I have black Bora it looks like an angela..got myself halos headlights whole interior wraped in biege and black leather combo with black headliner roof..pulled out steering wheel and put one from golf mk6 with comands and rewired it to center multimedia..i polished and protected it and replaced whole suspension wit Bilstein original parts..It didnt needed any of it to function properly..i did it cuz i wished to..car now runs like a brand new..point is u dont maintain your car man and you dont know how to fix simple gear knob let alone something bigger.you cant name gear knob as car issue or weak batteries in your key to unlock it..i havent touched anything on car for 8 months and every time i wash it oeople stop and look at it when pasding buy..some even ask how u did this and that so it isnt boxy or ugly for certain..VW for life
Bought a Bora last year 97,000 miles on clock, pretty immaculate nice highline model, cost me 3k and in 1 year I've had to spend 2.5k on repairs. Most recently a new steering rack amoungst other things costing 770. I seem to be extremely unlucky with cars, I do love it though need to get it mapped

and about the remote locking system not working unless youre really close to the car, thats maybe either the key´s battery or it can also be one of the buttons not making a good contact on the switch its supposed to activate, if its the second issue, i would consider buying a new key
Looks like you were struggling to find things to hate. Yeah it is a body shape but once lowered on a good set of wheels they look good. My key is the same thought it was the battery changed that it didn’t work. Mine had major rust in the arches when I bought it. Rust is a vag thing to do with foam in the arches with for sound deadening. I replaced mine found rest free ones
i agree, the rust issue in the fenders is something you might want to look out for... By the way, ive just stumbled upon a 2001 bora sedan with the pd130 engine and i thought: Man, that thing with bilstein shocks, the r32 golf wheels and tyres, a performance intake, full exhaust with larger diameter tubes and better flowing catalitic converter and muffler and a tune , bigger intercooler, radiator... beefier clutch... would be cool
about the doors not opening, my mom´s SEAT Altea XL TDI had the same issue,we ended up replacing the driver´s and the left side passenger´s door locks and, problem solved!
Gear knob is held on with a clip that has to be ruined/broken to remove so probably wasn't put back after last removal. Pull leather gaiter out of the base with a good yank, lift it up and inside out over the knob and you'll see if there's anything there to pinch the knob base in place. If not, put a new clip or cable tie on to hold the knob on tight and straight (replace leather gaiter with new one beforehand if that's your plan). To own an old VW means lots of little jobs like you've found cropping up...the worst being dodgy locks/doors. The pd tdi engine will last a lot longer than the rest of the car! 😂
I have a bora tdi st 6 speed 130 on a 53 plate . I have remapped mine to 174 at fly and 315 tourqes by revo i would like to meet yours and help with your bora .Your door mechanism needs lined back up . I had same problem. Doors not opening .And with rear lights . Had them rewired . As the wires are old . Cheap fix . Your gear shifter has clips and yes it has snapped. Try using a jubilee clip . I have had same problem. Do you do videos on other people's cars . Like mine Bro be great to have on your channel as you see what mine is like . I have spares available if you need .
you dont wanna change sparks. I removed the intake manifold xD the strange "trashcan" in front of the motor and so on... but know ive got new sparks and know the compression^^ 14 14 13 15 ive read 7,5-13bar is normal, im above that^^ after 20years and 146k km (91k miles i guess)
Mate a Bora (Jetta) is perfect as it is, us Jetta people have them because we like them the way they are. They are not for everyone so stop moaning about how it looks.
Yeah i love boras i think its a shame they dont make cars that look like this anymore the closest thing to a bora now in my opinion is a mk1 and mk2 skoda Octavia
Mines 170 at fly wheel and 315 tourqes. My grandad couldn't drive mine . Sounds like you have no taste . Let me guess you got a golf . A bora is for some one that thinks is better drive . They have 50 50 weight distribution. A golf don't. The bora tdi st pd has the audi lump and gear box . You know nothing about vw. It was a love child between vw and audi . And only 500 left in UK .
