Heart ❤️ is Ann & Nancy Wilson; they can sing anything. Aside from the songs, I think it’s funny the guys think everyone is the best they ever heard (for the first time dudes) who don’t they think is the best? 🤔
I think Jason kicking in where his dad left off was the reason for Robert’s tears. He was very close to John Bonham and after his death felt they couldn’t go on without him.

What is extra special is that John Bonham was Robert Plants best friend and after his passing Robert was never the same. Plant was moved to tears this evening seeing his best friend and band mates son playing on stage with his dad's hat on. Near the end of the song Jason looked up as to say Dad this was for you! Very powerful evening for all who witnessed this. Heart is a Class Act!

I have seen this many times and I still get tears in my eyes. It's very emotional because it is beyond belief. It takes me to another realm between Ann's singing. I still can’t believe I saw Heart in concert and they ended with Stairway, my mom and I literally cried the whole song. The Wilson sisters are amazing!!!!
I live in Los Angeles. In 2004-05, I went to the Hard Rock Cafe at the Beverly Center in Beverly Hills to watch a Led Zeppelin cover band (Led Zepagain) play in front of Jimmy Page and his wife for a fund raiser for her. The band played a couple-three songs then members from other band like Alice In Chains, Soundgarden and several other bands sat in on drums, guitar, base and vocals. Just TRY to imagine being a highly successful rock star but wanting to play for the Master, Jimmy Page? I sat at a table about 10-15 feet away from Jimmy’s table. It was the most surreal night of my life!! A guitar professor from Musicians Institute played The Song Remains the Same on a white double neck guitar just like Jimmy’s. All these established rock stars just bowing to Jimmy Page.
This is the ONLY acceptable cover of Stairway To Heaven. The band HEART was the ONLY band capable of doing this song justice, Ann Wilson’s voice is still incredible just as it was back in the 70’s with songs like “Crazy On You” and “Barracuda”. Great reaction video guys.
I believe that the kit Jason is playing here, the orange Plexi Ludwig kit, is actually the drum kit that his father used on the original recording of "Stairway....". This whole performance is so emotional, loved all the bowler hats and when Jason looks up to heaven at the end..........RIP Bonzo.
@@rodciferri9626 I know, I was at that gig in 2007, the Ahmet Ertegun Tribute Concert at the O2, and it was bloody amazing! I never knew about the hat though, I just thought it was any old bowler that was in tribute.
I saw a interview with john paul jones and he said robert never new Jason Bonham was going to be playing the drums and he was thinking of john most of the song. I cant watch this without tearing up a bit best band ever
I've heard on several occasions (never researched to confirm) that Robert had actually called Jason to invite him to be there as a guest that night. Jason said that he couldn't - he had another commitment. Robert was a little disappointed, because Zep considered this kind of a big deal and Jason was a little offhand about it. That's why Robert seemed so surprised and happy to see Jason was on drums . Imagine having to keep that secret until the night of? Sweet story.
Her voice and the rest of the sound in the video they are sharing is muffled as compared to the original video. Check that out here: ua-cam.com/video/LFxOaDeJmXk/v-deo.html
You are 100% correct in saying this is the best cover song ever. It is. Heart (Ann Wilson-lead singer) and Nancy Wilson (guitar) were huge fans and influenced by Led Zeppelin. They were legendary in their own right. Two of the first rock and roll women. I remember watching this when it was aired the first time on TV and was stunned like you at how amazing it was. I watched it over and over. It gave me chills and goosebumps and still does today. It is the perfect song as it starts slows and builds slowly to a climatic ending. Perfection.
Time to listen to some Heart! Try “Barracuda” and “Magic Man”. It fits your song profiles and give you a reaction to a female lead (from this video). And they rock nasty.
I've watched this performance a couple dozen times - it still gives me goose bumps! In my opinion, the is the best live performance of this song next to Led Zeppelin's own performance of it at Madison Square Garden in 1973. Of course, Heart had a little help with a spectacular full orchestra and chorus - amazing!
You finally get it. The greatest rock song EVER!! Led Zepplin is the greatest most innovative rock band. Wilson sisters did a deserving great tribute to the song and the band
What really made my brain explode was seeing the great cellist Yo-Yo Ma rocking out in the audience! Your honest reactions and love made me subscribe. You'll love Heart, the singer and her sister the guitarist's band.
Great reaction guys! I'm 64 yrs old and been rocking for 50 yrs and every time i hear this i get tears! Best cover ever by far!! Listen to Heart on Barracuda !! Great band
The Full version would have been better to react to but still glad you reacted to it . No one but Heart could have covered this song any better than they did and to get a standing ovation from Robert Plant Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones is the ultimate approval for a cover tribute anyone can get from them .
Evelyn here. Now that you have seen JPJ, Plant and Page as elders watching their songs being played, you REALLY REALLY need to watch at least one song from the live Celebration Day concert at the O2 Arena in London December 2007. Plant was 59 then, Jimmy was 62, almost 63. Watch them as they themselves perform their own songs together for the last time. They were BRILLIANT. A two hour performance, and they were so tight, so in sync, it was wonderful to watch. That performance is a gift to their fans. And Jason Bonham....who was I think just about 40 then, sat in his dad’s chair and played his dad’s kit and was PERFECT. He couldn’t believe he was doing a whole concert with “Zeppelin”, and his dad’s mates were so proud of him! He studied every bootleg he could get ahold of, and knew which fill his dad had done for each song at each concert at each city during each year. I’m not kidding. During rehearsals, he could tell the other members, when they forgot, how they ended each song........and when Jimmy would go off on an improvised riff, Jason could match him just like his dad had, and even tell Jimmy that “oh, that was how you played it in Cleveland in 1972”. Amazing. So yeah, you should watch that entire two-hour concert...maybe do it on Patron. But if not that, then listen to a few songs from it....Kashmir is killer.
First view and comment! This is a great and emotional performance. All you need to know is that Robert Plant is the biggest critic of others playing Stairway and he was moved to tears here! Also, I'm not sure if you guys picked this up but the drummer was the son of John Bonham, Jason Bonham.
Robert Plant and Jason Bonham have ways been pretty close, from what I understand, and that played a huge part in Robert being moved to tears, based on what I’ve read about this performance.
Jason Bonham is also Robert Plant's godson. I believe he was playing on his dad's drum kit...the one used recording the original version with his dad as drummer.
This was from the Kennedy Center Honors tribute to Led Zeppelin. Greatest cover ever!!!!!!!The Wilson Sisters are iconic. And they had to do it in front of Led Zeppelin!!!!!!!! The ladies are in their 60’s here! Now check out THEIR band, Heart!
They've covered almost every song on LZs 4th album. Heard them play Rock and Roll as an encore long ago and you can find many videos of their 2002 Live in Seattle DVD with covers of Black Dog as an encore.
Zeppelin has stated several times they dont like others covering their songs because they never do them justice, but they specifically requested Heart to cover this for the Kennedy Center Honors. Its fitting because if you think about it they are from the same Era. Heart specifically Ann during the 80s was referred to often as the female Led Zeppelin. What better band to cover the most iconic song, a band who lived through the same experiences and would understand just how special and important that song truly was. I cry every time I hear this. I grew up in the 80s/90s listening to both bands. This was amazing.
You know you’ve lived a good life, created something extraordinary, when you’re paid a tribute like that. Did you see the cellist Yo Yo Ma in the audience, totally rocking out? Bonnie Raitt too. I have watched this performance, and peoples’ reaction videos to it more times than I can count. I get goosebumps like you did every single time. This performance is transcendent. I so love your reactions to it. Greetings and blessings from Arizona, USA
The singer is only the greatest female vocalist who ever did it. Ann Wilson is legend. Her sister is a boss on guitars. The rest of the band kicks major ass too. Heart. React to Heart.
There are tons of reaction videos to this on UA-cam. But it is really special when Led Zeppelin fans see this for the first time. They appreciate more than anyone what exactly they have seen here. As was mentioned, this might well be the best live cover/tribute of any song by any artist. And to do it in front of them....just wow. In addition to Heart, the Foo Fighters, Lenny Kravitz, and Kid Rock also performed Zep songs at this event. No one remembers any of those performances. Only Heart. The same guitarist performed with all of them except the Foo Fighters. Dude nailed everything he played.
I love your reaction to this. Every player was amazing and Ann Wilson is perfect. When they cut to the audience, the man in the glasses who is so into this is Yo-Yo Ma, who is considered to be the finest cellist in the world. A classical musician rocking out to Led Zeppelin is a joy to see.
I love watching this incredible tribute to Led Zeppelin by the iconic 80s band Heart. I have seen this tribute several dozen times and always show this to both Led Zeppelin and Heart fans. The aura of this performance is chilling and the choir is magical; this video will always be among one of my most favorite videos. I often seek out first-time reactions to this video and am so turned off by U-Tubers who pause the video to talk. Honestly, it kills the mood for the watcher as well as the forward emotion of the entire tribute vibe; it's like someone who always talks through a thrilling movie; simple comments throughout the video with a comprehensive review at the end is best... Anyway, take it for what it's worth and enjoy future reaction videos!
rocks greatest song of all time from the greatest band of all time. sung by the greatest female rock singer ever. Your reaction was what so many feel. a life experience.
No one else but Heart could have delivered this performance in honour of Led Zeppelin. Ann and Nancy Wilson are great in their own right. Check 🎸 Magic Man, Crazy On You and Barracuda. Enjoying your reactions 👏
This was the last performance of the show that was dedicated to Led Zeppelin. Earlier performances were Foo Fighters singing "Rock and Roll", Kid Rock with "Babe I'm Gonna Leave You", Lennie Kravitz performing "Whole Lotta Love". There were some great performances earlier in the show in the tribute to Buddy Guy, too. You should check out the entire show if you have the time.
Ann Wilson has such a perfect voice for this song. Very powerful! I have watched this video over, and over and over again..... To watch RP, JP and JPJ react to this tribute is absolutely priceless. You want to cry with Robert. The final part of the song with the chorus gives me chills every time! Actually, the whole song does.🔥🔥🔥
Ann and Nancy Wilson have been performing Zeppelin music live in their own Heart concerts since the at least the early 1980's, with the approval of Led Zeppelin themselves.
I have watched this video dozens of times. Especially when I need a pickup. It is powerful, it is inspirational, it is emotional. I tear up EVERYTIME I listen to it. Love your reaction. Genuine, pure and pretty much the same as the first time I watch this amazing cover of an icon song.
And Wilson is so amazing. I saw her in concert not too long ago and she blew us all away in a little town of Fort Pierce Florida. If you ever get a chance to see her go see her
The 1970's classic rock songs are a rabbit hole unto themselves. George, your passion is infectious and on full display. Patrick, your eyes and mind get wider with each selection. Suggestions, The Who: Won't Get Fooled Again, Who Are You & Baba O'Riley. ZZ Top: La Grange, Just Got Paid & Got Me Under Pressure. Allman Brothers Band: One Way Out & Whipping Post. Santana: Soul Sacrifice. Joe Cocker: Cry Me A River, With A Little Help From My Friends & Let's Go Get Stoned. Enjoy Guys.
I read an interview with Ann Wilson. She said Nancy asked her if she was nervous right before they went on stage. Lead singer Ann responded, let's just go out there and do this. We can talk about that later. Legend.
big ask singing in front of Led Zep themselves ..Robert Plant was taken back .. Heart is from Canadia and have some big hits to thier name as well !! good vid guys
Guys, those ladies use to cover Led Zeppelin before they became famous, one night in Seattle Page and Plant went to a club to see Heart play and their show, around the clubs in Los Angeles Heart was know as little Led. Because Ann covered Zeppelin's song so well, glad you guys enjoyed it.

@@rodciferri9626 I know, I was at that gig in 2007, the Ahmet Ertegun Tribute Concert at the O2, and it was bloody amazing! I never knew about the hat though, I just thought it was any old bowler that was in tribute.
@@God-ck5yo Wow - the one in a million ticket! I saw it at a theater and it still surprised me how good they were.
@@rodciferri9626 I lived a few miles from the O2 and my friend worked in the box office there. I was a very very lucky boy.
@@God-ck5yo Nice!!!
Don’t forget that this performance, augmented with backup choir, horns, etc is being compared to the original 4 musicians...amazing.
You won’t be disappointed! The best tribute EVER!
Their careers/lives MUST HAVE BEEN flashing in his mind. So many things going on his mind makes me tear up.
A little disappointed Ann’s mic was so low. She is without a doubt the greatest female rock singer in the history of Rock n Roll.
I wouldn't even call her the best FEMALE rock singer of rock n roll. I would call her one of the BEST rock singers of all time.
Agreed, ditch the chorus, let Ann shine.
Her voice and the rest of the sound in the video they are sharing is muffled as compared to the original video. Check that out here: ua-cam.com/video/LFxOaDeJmXk/v-deo.html
You can hear her much louder on the original video from Kennedy and other reactions. This video was just low.
It was perfectly balanced in the original.
There is a full version of this on UA-cam. Ann Wilson, the lead singer, was in her 60s when she belted out this classic!
I could watch this a million times, Ann is a goddess with that voice of hers. Watching Zep's reaction to this is amazing, I get goosebumps every time!
Perfection.
Now go down the “Heart”rabbit home. Ann and Nancy Wilson. Barracuda or Crazy on you just to name a couple.
Heart was originally a Led Zeppelin cover band so it’s amazing to see it come full circle like this
Time to listen to some Heart! Try “Barracuda” and “Magic Man”. It fits your song profiles and give you a reaction to a female lead (from this video). And they rock nasty.
Don't forget one of Ann's best vocals, "Alone".
"Crazy on You" by Heart is incredible!
All true, but without the right singer... total disaster. Luckily, they got THE singer for this performance! None better.
You finally get it. The greatest rock song EVER!! Led Zepplin is the greatest most innovative rock band. Wilson sisters did a deserving great tribute to the song and the band
greatest cover of a rock song ever!
What really made my brain explode was seeing the great cellist Yo-Yo Ma rocking out in the audience! Your honest reactions and love made me subscribe. You'll love Heart, the singer and her sister the guitarist's band.
Greatest song of all
Ann Wilson is the only one that can do justice to Led Zeppelin ❤️❤️❤️Best tribute to them ever!!
The Wilson sisters are a national treasure. Heart has done a few covers of Zep tunes over the years and they do them all well.
When you receive a standing ovation from the Men themselves, you know they did justice.. ❤️💯👍
Nobody can do Zep like the Wilson sisters. I'm 64, saw Zep once in '77 when Bonham was still there. You go Annie & Nancy.
Gives me a sore throat trying not to let tears come to me. ❤
It's the most beautiful song. They did it PERFECTLY.... There are no words....😮
Heart also does a Great cover of "Battle of Evermore"....!
They started out as a Zeppelin cover band.
When Robert looks at Jon Paul and smiles to acknowledge and almost give his blessing on this song is awesome! Jimmy was bopping from the start 🎶🖤
The absolute best rendition I've ever heard!
Bless you boys. I AWAYS cry at this performance.
Omg! “Imagine how big your balls should be.” Lol!!!!! I laughed until I cried!
I also think that no one should cover led zeppelin, except Heart ❤️
❤ HEART
"Magic Man" 1976
"Barracuda" 1977
"Crazy On You" 1975
Nancy was around 21 years old when she recorded these. AMAZING!! 🔥
Don't feel bad! I felt the same way and I was also humbled! Best cover of any song I've ever heard!
rocks greatest song of all time from the greatest band of all time. sung by the greatest female rock singer ever. Your reaction was what so many feel. a life experience.
Imagine being there for that? 🙂
This was one of the last songs played on Friday and Saturday nights when I was a teenager. A whole generation revered the songs of the 70s.
No one else but Heart could have delivered this performance in honour of Led Zeppelin. Ann and Nancy Wilson are great in their own right. Check 🎸 Magic Man, Crazy On You and Barracuda. Enjoying your reactions 👏
Imagine playing that guitar sole in front of Jimmy Page..! Shane Fontayne, Shayne Fontayne, SHANE FONTAYNE!!! OMG
If that performance doesn't give you chills and move you emotionally then you are dead
Perfect reaction! You all felt it in your soul. I've watched this about 75 times. I still cry!
A great tribute!
I have watched this video dozens of times. Especially when I need a pickup. It is powerful, it is inspirational, it is emotional. I tear up EVERYTIME I listen to it. Love your reaction. Genuine, pure and pretty much the same as the first time I watch this amazing cover of an icon song.
Jason playing, and the guys from Led Zeppelin looking so proud is the highest light for me. The whole production was brilliant.
Enjoy Guys.
Gimme Shelter/Stones, 25 or 6 to 4/Chicago
Two of the G.O.A.T.'s!! Both on the stage and in the Balcony
Never say never!! 😉😉😉
