in Athens about 60 miles from Atlanta and it’s not that bad but thank you so much for all these tips that you’ve given
thanks for going into detail with your explanation, throwing ma hands up in the air . Bless your heart & have a super day :)
I deliver food with Uber eats in Vancouver, BC about twice a week/4-5 hours each time. It is so much fun! I have regular customers, for me i like creating community via my deliveries and making lots of friends. I would like to see Uber pay something for driving to restaurants, currently you are paid only driving from the restaurant to a person's home. Uber is all about customer service, I find people whom order with Uber tend to really like a little extra attention and care, verses just dropping off the food and leaving. Many like a little bit of a conversation if you don't have another delivery to go to. Or for you to text little comments throughout the delivery, like I am on my way. or after take care and enjoy your meal.
Tips are very high I find dependent on providing genuine, caring good customer service. I average 23-50 dollars an hour, but you must put the work in and provide excellent service! Have fun and enjoy your customers!
Tips are definitely better when you send nice texts.
I live in van too, do u need to ensure ur car for delivery Insurance?
Hoping to boss my market when I get approved hopefully next week
Glad to know you’re from Vancouver. Have you done DoorDash before? Or
Driving Lyft or UberX?
@@goldenblooms6672 I haven't but I have met drivers whom deliver for DoorDash. We all chat while we wait for our orders, they have all told me they really like delivering for DoorDash. I have read poor reviews re: working for DoorDash, but I think like Uber they are neutral platforms and it is up to you what you want to do with them. For example with Uber, I have heard some driver's complain that the rating system is to high, but Uber attracts customers whom like a little extra for customer service, and they will tip well for it. They like nice messages from me, and smiles at the door, and their food hot. Thus Uber's business model is excellent customer service, I don't know DoorDash's business model but as noted the driver's I have met all really like the platform and their customers.
Been driving for lyft a while just signed up for Uber eats I get anxiety really bad when a passenger comes Into my car think this will work out better for me and I can also drive with my baby thank you 😊
Ggg G congrats on the baby !!!!
Do not leave your baby in the car...🤦🏽
Oh my 🥺
Man thanks 😊
I love your video makes many sense
I’m out here in Japan and just getting started, your video really help
Excellent video!! You did mention writing off mileage and maintenance expenses, you can’t double dip so it’s important to keep receipts, track mileage (as you mentioned) and talk with someone about tax strategy. I just started doing Uber Eats and have enjoyed it so far.
One of the things I don't like about UE is the fact that it doesn't show where you're delivering to.
They are actually changing that later this month! Delivery requests will finally say the restaurant name, and apparently the total time of the trip will be more accurate. New feature should be up and running late next week. We'll see!
You can see it in the map if you can remember to pay attention to it. I always forget because i get so excited lol
Not to mention UE will float you 30 miles away from your starting point in less than 1 hour delvering 2 tacos from jack n the box even though there are 15 jack n the boxes on the way closer go figure
@@vpisces85 This isn't the case in my market.
@@ASTONVILLIN42 Uber doesn't do that, the customer does, which Uber has no control over...Getting bounced further and further from my area is frustrating but Uber's system is artificially intelligent and deliberately dumb at the same time...
Thanks for the info. I just signed up for this, and am a bit nervous about starting. The thing I’m most worried about is getting stuck in traffic in the middle of delivery because of construction or something. What would you do in that situation?
Best of luck! That probably won't happen that often, but if it does the customer will have an update on the estimated time of delivery. And I believe now you get paid a bit extra for the time.
Thanks a lot for sharing this detailed information on Driving For Uber Eats..
Dude this was very helpful, thank you!
I did my 1st ubereats trip today, any chance to still get sign up bonus?
Thanks for the info!! Thinking about signing up , is there anyway I can check the amount of work in the area I will be working before I invest in a new vehicle? (Thinking of a motorbike/scooter) but like I say, I would really like to know there's enough work before hand if possible? TIA
Sorry for the late response! I'm not really sure how you would check that. My best idea would be to download the Uber Eats app (as if you're ordering food) and see what restaurants in your area are on there. Should give you a pretty good idea of how much volume there is. If the delivery fees are low (less than $5 or so) then that's a good indicator there are a lot of Uber Eats drivers in your area filling the demand. If you see a lot of high delivery fees (sometimes as much as $15 or $20 !!!) then that is a good indicator that there is a need for a lot more drivers in your area. This is the way they entice drivers to work more hours, by increasing fees and offering them more pay 👍 Other than that, you could always visit a few restaurants in your area that participate and ask them roughly how many Uber Eats orders they receive, busy times of day etc. Hope this helps!! Let me know if you have any more questions 👍
@@MoyerOfficial ok mate nice one!! If I do peruse it further I will definitely give that a go! Thanks for taking the time to give a detailed reply, it's much appreciated! 👍🏼 hope all's well
I just signed up.. I hope get good at it and don't mess up.. thanks for the info guys
Thanks so much, today is my first day. I’m excited 😊
What does the "NOT READY" mean in the app? (Where you see what the customer ordered)
You would select that "Not Ready" button if you are waiting to pick up an order at a restaurant and the order is not ready yet. It lets Uber know you are actually waiting on the food to be ready, not just taking your time! It also helps them with estimating how long deliveries will take etc. 👍
Thanks for watching! Let me know if you have any questions. Here is my referral link, go collect that bonus! partners.uber.com/i/w3fj7qvd4
MoyerOfficial big help thanks 😊
MoyerOfficial do you have any idea how much I will pay back when I do my taxes ?
I have made $7000 so far for the year. Will I be able to put my miles phone bill etc. please let me know based on your experience
@@sergestrada2 It will depend on how much your total income for the year is. So I'm pretty sure your tax rate will be decided based on your overall income, not only what you made with Uber Eats. But yes you can write off mileage, and should include car maintenance expenses too. For mileage you will only be able to write off the miles you were actively driving for Uber Eats, can't include personal use. Same goes for phone bill. You would have to calculate "how much" of your total monthly phone bill you are utilizing while driving for Uber. That can get a little tricky, so i would suggest getting in touch with an accountant for this first year. They will teach you all the things you'll need to know for the next year as well. Worth the investment! The tax side of it can be a bit of a headache the first year but it gets easier after that!
@@sergestrada2 As far as how much you'll have to pay in taxes on that $7,000 it will depend on any other income you're reporting for the year. So for example if that $7,000 was the only income you had for the year, you'd probably be paying back between a few hundred dollars up to $1,000 or so (rough estimate). But let's say you made $40k or $50k total this year and $7k of that is from Uber. You'll be paying more in tax dollars on that $7k because your total income is greater. If that makes sense?
Is the app titled "uber" on the play store? Because I wasn't sure if the app has a different name to it than people who pick people up on uber instead of one that is just for uber eats
Great video! Most helpful UberEats how to I’ve seen.
Appreciate you for dedicating your time making this video
Thank you for making this video. I do have a question: does Uber give priority to driver's with high acceptance rates, high ratings, and zero to low cancellations? In other words, does having these things make it so Uber gives you access more (high earning) trips?
I've wanted to know the same. So, I hope someone will let us know.
I've had to cancel 3 orders in one week because when I go to pick up the restaurants are closed! (Wendy's & Burger King) I hope that's not held against me 🤔 I was annoyed I wasted my gas and time going to pick up orders from places that were closed! 😭
Great question. Thanks
@@elisabethhallstein8644 so when that happens. You can call Uber eats about that order and ask for compensation and they will cancel the order for you (which won’t affect you) and give you an extra $3 compensation
DFW I signed up before watching vids and didnt use a referral code.. 😭😔🤦🏻♂️
This was outstanding!! Keep up the good work that you do. Great advise!! Thanks!!
Love the Video. Your explanation was superb.
How do you verify the food and make sure the restaurant didnt forget anything? I kinda hope drivers aren't rifling through the food they are delivering to see it's all there.
It is pretty easy to check what they ordered on your driver app, and then reference that against the order when you're picking it up. All the restaurants have to include a receipt when you pick up, so it's really more making sure there are the right number of items (rather than opening every box etc) 👍
@@MoyerOfficial ah that makes sense. Nice video :)
I've started carrying a small stapler with me. I staple the bag closed and the receipt on the bag. That way the customer knows I did't eat their fries and I can say I only checked the receipt not the contents. If there are a lot of condiments requested I can also quickly staple a bag together using a napkin. Keeps me from having to spend time rummaging around the bottom of my hot bag!
You must be making bank on those referrals!
Amazing video,I learn many things about driving for uber eats from this video.
What a gifted presenter you are! Thanks
How did u get your free bag? I feel ready now to start delivering. I already signed up before seeing this video. Sorry Moyer. Wish me luck.
They actually mailed one to me after I got approved to drive. I have heard other drivers say they don't provide bags anymore. If not, you can get a few at any grocery store for less than $5 each usually 👍
They recently got rid of the referral bonuses in my area (Denver) are they still doing them in your area? Good tips 👍nice video
Ahh that sucks. Yep they are still doing them in Atlanta currently. Hope they don't go away! 😬
On October 1,2019 they got rid of the bonus in my area too (North West Indiana)
Thanks for the very useful information.
Thank you. Very informative and helpful.
I wish Uber or Uber eat could make more then my full time job so I can quit working for someone...going thru the comments it's kind of disappointed for the pay out .
I do it full time in the Portland, OR metro area and make an average of $20 an hr. So for working in my own terms is really not bad at all. Was making an average of $1000 a week when I just started but cut down cuz I was exhausting myself. But if you're willing to put the time in and you don't mind driving I'd say you should be able to make decent money.
What city are you working
Wow great video dude but i gotta say after 3000 trips in 8 months in los angeles area no more quests pay cut and more pay cuts horrible customer service im done with this shady. Company ill stick with DOORDASH AND POSTMATES. but i do like your video
Thanks for sharing the video ...I know how to drive but never thought of this profession..As my state women uber eat driver are less so I think this is a chance for me to join this venture
