  • This HQ Holden Ute will be returned to a restored condition, in this the first video we will be covering body repairs and primer work on the body of the car.
    Black is the hardest colour to make look good for a few reasons but the main reason is that the panel must be completely straight or any ripple will show up, this Holden HQ ute had been painted 2 times in the last year but still not up to the high standard expected by the owner so follow this procedure and you should be able to achieve the same results seen in this detailed tutorial video on how to repair & prime a car.
    Learn how to Spray Paint & Panel Beat like a Pro by following this step by step guide to Automotive Refinishing.

    Hey gunman iv been watching your uploads for a while now and like everyone else I think you are an incredible teacher
    I live in Guernsey a small island between the UK and France with not much scope to learn so UA-cam has been my saviour from learning to airbrush to watching your videos and learning to paint giving me a chance to start and finish my work off.
    So I thank you sir for everything you give all us hobby peeps. You now have another regular watcher and a thumbs-upper I'll be asking my questions soon enough

    Hey bud. Just a hot tip with bog to stop that gummy bit with bog just give it a wipe over with prepsol or wax and grease remover and blow it dry with ya air gun. Works mint and makes your sand paper last twice as long ! I've been doing this trick for years !

    Brilliant! can't wait to see the progression of this. I thought of a job I was offered the other week where someone asked me to do a full restoration paint job.... It didn't take to much thinking to say ... NO... this job helps reenforce that decisions. you pay a professional you get a professional job... I can hack away at stuff but a job like this deserves the BEST! Awesome work mate, I don't always comment but I learn tons from your vids.

    ive got a wb wellbody ute that had really wavy rear quarters, got it pretty straight with alot of blocking but just couldn't save those scallop body lines that go over the rear wheel well, looks alright until you see one like this with the lines fully intact. Bloody amazing job you guys did and from perth too no less

      The Gunman Great work mate, I see you mention U-pol products you should try the sprayable polyester Re-face great for large flat panels but you almost need a hose to apply it, 2.0-2.5 fluid tip, i believe you can roll it on also, I do like most products in the U-pol range even Through to clear coat and with you now in business they dont hurt the pocket to much without scrimping on quality. All the best Mike

    • @TheGunmanChannel
      @TheGunmanChannel  9 років тому

      Maria Gaspar Unfortunately there's so many variables that will determine the grit I would recommend but if its just bad paint and no repairs then try starting with something like 320 and feather it then finish with 500 and you can paint over 500 but if you miss any 320 scratches then they will show through after its painted.
