Me and a friend got pretty close to beating it i think but it took so many plays that we had to give up or we would have ran out before even playing anything else there
I hate how much personality the cutscenes the latter 2 LM games have. It makes the fact that I still prefer the original that much more painful xD It's like I'm missing out on a lot, but at the same time, the actual "game" part of them doesn't entice me nearly as much.
One thing you reminded and made me think about is how polterpup is in LM 3 and is good but doesn't have his pupil things, odd thing but I wonder if they just wanted to ditch that because the ghost characters look better without the pupils.
The pupils are a result of the Dark Moon's influence. Since Polterpup's not in Evershade Valley, the moon's effect can't reach him and hence he has no pupils. He's also not naturally evil without it either. He just wants to play which is why he doesn't need it to be friendly. On that note, let's just ignore Dark Moon's ending when considering what I just said.
I love the game! Its just not as enjoyable as the other ones. Definitely the worst in the series. But its also responsible for most of Luigi's Mansion's identity! So we should all be thankfull for this game, I dont think LM3 would be as good without it
Although the first game is definitely my favorite, Dark Moon still holds a special place in my heart, and I actually quite like it as well, it’s different but enjoyable.
13:28 you can say that again! Oh and if you thing it was you haven’t seen anything yet. (Luigis mansion 3 cutscenes) I’m basically saying there full of character and charm, THERE SO GOOD! 😊
Actually you can call Mario’s name at the push of a button. After Luigi realizes that Mario has been captured he calls for Mario when pushing the D-Pad.
14:55 who else played the arcade, I actually did and yep, that 1 person view and the ghosts popping up in the screen like in the original, gave back some of the original game essence
There is one at a dave & busters near me and my friend and i went out to play it and it was really cool! we were having quite a bit of trouble later on in it and we ended up using most of our plays on continues but sadly we were running so low on plays so we stopped to play other games before we used them all on one game
By far my favorite part of that arcade game is that every time you suck in something, you feel like a ping pong ball or something hit the back of your vacuum, so it feels like you actually sucked something in
"you also can't yell for Mario anymore" Yes you can once the story makes it clear that Mario has been kidnapped and by that I mean Luigi has realize that Mario has been kidnapped the various hellos that Luigi does with the d-pad turn into various Mario Shouts.
The coolest part of Dark Moon was how Luigi lives in the Mansion he gets given if you get a D rank at the end of the first game, or maybe how this vacuum is the 5000 because the 4000 was used in Mario Kart DS
If you want to do something funny, go to Treacherous Mansion E-2, and grab the second toad you release with the Poltergust 5000 (best with the Jungle Exhibit, but it is possible with the Ice Age Exhibit) If timed correctly, when Egad calls you Toad will be stuck on the Poltergust 5000 and when Luigi goes to check down the screen will shake. Once you answer, Luigi will put away the Vacuum and Toad will end up high off the ground in a funny way. Egad saying "Hey there feller, how's it going up there" makes the caption even better.
When you see the Mario painting for the first time the callous are for Mario. There's 4 different ones including the desperate screaming one depending on which direction on the dpad you press.
I've never actually gotten the chance to play this game, since I don't own a 3DS (not by choice; I've just never been able to afford one). I gotta say, tho, that bit at the end where Mario tells Luigi he did a good job and Luigi seems so sincerely surprised, it just... it's like someone shot an arrow straight through my heart. And then punched it the rest of the way out the other side. I swear to god, man, that was supremely heartfelt; give the poor younger brother that sweet, sweet validation he so clearly needs and deserves.
Same here. From what I've seen in the original, they just seem to be, well, ghosts. The ones in Dark Moon seem to be more mischievous than mindless, and getting to peep through holes to see them do their business is always nice. I think 3 does a great job keeping the personality of the portrait ghosts from 1 while using the more expressive generic ones from DM.
Just wanted to point out when you brought up not being able to go 'Mario' at the press of a button: starting from the last mansion onwards Luigi's 'Hello' well become Mario calls even if replaying older missions. It wasn't until near the end that he even knew Mario was missing after all.
I actually went to a Dave n’ Busters in my area, and they had that Luigi’s Mansion Arcade game too! They also had a Guitar Hero Arcade game there too, don’t forget to mention that in your Guitar Hero Franchise video.

Fun fact, 99 percent of the enemy's official names are hilariously bad, for example, the versions of the ghosts that are harder with the cracked pattern on them are called: Strong Greenie or Strong Sneaker. Also, there's a golden greenie that you assume would be called a Goldie. There official name is Gold Greenie... They aren't even freaking green 😂😂😂
Ant, you can call for Mario after completing "A Train to Catch" and you are permanently stuck with calling Mario, even if you are replaying the very first mission.
I remember loving this game when I played it. The mission-based stuff didn’t really bother me as I found it fun to see how each mansion would change between missions (as if the ghosts were actually moving stuff while I was gone), helping the areas feel more real. The ice boss was pretty bad though, I agree on that one.
Honestly, this one is my favorite. I don't mind the portait ghosts being cut and the normal ghosts are cool. Comparing the normal ghosts to Luigi's Mansion 3's ghosts, 3's suck. At least the Dark Moon ghosts have varities of them, having the tougher versions. The cutscenes are incredibly good, and the shop system seems worthwhile, again unlike the 3rd one. The mission system is kind of annoying but I got past it and I loved Dark Moon to death. Also the controls are pretty good :))
I own Luigi’s mansion 3 for the switch I sadly don’t have the other 2 games I watch vids of those 2 games this was a great way to show me more to Luigi’s mansion 2/dark moon
13:17 why doesnt polterpup have pupils in Luigi's mansion 3? Hes a friendly ghost throughout that game, so what gives? Idc cause tbh he looks better without them

9:51 he doesn't even have a 3ds game in there, how do we know that you're talking about luigi's mansion if you're probably secretly playing cory in the house?
Ya know I really appreciate how they portray King Boo in these games. At first he seems fairly standard evil, but after a humiliating defeat by the more cowardly of the two mario bros, he understndably gets a LOT more pissed off. He actually comes off as fairly intimidating as he holds onto his grudge even stronger than Bowser with Mario, I mean he literally almost tore the FABRIC OF REALITY near the end of the game. I can't wait to see what LM3 has in store, so no one spoil cause I am poor and cant play it yet.
What I like about Dark Moon is the design of it. It looks cartoony, which is how the mushroom kingdom's design is like. The original, I get it. They were trying to makw a creepy game. But, it just looks like an abandoned mansion, with really dark hallways and rooms, and then there is a green, cartoony plumber with a bunch of ghosts in it.

9:23 actually they sound like the Martians from Mars Attacks.
This game holds a very special place in my heart for being my very first 3DS game.
13:17 why doesnt polterpup have pupils in Luigi's mansion 3? Hes a friendly ghost throughout that game, so what gives? Idc cause tbh he looks better without them
Actually, you can call out for Mario, but not till later in the game when u find out King boo has him(or at least when Luigi does)

*Scarescraper, Sorry to correct you
Did anyone else find the way the game showed you alll the boos you captured to be extremely satisfying? That was tithe only reason I went to find all of them.
13:25 every time I see this part I want to cry
This is (finally) a review of dark moon! No one does one, and I want to thank you for it.
9:56 that's a ds cartridge, not a 3ds cartridge.
also, why is everyone saying “There are cutscenes abound with a ton of minor voice acting.”? i only heard it once.
@Cyber Console wolf i just saw it as a funny error. but still, why is everyone saying why is everyone saying “There are cutscenes abound with a ton of minor voice acting.”?
@Cyber Console wolf but everyone is saying he said it twice. i only heard it once.
@@gregorymirabella1423 Because people want to be "funny"
Happy belated Halloween, yo! Thanks for the spooktacular video! :D

It's just preference at the end of the day. Others and I prefer the atmosphere of 1. Others may prefer Dark Moon's. It's subjective.
Didn't you just do a video on 3?
Oh wait no that was Nitro Rad.
YO someone mentioned the arcade one we had one at a local store I work at but sadly it was removed 3 weeks ago because it "wasn't making enough money" still really sad
You CAN call for Mario later in the game, once you've discovered he was kidnapped.
