Great review! Currently driving a Bora 2.0 Comfortline from 2004. When it was introduced I thought it was boring.. Now I love it! It still shines at 20 years old. 😁
Sold here as the Jetta L/GL/GLS in both Gas and Diesel. They're still around in decent numbers. Lots of them in the Yards @Work. Not much sells off of 'em though....
I saw a Bora with a V5 20v on Marketplace for £1500 a few months ago, went in less than a day. Seems like an interesting engine for such a 'boring' car.
Hmm. My folks ran a 2.0 Mazda 626 and drove it all over Spain for 3 months in the 90s. Then they replaced it with a Bora. Said it was the worst car buying mistake, ever. Not so much unreliable, but dull as dishwater.

Well hello there!
Looks a good car, I like it. The shape & exterior reminds me rather of the Focus saloon of similar era.
Well.... hello there!
It is a cracking little car!
Great video mate, new to the channel. Do videos like this. High-quality videos r great.
Welcome aboard!
13:13 One of the all time great engines. Make me want a mk1 Fabia VRS again.
I remember when these first came out and being wowed by the torque and power!
@@beardsandbangers It's weird isn't it? It's the same reason I like the ZS on the twisties.
I get a comforting 12 mpg in my vr6 bora through Oxford. The PD is certainly the kindest engine to go for haha
Not bora ing at all . Just another example of excellent German engineering..nice review Rob
Absolutely! Thank you.
The PD150 was pretty pokey. Not to be sniffed at back in the day

I find it interesting you guys kept the Jetta name!
Gearboxes were bad on the 1.6SRI-models. Had one, changing gears wasn't that nice. But overall, lovely cars.
That 'fuel pump' is in fact the fuel filter.
Excellent engine.
Great info thank you.
Not boring with 1.9 tdi! just best vw
not a high pressure fuel pump.... just a filter

That sounds like a bargain. I don't actually think it's a boring car. Just stimulating some discussion!

Oh good! An insomnia cure!
Or is it????
It's terribly claustrophobic inside, especially if you get used to the newer cars that are more spacious, if only visually.
I actually find it quite spacious, unlike an R50 Mini.
@arunparkin2552 I just got used to my Laguna 3, that thing is a bus compared to a Bora, but it got wrecked and I had to downgrade for a bit.
