He's like that old man who goes out to his favorite diner for coffee every morning
OMG This is exactly right!
yes
And he could’ve saved soo much making his coffee at home if he goes 365 days a year!!!?!! 😂 But cool.. yeah I know it’s not the “coffee.”
Yessss❣❣❣
Black coffee, toast and the newspaper and life is just dandy at that diner everyday.
That is so cool that he goes to his friends house everyday and everybody watches out for him he just has his own little schedule of his own little playdates that he plans himself
I know right?? My kind of neighborhood!! How great is this place?🙏🙏🙏❤❤🥰🥰🥰🥰🐕🐕🐕🐕🐕

"See you for lunch" - just loved that. You'd say that to a human. A sign of just how much Oliver is loved. 💛🌻🤗

Absolutely right Nouf - he has made them his pack, he is responsible to check on all of them, therefore he is the Mayor - love it 🤗🐶
He's a ghost of the town. 1840 he lived there but died. Came back as a dog.

@@truaqua I don’t see that as a negative comment. I see it as something to work for. And I’m old.
@@truaqua it’s just a fact. Less likely to happen in a less well off neighborhood, and it’s because he’s a cute old dog, and it’s chill. I had an art teacher in high school who used to live in the mountains and had a part wolf dog, Maceo, and he would wonder around town. More people knew the dog than they knew him. Just depends on where it is, but where he lived was a semi-affluent small town.
How great to be a neighbour so understanding and loving.Restores my faith in human nature.

Oliver kept touching my heart a lot
How do you know she is a great neighbour? She has multiple dogs, so having one more coming over is no big deal for her lol
Growing up, we had a neighbor who owned a small Border collie who was the smartest dog we had ever met! Tasha was trained & well behaved, and would come over to our house every weekday while her owner was at work. She would arrive at 8:30am, and always seemed to know when it was 5pm! She was such an intelligent animal! She first started coming over to see our dogs and kids when they were younger, and continued doing so for about 15 years. She was such a fixture in our house, that most people thought she was our dog! In fact, Tasha once got accidentally locked in my parents house when they took me out to the west coast for a college tour (fortunately my grandmother had a key to the house to let the dog out!) Tasha died at age 17, and is still fondly remembered by my siblings after almost 45 years. I’ve always loved Border Collie’s because of that dog! 😊
Neighbor: "what time is it?"
Oliver: "time to open the gate."
Looool
Aaahhh
Dohoho

My mom had a neighbor dog like this. They moved in and the first night my mom got up to go to the bathroom at 3am and there was a big golden lab lying on the foot of the bed. Miss Maya would come over daily. My mom’s partner was on oxygen lines so the back door wasn’t fully shut.
Sometimes mom would come home and Maya was on the sofa waiting for her. When my mom was done with a visits she would give Maya a treat and she would head home next door. My mom was older so it was like grandma time - all the joy and mom of the work. She died right before my mom did. ❤️

Who else wishes they lived in this neighborhood so they could be on Oliver's route?
ME! I would spoil him rotten.
I grew up in a town where most houses didn't have a fence. All the dogs would roam around and we all knew which house they belonged to. It was great.
J Cheri, I couldn't agree more 🐕👣🦮😍👣❤ This is such a beautiful story.
Sending you huggies Oliver ❤
I know right, Im here trying t o find out where they live so I can move there! LOL
Thats what we all actually desire. A place and life like Oliver has. Peaceful. Simple. Easy. So why does everyone still run in the rat race??
Im setting up 4x4, trailer, ultralight plane, travelling Australia. Fact. Next few months, planned n set.
I can't believe how miraclous it is that nothing bad happened to him for that long period of time. I can't believe it. I wish my dog could live in such neighborhood and just enjoy life. It's great.
My parents had a dog like that. She would go out of the house, go all the way around the block to another house which was actually on the same street as them. She never took the direct route to the end of the block though. Then she'd come back home. Sometimes the people in the other house would call my mom and ask if Shannon could come over, so my mom would let her out and off she'd go to spend time with her 'other' family. Only thing bad about it was the other family got the benefits of a nice dog, but none of the expenses.
Goes to show how good of a world we actually made for ourselves. Now we need to safe this way of life from being destroyed by reckless greed.
What a great dog. He brought neighbors together in a way that probably would never happen without him being the glue. This is what owning dogs is all about! He lived an amazing life full of humans who loved him. RIP pup.
He’s walking all gingerly like the old man he is.

We had a neighborhood turkey that would go house to house visiting everyone. His name was “One-Eyed Charlie”. He was a rescue that had been hit by a car. Our neighbor has a farm with many animals and he was originally meant to be someone’s Thanksgiving dinner. After he was hit by a car and survived, only losing an eye, they didn’t have the heart to do that so my neighbor took him in as a pet. He would come to all our picnics and visit the kids playing outside.

We had a black lab, that would “wonder “. He would be gone for hours. When he passed, the construction guys, from the next neighborhood, found out and were really sad. They used to give him treats and a lot of love.

I once had a neighbor's cat like Oliver. Used to come visit whenever he wanted, sometimes decided to stay overnight, and I'd call his mom so she wouldn't worry. He used to yell-meow loudly at our front door when he wanted to come in. And if he wasn't ready to leave yet after a visit, he wouldn't budge. You could keep the front door open all you want, but he'd just yawn, curl up in a comfy chair and say, "Nope, not leaving." He also brought us a Christmas present of a dead mouse. Dropped it on our door mat on Christmas morning. Miss you, Lambie!
My mom told me a story like that. Our neighborhood used to have a cross-eyed siamese cat and he'd wander around and invite himself into the houses. He was a huge sweetheart too. This is what we humans refer to a “village”. Wished every neighborhood could reflect this type of animal/human contact without weirdness.
I agree!🙂
Village is the best place to live a good life. I was lucky to have born in one.
So true, such a shame it's so hard to find places like this anymore
india has million villages..i see people happy there than cities
all the dogs in my great grandma's village in Italy were like this. if they were friendly, they'd wander into a friend's backyard and hang out there for a couple hours. in the daytime the dogs all nap together in the shade.
God, I watched this video a hundred times, and I never get used to seeing this. This is my relaxation therapy. RIP OLIVER ❤️ Thanks for bringing joy into alot of people's hearts.
This was so beautiful but I was incredibly sad to read that Oliver has since passed away, but he definitely had a loving and fulfilled life, what an awesome boy.
R.I.P in doggy heaven Oliver 🕊❤️
R.I.P Olly
1:05 Oliver invites himself to the Birthday Party, and says "I'm the gift that keeps on giving". Cracks me up!
Oliver's life seems like it would be a great idea for a series of children's books.
Haha that's so true. A big white fluffy dog who is a gentle soul visiting everyone on schedule. Sounds like a perfect children's book
Such a cute idea!
Absolutely! That would be wonderful
Oliver has a better social life than most humans
Oliver is so gentle and loved by both the families. He is so lucky
he is dead
