I subscribed for the beer, pub crawl and shed building, but I’m staying for the wild camping and because Pat seems like a top lad. Enjoying all these vids.
Hi Adrian, this was a very memorable camp, for the beer, and midges....great to have you along on my wild camps, we'll be visiting my shed pub in the next video, see you there to share a few beers.... thanks Pat
Well pat! As with all your videos it's always a school day. Today I've learnt where the source of the sheaf is. ( more important to a Sheffield lad than the source of the nile) How far you have to be from a water source to take a waz Then we got to the pizza after a few strong beers bit. I now also know how to make ham pepparoni and ant pizza while half cut. If only school had been as informative. Keep up the good work pat brilliant as always.
Great to see you back out camping. You are a proper entertainer and never fail to make me laugh. Love listening to your knowledge of the history of places too. Keep on inspiring. Cheers 🍻 Pat 🍻
That would have driven me mad! Great to see you out again Pat - the drone shots definitely add to the understanding of the location by the viewer. Proper job!
One of the best UA-cam channels out there for me. Pat comes across as such a genuine and amusing chap. You get history, comedy, beer and food along the way too.
That porta-oven blew me away. Such a great job done in making it. Thanks for letting us join you on your adventures. It's something I look forward to and it generally makes my day better, very enjoyable. Also, watching the intro it struck me; that you look good and healthy. Thanks again and have the best possible time ❤️
My son introduced me to your pub shed videos and now I can't stop watching your wild camping and underground exploration. Keep up the good work. Cheers, Frank.
I do like your commitment; carrying those heavy beers and oven, putting up with those midges and all on a hot day! More beers earned I’d say. Well done Pat!
Yes after all that effort, I agree I deserved all those beers, nice and cool from the stream, certainly didn't agree with the midges and ants though...... thanks Pat
Saw your canopy camping video.. Now I'm looking for arborist gear. Just what I needed. Another hobby, amazing life experience, and opportunity to do something that will send me back to God early... Outstanding, interesting, informative, innovative and optimistic... Love the camp oven!!!
Thanks Warren, tree camping, just out of this world experience, just climbing a tree with all the right gear is a fantastic way to spend a few hours, all the best Pat
Now that's a proper "bar" for when camping. Half a dozen bottles of beer in a cool running stream 4 feet from where you are sitting. Been there and done it, great beer lover minds think alike. Lol
Yes, nothing better in summer than a few beers coming in a stream,a nice pitch, and all the time in the world to just relax and enjoy it...... thanks Pat
Pat after watching you over the years I must say I always enjoy watching your expeditions, they are so interesting and informative and I always look forward to watching them.
The only thing I hated about wild camping in Scotland was the flying teeth. It was a bloody nightmare. No matter where I camped there was absolutely no escape from them.. I was at the Top of Glenco and still got bit to death. Scotch midges are evil little buggers .
I agree totally with that. Our wild camp a fortnight ago in Glentrool, Galloway had its fair share. A reccie walk during last week had our lunch blighted by the little...blighters!
Great video! A lovely relaxing video and excellent example of stealth/wild camping. Plus truly novel cooking in your oven - pizza and pain au chocolat. I thought the constant tinkle tinkle of water was the beer going through! So I was pleased when you told us it was the brook/stream! As one Patrick to another, keep up the high standard, Patrick.
A fabulous vídeo Pat. I throughly enjoyed it. Great to see out again! That stone table looked like it was made for you! Some great beer choices in your bar area too. Out of interest, what size rucksack did you use for this trip? Thanks again and all the best - Ben 👍
you are amazing. you make me laugh and emotionly cry. I cant put in to words howi feel about this video except to say I laughed a lot and downed two double whiskies.. I really do realise how much time you put in to your presentation.. I'm 83 years and have done similer.. drones were unheard of so I find it difficult to understand how you film yourself while walking.. Magic Patrick.. you are a master in this field and I thank you very much for entertaing me.
Glad you enjoyed it, even more that it brought a smile to your face, what it is all about at the moment. I can forget all my worries and responsibilities on these camps, helped along with a few beers, all the best Pat
I wasn't sure I recognised this new, slick, media-savvy Patrick. New clobber, fancy drone filming him in epic an landscape, ultra-healthy looking.....he'd even got new glasses! Was pleased to then see the getting pissed, slightly angry, words muddling, pub shed guy was still with us in spirit as the video progressed.
@Peter Fairhurst You're totally right Peter, after viewing the full video it's clear that Pat's fame hasn't gone to his head and his content is still a brilliant watch. I only wish I had his strength. He seems so motivated, self-assured and full of determination to camp, explore, cook, make videos, all sorts of things really. All I seem to do is sit in my bedsit watching, he's an amazing guiy!
Hi Tom, I,be now intention of changing anything, loved my childhood years and find myself returning to that simple way of living, all right we did,nt have drones then, all the best Pat
@@patrickdickinson6492 Thanks for taking time out to answer Patrick.....spreading your channel around the all the London CAMRA people I know. We all love what you're doing.
So good to see you again Pat. It does not matter what you do, you are great company. Glad you refined the door on your oven. It has been buzzing around the back of my mind, like a gross of midges, since you first introduced the device and did not have your gloves with you. At last: resolved. If it is any comfort to you, we have plenty of midge-like insects even in the dry desert mountains of west Texas. They can be very distracting even though they do not bite. Their quest is for water so they go for the eyes, herding like cattle on ones eyelids, flying up the nose, in the mouth and in ones ears (very loud). I wear the same head protection as you demonstrated but tucked into the collar of my shirt. The wind is the cure for them. Excellent production, as always. Take care.
Yes a simple job on the oven, made a lot of difference. Your insects sound awful, especially around the eyes, luckly we don,t have anything really nasty here in the UK, all the best Pat

@@patrickdickinson6492 Cheers, Pat. I don't usually drink much mid-week, but had to go grab a bottle from the fridge to join in on this vid. And I have to say that those fresh pastries that you baked looked bloody amazing! Shame about the flying ants/midges. They're a nightmare. I was considering a camp this weekend, but I'm not much of a lover of summer camps.

Hi, great video I love to watch these wild camping videos always interesting to see the sites you choose and the little bits of local information you give . Looking forward to you next videos
Hi Rosie, luckly I did not really get bit, the repellent kept them at bay, just did not feel nice on my skin. Heading to higher ground next, hopefully the breeze will blow them away, still a enjoyable camp, thanks Pat

Brilliant, Pat. As always. The clink of your bottles did get a lol from me too. The midges and ants provide extra protein and can substitute for fresh ground black pepper if you have forgotten your specs! Hobgoblin is often the beer of choice for me too along with almost any Innis&Gunn and Lidl's Purple Panther. You could get a little business going getting that oven made locally and flogged for £50. WE did our first solo boys wild camp in Galloway forest a couple of weeks ago and of course midges galore too! Smoke helped also. Great camp, much appreciated. Thanks again. ATB, Terry
