They should add 2x 200-400m swims in there aswell. How can they just throw the running in there when that's got nothing to do with the other exercises.
Good job! These movements all *look* easy but when you're doing them and your whole body feels on fire and your heart is beating out of your throat, it is no joke.
I want to have an event where Hyrox is done in backyard ultra style. Ie make the exercises shorter such that they can fit into one hour for all athletes and do one Hyrox session each and every hour until there is only one person left over to do the last hour and win the event.
@@tomoosterdijk haha it would be grimm indeed. No threshold needed, the threshold is the one hour limit. At some point, you will just not be able to finish.
Super cool video Tom! I remember meeting you in Cromwell with Joe when you were riding before Challenge on your super bikes, love your attitude, would have been super cool to hang out 🤣
I love the video bro, burbees and wall balls blow everyone up their first go around. I’ve done 3 Hyrox may be time to put my videos out? Training now for the pro division for Houston 2025
Haha I dont even know.. 30th in ag and 100+ overall? Something like that. Ive lost 4 min at the wallballs stand alone. You gotta nail the stations if you want to be good at this. You cant just blag it with a run. 😂✌🏼
Nice one Tom! I'm curious what you think of the training, whether you're enjoying it and how you approach it (especially in combination with the endurance stuff you also still have to do I suppose).
Very impressive! With some work on technique in the burpees and wall balls you'd good to go. Btw, the only exercice that's anaerobic per se is a straight sprint or all out effort, otherwise it's still aerobic :) and lactate's not responsible for the burn or the decrease in performance, excess proton ions are! Lactate's there to help!
well yea obviously if you build up too much lactate your body cant clear it, which makes you feel like that. Also, in essence a hyrox is aerobic,, but also anaerobic :)! Some stations force you to go into the red. With regards to a sprint what you're referring to, yes thats anaerobic/neuro musculair / ATP-PC
and believe me, the way I was doing burpees, it was anaerobic haha. But Yea I should be saving a lot of time there and with the wall balls. i.e. it should get more aerobic if you dont attack it like that with no technique :')
It wasnt trained mate, it was literally seeing what the exercise was like/how to execute it. ;) Training involves more than trying something for one time. Chill out dude!
haha fair enough! If you want to be good at this you really need to train for it for a couple of months. But we as triathletes have a massive advantage when it comes down to the engine/running experience. I can recommend it to give it a go John.. Would like to see how you are getting on haha
Well done Tom, welcome to the HYROX family!
You are a HYROXman ❤😅

@@Dan-rg7jj As Crossfit discovered, swimming in the middle of a comp is bad.
1 hr 9 minutes with no training on the stations and 8 minute wall balls is nuts. You could get to sub 65 with an 8 week camp.
Lets get to work quick and see how I can improve in 2 months
He could get sub 65 with some basic wall all technique alone, wouldn't need 8weeks

Shivering like a shitting dog😂 Never change Tom, the apple king.
Thanks for the video, I'm doing one in April, realizing now it's gonna be tough 😮
Haha you can do it amigo!

That would be a very cool and grimm event. But then there has to be a threshold time. Otherwise people would take them easy.
@@tomoosterdijk haha it would be grimm indeed. No threshold needed, the threshold is the one hour limit. At some point, you will just not be able to finish.
Damn, well done! You can def do it under 60min in Feb. good luck m8💪🏽
I love seeing professional athletes trying Hyrox. It’s so cool to see their perspective. You beat lance Armstrong time of 1:12 haha
haha its humbling isnt it
@@tomoosterdijkpro or regular weights? apples to apples 😉 Great run times, in any case 👏
You killed the runs!
Lekker man! Zelf ook triatleet en deze staat nog op mijn lijstje. Respect
legend!

Thanks mate! I remember that. Had an awesome time down in New Zealand and I would love to go back.
Amazing work tom
"I am the apple king" YES YOU ARE
haha

awesome job
Thanks!
Pro Triathlete!! Always comes out top. What place did you come...

Fair play for doing it! Must be hard
It will always be hard, you will just go faster Haha. Absolute mega experience. Can really recommend it
This is why we love the mozzarella.
wahaa
You freaking did that!!!!!!!
Nice one Tom!

Thanks mate! Literally recorded a new video about this yesterday. So that one is coming up soon. :))
very cool video, keep it up
Seems like if your 85-90 the external force/ weight ones are a lot easier than if your under 80kgs
Very impressive for a first Hyrox. I hope to get there someday. Did you say you did the Open or Pro Hyrox? Either way. Congrats.
I did the open!
You and Joe need to get into the same race together
Haha cool to see. It can be humbling. But holy smoke, your running was fast! Sub 60 is realistic for you, with a good HYROX coach you will get there.
Thanks mate. Def a lot of points to improve haha. Time to get after it.
goed gedaan Tom! legend.
Nice Tom!! When do you really want to know how your muscles are behaving during HYROX, give us a call ;)
Lekker bezig.
Congrats. Super fast time. I think Jo did pro weights didn’t he?
Thanks Thomas. The first time Joe did pro weights. But two weeks ago he did the open as well.
'' Untrained '' 😂😂
What was the winning time
I have no clue mate.. I think the fastest ones in the pro went like 58 minutes in frankfurt
@ you did a dam fine effort
💪💪
Ooh the assault runner is horrible! Ass to grass on the wall balls! Proud of you! better than Joe for sure! That was deep! Lol
I could feel those ass to the grass squats the next day.
@ yeah they will blow up your legs for sure! As well as those lunges.
Put the melted cheese back in the freezer 🦍🐶
hows that ski experience is working for you? :D :D :D
hahahah exactly!
Your running was awesome despite the form on the stations really exposed you thoroughly
waha totallly.. Time to get some hours hyrox training in a week
7:58 click bait tittle - You practiced lunges!? WTF?

If you trained your walk balls and burpees, you would be close 60 minutes
Yea there is a lot of time up for the grabs for me on that part.
11:08 then you have the audacity to claim again it was untrained again, despite already admitting in the video that you trained for it on Monday. 😉 😂

@@tomoosterdijk have been looking at Hyrox for a while. I definitely fancy giving it ago for fun.
Practice playing catch . Better still, play catch with Joe.
