@@patlydeval2453 Yes! For me, it’s beautiful because it speaks of how we deal with very real human qualities (eg. loss, grief, depression) and it does so through this fantastical lens; i.e. where do we, or how can we deal with these emotions? How do we cope when bad things happen to us? What will we do? Who do we let ourselves become? How do we become our best self despite everything we encounter in life? I think that’s what I loved so much about it, Depp and Brando played out that side of humanity so beautifully. ❤️ (The bonus was the way Brando’s character (in this scene) empathetically plays along with the ‘delusion’ by becoming “Don Octavio de Flores” - with an accent no less! Love it. Bravo!

You can see the adoration in Johnny's eyes when he looks at Marlin all throughout the movie. I also loved how he said in the hearing that he wanted to rush back to the penthouse to get the gift/gifts that Marline gave him before AH damaged them or git rid of them. That just shows the amount of love and respect that he has for Marlin

      AH is like a curse!!
When all of JD and AH thing came out some years ago.. It looked like they were abusive to each other... and it was just pure cheating on her part to go complaining about him on public.. but then it was justified because women need to be heard above men. But then the way the trial unfolded... i have become sure that evil and crazy has no gender and AH is a curse on JD.

Michael Kamen's genius, every note. I did not love Johnny then as I do now, so perhaps time for another viewing of this obscure little gem.

@Theozen Flojo It's Don Juan DeMarco, made in 94. JD's character is delusional, believes he's the world's greatest lover, and Brando is the psychiatrist who tries to make him better but catches the love bug himself. Something like that. Great little movie. Check out Bryan Adams' Have You Ever Really Loved A Woman.
