Thanks for the actual indoor footage. Looking forward to my first one and first contest altogether, so I'm very excited, but at the same time scared! ;)
Great review. I think the run after the burpees sucks for everyone. Anyone that says otherwise didn't go hard enough in the BBJ's! Nice to see I made it into your video too, albeit just in the starting pen.
1:22 on your first Hyrox is great. Congrats. I almost literaly died my first one. I was so out of breath and comprimised the whole race. Tomorrow i go for my 2nd one.
Great video thank you. I have my first Hyrox in London on 1 May. I am 65 years old and weigh 73kg. Comfortable with the running and most of the work outs. The 1 which keeps me awake at night is the sled push. Keep hearing about how the carpet is a problem. What weight were you pushing in the gym? The carpet in my gym tends to crease up so even pushing 125kg is difficult although manageable. Is it the creasing of the carpet in Hyrox the problem?
Cheers for watching David. I was regularly pushing 150kg plus sled and found it easier than on the day. At my gym, the astro turf is so easy to move on. If the carpet you use creases, then you might be in for an easier time. Don't go hell for leather, it's not worth it to finish 30 seconds faster. All the best at London 👍🏻
Thanks for making the video. What did you do in between the sets of 10 wall balls? Rest? For how long or is that just to catch breath? Doing my first HYROX in November.
I just did my first Hyrox last weekend and did sets of 20 wall balls with 5-10sec rest in between. Will need to improve on my running times but I finished in 1h18min
I was about 10-15 seconds between wall ball sets. I was completely spent by that time, though. The lunges killed me. My advice would be to make sure your legs are strong and that lunges and squats aren't as tough. Appreciate you watching the video. All the best in November!
I pretty much wasn't running at all at the time. I don't really know what my 5k time was at that point. Probably 22 minutes. I was a 17 min 5k runner a few years back
Great effort and great video. Thank you. Good luck with the next one
Thanks, Russell 👍🏻 thanks for watching

Brilliant Glasgow for me next year first one putting the graft in
Excellent mate, I hope you enjoy it. I'll be filming at it again in March. You'll maybe make an appearance haha
Great video mate. I'm signing up for Glasgow nexy year when it gets announced. First ever Hyrox. training for it already. Seems really hard.
Cheers mate. I can't recommend it highly enough. You'll love it
Do you know if there will be an event in Glasgow in 2025
@@johnsamuels1339 from what I've seen, Glasgow is going to be 1 of the majors next season. Most likely in March

Nice content bud , my first in tomorrow !!!! London! Both nervous & wxcited !
well done mate
Thanks, mate
Great video.... what sort of 5km time were you running before the hyrox? 4.34 kms in the hyrox is awesome
I pretty much wasn't running at all at the time. I don't really know what my 5k time was at that point. Probably 22 minutes. I was a 17 min 5k runner a few years back
Thanks... 17 min.... that is quick!!!@@athlete8823
You did ace.
That's appreciated. It's such a good event
Sled push
Im gonna train on grass. Is that easier or harder than hyrox surface
I would imagine grass would be ridiculously hard. If you can manage that, then the carpet will be a piece of p*ss
Whats it like fir supporters. Can they see u most of the time? Would you take kids ?
It's a bit tight and busy, but you're right on the action. It's very spectator friendly
