They have been talking about the next gen update for two years, and you don't think when the tv show comes out would not be the perfect time to drop a next gen update, yknow when everyone is talking about it? I feel terrible for FOL developers that they had to delay so long, but saying it was a plan to screw over the developers is the most asinine thing i've ever heard. They are obviously going to drop a major update for their game when the most eyes are on that series, and they have openly supported modders with every release they've made in the past.
It was absolutely malicious. Firstly, Bethesda has a history of letting mod authors know when a mod breaking update is coming out, hell they even let Skyrim’s SKSE team know that The Special Edition was releasing, giving them time to get SKSE ready for the launch. So Bethesda dropping this out of the blue without a word to the team was bizarre, especially when it was right before their release. And secondly, Fallout London was originally meant to release a year even earlier. This got delayed to April (iirc) due to some internal stuff, but here’s the thing: Bethesda’s next gen update was originally supposed to launch that year as well, right around the time of London’s original release. Then, when London got delayed, suddenly the next-gen update was nowhere to be seen. And hey, what do you know, a year later when London announces a release date and is about to launch, that’s when Bethesda decides to drop their patch that breaks the entire thing. What a fun coincidence! Oh, and thirdly, apparently Bethesda is planning on dropping their Oblivion remake/remaster right before Skyblivion drops. Maybe that’s just another silly little coincidence, I’m sure these are all just wackily timed! It’s not like Bethesda historically hates being upstaged, and refuses to let any other devs touch their ip’s after getting one upped by NV.

Not to burst your bubble but a script extender is completely different and a lot more important than a general mod. Bethesda is not going to care a lot a out the latter because a whole modding ecosystem doesn't rely on it.

I know there is games like Metro, Stalker and even Dying light 2 now in European style. But imagine having Fallout Moscow, Fallout London, Fallout Rome.
But they have planned for it, they presented a whole process to get it working and a downgrader, all designed to make the process as painless as possible. It's just they couldn't account for how the update would fuck with the code until it was out, thus the work around. Until they account for all the new problems the update introduced, which will probably take a while since they are a mod team, and not a company with dedicated staff.

War, War never works... It just changes.
Bethesda in charge of their PR 😮
I am concinced that bethesda did it purposefully this way to fuck over the team for fallout london.
They could have worked with the team before hand, having a them sign nda. But from what i hear bethesda did not even try.
They could have released the anniversary fallout 4 and then lefr the original version alone
No it was by microsoft
Funny the update only works for xbox
I 100% believe this was done on purpose.
They keep doing this. What a dogshit company
Bethesda: we also pointlessly added the enclave with generic enemy a.i and no actual interaction
Wasn’t a complete waste of an update. It got me another platinum trophy.
I wish they actually released a new game in European style) i still don’t get why developers keeps creating games in American cities and with American style.
I know there is games like Metro, Stalker and even Dying light 2 now in European style. But imagine having Fallout Moscow, Fallout London, Fallout Rome.
As long as I am concerned If Todd Hower Has control of the fallout series It will keep on Making data fallout games.
The new update literally broke my game I can’t even get into the vault to save nick
Upside is that the GoG version of Fallout 4 GOTY edition never got the next gen update so... Super easy to get Fallout London working that way :)
My fallout London just crashes on me every 10 minutes 😊
apparently you need the 'buffout' mod to stop that
To be honest, the fallout 4 update was going to happen with or without Fallout London. The fact that the mod team didn’t plan for this was surprising.
Im pretty sure Bethesda came up with the brilliant idea of a useless update long after they start working on that mod
what do you mean? Fallout 4 hadn't been significantly patched in any way other than creation club for YEARS. Why would they be expecting an update the DAY before fallout London was due to release?
I have to ask: does the earthy texture of Todd Howard's shit make licking his ass a better or worse experience for your enjoyment of a franchise two games too much?
Especially since the company also put out a full game that costs 100 gigs of space for 2 MB of content.
I'm sure it's enrapturing knowing this gets you somewhere, which is deeper between developer cheeks so they don't waste time going to the porcelain.
@@themudpit621IT was announced in the 25th Anniversary of Fallout... and quite obviously Bethesda would do SOMETHING for the Hype of the Fallout Series.
tbh, it kinda feels like they've started weaponizing updates against modders. So many meaningless or very small updates out of nowhere along with some release of their modding client or whatever it was. Nothing actually feels liek it's changing and many of the updates don't even work as stated, meaning more patches. I think this started last year with that one skyrim update
This is why i keep my steamdeck offline and download my mods on my pc and transfer them over on a flashdrive. Lets me pick and choose when and if to update.
Skyrim players after Anniversary edition: First time?
But fyi, just use the downgrader patch for both games. It saves so much headache for both modding and playing in general
As someone who still happily owns an xbox one....I understand.
I accepted long ago that Fallout 4 would never work properly for me again on an xbox- so what, they just made it look nicer for me when it crashes every five minutes?? Fucking WEAK.
London is a buggy mess atm
Trying to get it to work is a fucking nightmare for steam users unfortunately
The hardest part was rolling back Fallout 4 to the version prior to Bethesda's update. It wasn't that hard to do and there are some good videos explaining how to do it. Admittedly it isn't a one button click and requires following some directions, including downloading and installing files from Steam.
@@blackprince7510 I had it working but the update broke it and noone on the discord would help me beyond the equivalent to "have you tried turning it off and on again"
@@anotherperson2627 The NG update or the Fallout London patch that came out about a week ago?
There is a guy going by "Gopher" who has a UA-cam channel with some good videos for installing the FO London mod and for installing the first update to that mod. Clear, concise instructions for both GOG and Steam versions. That is what I used.
Y'all really getting the Beat Saber update experience.
Bethesda is more likely to fix the lighting or texture in Fallout 4 than its story.💀
I legit can’t play fallout 4 cause of the constant crashing especially when settlement building ugh an hr of work gone
I actually care about the update because it means I can finally play the fucking game on an ultrawide without needing a mod.
"Ready for release!" It only functions on a lot of systems with two anti crash mods and quests are constantly breaking from my experience.
and they delayed it for the next gen update... and didn't even release for the next gen update... it honestly seems like they weren't actually done and just had a convenient scapegoat for this, especially with how buggy the release has been
@@CherryBotV2 yup
@@CherryBotV2 You guys know you´re talking about a mod for a Bethesda game, right ? Can´t really make your mod stable, if teh base game is already unstable.
No one can convince me that Bethesda didn’t deliberately update Fallout 4 just to break the Fallout London mod, and no other reason. I don’t care what reason they gave. These are “updates” they could have done well over a decade ago and didn’t because there was nothing competing with them and now they is! Fallout London FOREVER ❤❤❤❤❤
Oh hunny. That was ruined before it was even made
You can't leave or trust besthesda with anything their development teams make
It's July 29th 2024 and that damn "next gen update" still broke my game beyond repair straight up unplayable and I play on Xbox
Meanwhile 7 Days to Die goes 1.0
Most mods from alpha 21 work OUT OF THE BOX!
This got fixed super quick with mods
All I got on my update was sound issues, t pose robots and broken scripting.
I actually had a pretty easy time getting it to work tho I think buying Fallout 4 on GOG saves a lot of time just think of it as paying for Fallout London
You've played the updated version of Fallout 4 if you did anything in America Rising 1 or 2... A year before it's release
That's in 2 minutes and I'm in a FIELD.
A friend of mine did some VA work on Fallout London!
Time to start replacing the old Wolfenstein "London" meme with footage of this mod.
This is UA-cam shorts. I have no clue what to do. I am lost. Forgotten.
Fallout london just shouldn't have released right now. Everything that i would have rather experienced about fallout london got spoiled for me because i have had to troubleshoot this for days i literally have no reason to play this now other than the fact i spent the time getting it to work
Can't wait for Bethesda to submit a lawsuit for IP theft xd
Bethesda: You're not allowed to make anything better than I can!
GOG: Hey, uh, you guys can just use OUR legacy version, because . . . our site isn't really accessible OR functional on the Xbox. So upgrading for that seemed kinda . . . retarded, to us.
Bethesda: GOD DAMMIT!!!
YOU TAKE THAT BACK ABOUT XBOX WE ARE THE BACK BONE OF CASUAL GAMING!
im happy they kept the OG graphics, nostalgic. plus their not that bad
There's a torrent that repacks it perfectly. Steal it, kids!
bethesda saved us from a potentially even less functional release of london
Its possible they didnt even know it existed lmao. Never knew a game like Space Marines existed untila couple weeks ago for example (why tf is it so big and why are people horny for alien elves)
They F***d it up because I can't play the mod on steam due to the update.
