Good for you Gunmann taking a little extra effort, don't change. I worked at a dealership for a couple of years and seen so many short cuts being made that my OCD caused a brain aneurism.
You know as you were doing your body work I was shaking my head thinking wow body filler on the hood and so think on the body but I have to admit you did a beautiful job finishing it off and your paint is impeccable as always. I do believe you are one of the greats when it comes to paint for sure! The only concern I have is the thickness of the body filler and on the hood I always use fiberglass because it is harder and more stable with the hood being opened and closed. Thank you for the video you are the best!
gunman, when welding on a flat pannel like that, if you hammer the weld with a dolly behind it right after the weld, it stretches out the weld so it doesnt "pull" the pannel together and cause that oil can dent effect on the pannel.
+SprayWayCustoms Spray ways you are just as good painter. Gunman should see some of your beautiful work. There is no better compliment than your peers acknowledging your professionalism! Gunman you should see sprayways work he is another one of the greats !
Hay guys need some advice I'm living in Ireland so it's cold and damp I have Volvo 940 and I want to do a full respray and I want to do it panel at a time evenings and weekends so what I would like some advice on is should I do my bondo work on the small dents and etch them and move on to the next panel or should I 2K primer surfacer I've heard mixed views with primer surfacer being porous and absorbing water hopefully help me clear up this issue thank you in advance Keep videos coming GUNMAN
When welding holes like that, you only hold the trigger for a second to a second and a half, move to the next hole and continue down the panel. Move back to the first hole that is now cooled off and fill in some more using the same method until all the holes are filled. You WILL get FAR less warping and less if any burn through. Just my 2¢
Gunman...that thumb back pressure used in the gun cleaning....just met a man in my painting class today who had to have his thumb amputated from his years of doing this. Thought you might want to know.
Man.. the trick to fill/weld up them holes and not warping the metal I learnt from a very old school ... sheet metal solder and electric soldering iron.... I called bullshit when he told me.. then he showed me..and WOW in worked...didn't warp the panel
+Jey the one I used was a cheap one from the hardware shop... $30 from memory..you can buy the solder from hardware also... I will have a look tomorrow morning on the silver / lead %
i am buying a uwata lph400lv silver cap 1.4 for clear. i will use it for clear only. i want a nice gun for base coat but dont want to buy 2 lph400. what is a lesser expensive yet good quality gun to use for base? was looking at the sharpe finex fx3000. your opinions please.
+Bob Keller SGK / FLG Well priced your see gunman use it often i have one and have used it for base and clear its now my main primer gun with a 1.8mm fluid tip and needle but for a base gun it lays it on good. - www.spraygunsdirect.co.uk/index.php/devilbiss-flg5-compliant-solvent-spraygun-best-seller.html#sthash.5icJVRz8.dpbs

Hi Gun, why is there a Toyota twin cam cover in the vid?
Surely this car doesn't run an 1800 four cylinder?

+Brendan Cornwall would this work with a cheap soldering iron from radio shack?

Tig Welding would have been a much better choice, however, the bog might have prevented the panel from warping too much!

I only use the lph400 because it was my first gun. It sprays base nicely but I personally want to get a techna prolite for clear.
That body filler looks the same as the stuff I use. Roberlo maxi fill is the brand I think..
That green primer looks like dupont veriprime.
I'd love to have a Holden but I'm in the U.S.
whats the color code of this job?
Do bad you don't live near me because I would of liked you to paint my car
HA HA HA GUNNY what did you say to your partner to get that responce? The finger?
