I am over 1 year in Sweden, Gothenburg. I lived many years in England and than in Hamburg. I am from East Europe so i can compare. I think they are very friendly. They are not shy, they are reserved but not shy. If you respect them they will definitely be nice with you. Once you get to know them they are lovely people. Weird but lovely😊.
Thanks at first! Its this I was listening several years ago on a man frome Estonia, he was asked about aclimatisation in sweden! It was the language, but about the living style, its the same as in Estonia, indoor family living, and festivas in the summer!
Thank You For Sharing it With us your experience. Surely Agree With it that Everyone in Sweden is so Nice in their behaviors I Love them all. Shyness is an other Characteristics as People aren't much social Here! 😅

Yes Some People Are more introverts and it doesn’t matter much that from which particular region or country they Are. So how about you? Are you also an introvert? 😅
@@Lets-Walk-Around Like my father, I am also an introvert. That is unless someone needs my help. I love helping people. No doubt it has something to do with my obtaining my degree in Psychology and choosing to be a mental health professional. Today, I live in the EU. Alas, I've not yet made it to Sweden.
I find it amusing that the majority of the Swedes interviewed in this video claims Swedes are shy- it has absolutely nothing to do about being shy but being reserved and having integrity. There is like this invisible 1-1.5 meter radius around most people and having uninvited people in that space is very discomfortable, people who break this are either foreigners or are up to no good. There is no problem what so ever to communicate with swedes as long as you are respectful and don’t approach aggressively or intrude on the personal space without good reasons.
We aren't shy, but reserved and we don't like small talk. It's the polar oposite from the statement that people in cities are more aprochable, in the countryside everybody says Hello and starts conversations, in the cities we avoid our neighbors as much as possible, we try to not look or smile at strangers. I can't say there is a great difference between Stockholm and Gothenburg, having lived in both cities. There are some Gothenburgers who hate Stockholm while the oposite is extremely rare (Little brother complex I guess). I've been called a Nazi for making word play jokes about Gothenburg, which is kind of ironic.
Nice try, we are not shy, we are only different! And I can put up some sort of explanation!? Its the f*cking climate, we kind of hibernate 9 months a year! Then in Juny, july and August, all of the social things should happen, its a busy time! If you miss this, you have to wait to next year, to compensate for your not showing up! Soo, it depend on situation, if you aproche a swede on holiday, asking them about sights, you could have problems to hook them of, they never let you go, love to practise english, love to speak about sweden!
It depends what you compare it with, if you compare them with finish and Japanese people of course they are very social if you compare them with latin americans they are shy reserved and they hate becoming personal and opening up.
@2:20 the girl explains logic which does make sense, they are not shy they are reserved like finns or any other nordic country. Took me 4 years to understand this while living in finland
So it seems that in order to bond, Swedes like having an specific time to bond instead of doing it casually and out of the blue, which i find pretty understanding... lol maybe i was swede in a past life
Being shy ? You need to Have something to say - so They listen ! Most Swedes speak Swedish - so The easiest to talk to Them på SVENSKA ! Swedes live to travel !
