Cool, I’ll polish my rails aswell! Great idea, looks as great as on my S54
Just came across your channel. Great stuff. I'm getting 156 sportswagon 2.5 v6 on Monday so any knowledge I can glean is a bonus. Oh and bye the way nothing wrong with a bald head , life is full of things that's hair today and gone tomorrow
That engine is a work of art. Top quality dedication.
Great work!
I have watched this episode again and again. Looks awesome. Thank for sharing all the details. Engine bay like a diamond.
Thank you for your ongoing support and enthusiasm. I’m glad you find the videos useful 👍🏼
Mate , as always top video . Didn’t realise you get all that looking mint. Now I know how to do my 2.5 on the 156 👍🙏🏻🤩
Great video son. That engine is a credit to you.
I like what you’ve done there, smart, attractive and not OTT.
It’s a good inspiration and source of ideas for my own busso refresh.
Keep up the good work 👍
Thanks Jason. As the rest of the equipment in the engine bay isn’t new, A sympathetic restoration was the way to go for me personally. I just want to do it justice without looking like it’s been messed about with or tarted up.
Welp, looks like I'm refurbishing my engine bay then... beautiful!
Thank you Rick fantastic very inspirational
Ein sehr sehr gutes Video 🤙🏻👌
Good
Excellent Rick!
Looking really smart.good job.
Excellent video as always Rick....I have Cup no 46
Looks great and nice to see you didn't go for red, black or even blue covers which I feel are a.bit much. Just only look at the chrome intakes when the sun's on them as the glint and shine stops you noticing the pitting - that's what I do! A couple of guys i trust say if you do re-chrome them make sure you only do the outsides as the chrome can flake off and enter the engine.
I want to gold plate my intakes.
Looks fantastic, your gonna be back on the road just in time for the good weather. My chrome trumpets have been siliconed on so I am dreading getting the off without getting debris in the wrong places. I might have to take the brackets that hold the three trumpets off with the trumpets still attached?
Hello Sir. Yes you could do that but you would also need to lift them out with the fuel rails and injectors also still attached but that isn’t a problem. Just disconnect the electrical connectors and plenum
nice job but, is not recommended to use stainless bolts in engine's hots parts....hard or impossible to remove on time ;-)
Looking great Rick, is the RTV in the workshop manual?! I didn't add any...
It’s isn’t essential. If your rocker covers aren’t weeping them just leave it. The gasket Sealant is more of a long term preventative
Hi Rick what torque did you use for the cam cover and the intake plates?
Intake plates 19/23 Nm
Cam covers 12/15 Nm
3:08 What torque do the bolts have?
