    Not really a f%@# up. More like a learning experience. It's only primer. It will sand up.

    You'll rectify it no probs! Same happened to me recently with my Air Gunza, noticed a drip and my trigger fingers full of paint. A combination of loose screw and 1 packing gland sideways in it's chamber!! 😮😮 Is that Poly Primer nice to block? Cheers

      What a bugger!
      It’ll be harder than a honeymooner by time I get around to blocking this round of Polyprimer (over a week sitting at the time of this comment) but it shouldn’t be too bad to rub up.

    That's not to bad. I thought you were going to say the lid came of the gun when you were spraying over the car lol. Now that would be a disaster. Doing a great job as always. 👍👌👌

    the packing gland is bigger in the 2.0 gun so if you swap the 1.8 needle in to it there will be a gap causing your leak
    i had a similar problem with a touch up gun it just needed a quarter of a turn to reseal it asit had worn
    once you sand it down the drips will smooth out happens to us all at sometime

    • @TheRestoShed

    Hi yeah, we all learn by mistakes I'm hoping when I block back this new Resto Finish Polyprimer White. it's going to be a lot easier to sand than U-Pol Reface Sprayable Polyester Filler.
    I used a 3 mil tip on U Pol Reface Sprayable Polyester Filler.
    I'll probably try my 1.9 if not I'll go with the 2.2 on Resto Finish Polyprimer. Great video

    • @TheRestoShed
      @TheRestoShed  Рік тому +1

      First couple of times I sprayed Polyprimer I used the 2.5mm tip, it was way overkill. 1.8mm-2.0mm much better in my experience.
      The only true polyester I’ve used was a PPG one and it was heaps harder to rub in comparison to the RestoFinish.

    Packer not correctly adjusted or incorrect needle the gun will flutter or leak as you found out, it normally flutters due to sucking air around the packer, when your not spraying it can leak. Bugger.

  • @Steve-vz3ud

  • @williamduffield4964
    @williamduffield4964 Рік тому

    Its only a primer high build why worry about some drips? The wors thing you can do is try to whip them off. The primer has to be sanded anyway.

    2 coats will give you 0.2mm build I've found. as you know this stuff is great to block, those drips will rub out easily. it will really show up the bodywork 😂. I did one round with 120 and went holly hell. did a 2nd round and cut with 240. Coming along great!

    • @TheRestoShed
      @TheRestoShed  Рік тому +2

      It’s an awesome product. I’m a bit annoyed I had the pressure cranked up so high for the first coat due to the issues so a lot of it was just overspray 😆
      4 coats is the recommended per application and having done that prior, you can sand that with 80 grit and still takes a while before you cut through!
      Second round of Polyprimer will be much better 👌🏼

    hi mate why so much hi build poly then 3 more coats them wet on wet base clear way to much build for me. i hate to think what the microns thickness will be. best to spent a little more time on the body work first. less primer poly etc less chance of cracking that's just my opinion just some one who been in the trade for 40 years. good luck hope it all works out well keep up the hard work.👍👍

    • @TheRestoShed
      @TheRestoShed  Рік тому +3

      Just using the products the way they’re designed to be used. A lot of what I put on this round will be blocked off as I pick up anything that I’ve missed in the bodywork.

    • @stevegus2845
      @stevegus2845 Рік тому

      @@mansourjreige677 Yes, you can colour directly over this product. this is high build. no need for another high build.

    • @TheRestoShed
      @TheRestoShed  Рік тому +2

      @@stevegus2845 that’s correct, but speaking with Lincoln from Melomotive he suggests 2k priming over the top as it’s easier to sand with the finer grits or applying 2K direct gloss in something close to your base colour over 320-500 sanded RestoFinish Polyprimer, letting that cure and essentially using that as your primer to wet rub before applying your base coat & clear coat.

  • @richardholland7070

    Thanks cobber, the gland packing can cause all sorts of problems. A tiny bit of spray gun lube on the needle shaft and correctly tightened nut should sort it.👌

      There’s a lot of factors in to what can make a product fail, not all are caused by user error I will admit, but that’s not something I’ve experienced with it, but I don’t stray from the recommended guidelines.

      It’s definitely strange if it’s all happened on the same area as each other.
