Well. Considering most diesel golfs that have basic mods can smoke like this or considered to have an issue you wouldnt expect it to have 350bhp when theyd never make that out of the factory so yeah I'd say a sleeper.
I know plenty of people with 120-140bhp MK5 Jettas, Golfs, Leons & 306 TDIs that smoke like fuck due to a reek map. Smoke doesn't mean it's got power.. It's easily achieved by any bell end who wants to dump unburnt diesel into their exhaust regardless of power level.

Bullet Proof my arse. - I spent a fortune getting my PD130 fixed. it had Cams, lifters, Injectors and Turbo. and that didn't even get me much farther away from stock. I am really beginning to hate my PD130. all the hype is over rated.

It's easy to exaggerate figures when you're building cars. I thought I was at least £12k into my MK2 Golf Resto-Mod with a fully built 1.8t hybrid turbo. Because I went piece by piece each time I bought something I felt like it was costing so much when in reality it was less than £100 per week. Reminding myself of all the times buying parts breaking my heart led me to believe I was well over the 10k mark.. But when I took the time and tallied up every expense and reciept that I had written down on my notepad, I was surprised to find that I barely spent 6k on the entire thing.

Not necessarily.. I'm a mechanic, it's rare that head lift or a popped head gasket causes oil and water to meet. It usually goes around the cylinder which has water galleries close by! Oil galleries are miles away
Lee Cottiss the only darkside part on the car is the intercooler.. it was mapped at narco by adam and adam showed us all the dyno printout It made 309bhp to the flywheel so it’s roughly 260-270bhp to the wheels

Luke Thompson way way more fun cars. Bmw diesels however arent as easy as the 1.9 tdi to modify, in the sense that they are more electrically controlled. My 335D is at 400 break and that is the max anyone in Norway can get out of it
Fun fact- the reason diesels run so Much boost, and such a high static compression ratio, is because Diesel engines actually work by using extreme pressure to combust its fuel.
I had a mk4 1.9 tdi R32 replica that was Darkside loaded. I was in it around 8k. including all the body kit, seats, brake setup, wheels, tyres, miltek full system with tony banks altering it for r32 back bumper, quick rack setup from the cupra R with cast arms, which is same setup as 32, s3.. upgraded roll bars back to front.. polly bushing, i went through the whole the car. 2260 turbo with manifold, Injectors, Fast cam, FMIC. I didn't have the diff, it was on the list. but my car only made 270bhp on their rollers. span like twat 1, 2, 3rd and nearly gassed me to death. Car lasted week and half and the timing slipped car went in the bin. Put it down to them not nipping something up right well the timing kit was off. Truth be told could have fixed it a new head which ain't that expensive for a PD, but i broke the car in to pieces and recovered a lot of the expense. Just could't be bothered with all the smoke and spinning. I had a lot of fun building the car doing most the work in my garage. The only down side to it is no matter how hard you try that mk4 chassis just isn't great.
