I miss my special golden so much and seeing Lucy in that state was so saddening... I hope she has a great rest of her life and Callie now has another golden friend. :)
Heartbreaking to see an animal so depressed, probably grieving the loss of her pups & whatever type of horrible treatment that was done to her. Thank you for taking care of her.
Yes it is. But when when human are depressed they say „It’s your own fault. You have to do something.“ Although they know that truly depressed people can’t get out of that alone and without their individual cause is eliminated.
When one breaks a Golden Retriever’s spirit, it’s hard for them to trust anyone after that, as well as the clear physical abuse this poor baby suffered. I’m so glad you found her and are able to give her the life she deserves! Dogs are a gift in this life 🧡 Keep up the amazing work!
I personally think the only way to halt this obscene maltreatment is to sling the MFers into a cage for 10 yrs minimum. I cannot understand how they keep getting away with it. Not sure who is worse, the law makers or the demonic entities that worship pieces of paper over sentient beings.
The way she looks at him shifts slowly from being afraid to look him in the eyes to looking at him for reassurance that this wonderful new life is real and she has her safe place among friends. The pack definitely was vital in bringing her back from frozen despair.
THE WORLD NEEDS SO MANY MANY MORE LEE ASHERS GOD BLESS THIS POOR DOG AND BLESS HER WITH HOPE AGAIN ❤❤❤THANK YOU LEE ASHER FOR BRINGING BACK LIFE TO THIS INNOCENT ANGEL!
@binaraghu846 without a doubt!!! The love and passion he shows for all his rescues, and there are MANY is beyond amazing he's an amazing human being ❤️❤️❤️
@@logancraddick7507 It really isn't. Dogs are pack animals so being alone isn't normal or healthy for them. This is a good thing to get her comfortable around humans. Get educated, boy.
They can smell so much, they could probably smell that she had been pregnant recently, and since she didn't have any pups that means she lost her pups. They could smell her sadness and her fear and they went into defence mode barking at the things she might be afraid of seeing which one they needed to bark at for her to be less frightened.
I rescued a beagle that had been a caged puppy mill victim for 8 years. Her teeth are nubs from chewing on the cage bars. She couldn’t be stroked and did not understand the touch of other dogs. Took a whole year of love and patience and long off-lease desert jaunts for Poppy to understand and embrace pack mentality and to accept physical contact from me and my other three pups. Seeing Poppy heal from her loveless-PTSD life, and grow into a rabbit chasing beagle is a beautiful thing. F’’’ puppy mills.
I’m with you…F*^k puppy mills and the shitty humans that run them 🤬 All dogs go to heaven, hope the puppy mill owners go straight to hell 🙏🏼💔 Karma is a bitch, greedy greedy heartless POS that do this to innocent souls
Aw man, this one really got to me. You could see it in her face how broken she was. She didn't even care that she was rescued, she was just done with life. Poor sweet baby
Its hurtful to see how done she was.. It will take a very sadistic inhumane to make this beautiful soul to lose hope like lucy is now because i have my 2 retriever already 1 passed away at 12 yrs and a month and now the one i have is 7 yrs i know very well im the one who loose hope and always the optimistic one but when i see my dog they have the power to make me feel peace, even when j im not okay i forgot that with presence of dog they have the power.. Even if i have my own child i will give the same love i give for my dog i dont know how to love more than i do with my dogs thats how dog change my heart to positive
I'M crying watching You withe the Abused, withdrawn, Lucy!😖😢🐕 Thank You Lee for pouring out Your Love to her right away, Your Instincts are true!😢 We Really Need to watch You HELPING the Dogs in these days, ie to LEARN how to HELP abused, abandoned, and tortured Dogs!❤❤❤🙏🙏🙏📬🐕🐕🐕😖😥🇺🇸🌎🐕
After so short a time, Lucy began looking at you as her protector; the change in her eyes was incredible. This is truly a case of "I Love Lucy", what a sweet pup.
How could anyone mistreat this beautiful dog. You really could see the life come back into her eyes in a few short days. Love how the other dogs look after her. So glad those people called you. She now will have the life she deserves, thank goodness.
Such a beautiful girl. She will have an awesome home at the Asher House now. She will be loved by everyone! I am happy you took her Lee. God bless everyone there. She is part of the great PACK! No harm to her ever again.
She is FREE from all harm and is now going to live a Happy life with this dedicated man taking in All these rescues. BLESSINGS TO HIM ALWAYS ❤Thank you Sir.
Sometimes when I miss my dog that has passed, I come to the Asher house channel. I imagine this is what Rainbow Bridge is like. Just a bunch of happy dogs walking, hiking, playing, and living together with a wonderful caretaker. I look forward to seeing my pup again.
I agree with your beautiful statement. I look forward to seeing all my beautiful dogs in Heaven some day also. But they walk beside my beautiful daughter, Dana, up in Heaven, where I know they never leave her side!!
How beautiful!!! We rescued a galgo from Spain who was terribly abused and then hung from a tree. The organization in Madrid who rescues these poor souls cut him down - so he took a plain from Madrid to NY and now he's our's and we love him to the moon and back. You know, we rescue them, but they also give back to us. God bless them.
@@marcog6056 simply puresouls. And total innocents. Ihope theres a special place in hell for anyone qho hurts them. EVER. IJust dont know how anyone ever commits repeated abuse, of animals or people! And it happens too damn often. What is the matter with us?!
She was so broken and scared at the start. Then she blossomed. I cried thru most if this one - first, with grief, then with relief and joy. Lucy, enjoy your new, beautiful life!
She has the saddest eyes at the beginning of the video but is wagging her tail at the end!! All animals need are love and security. Thanks for being the one to do that for so many animals! ❤
Ive noticed that when you first get the dogs, even on the pack walks… and they are loose, they still stick relatively close to you - you are their safety and they trust you and that is cool ❤️ Thank you for being you and doing what you do! Animals are just magical creatures ❤️
The "Power of the Pack". I love how, with every rescue, one or two members of the Asher Pack take on the role of protector/guide, then everyone follows suit. I also think of the 1st trip to the creek/river, is like a baptism, they're new life has begun. Lucy seemed to be smiling up at you when you were on that walk. huge hugs to her, the rest of the pack and also to you.
This one broke me! Lee, you are such a healer and a gift to these animals. When you called Miss Lucy a beautiful lady, your beautiful spirit came through so strongly and you are exactly what she needed!
This was so lovely. I love how she started gently wagging her tail and doing little checks that you were still there. I'm full of admiration for what you do. It can't be easy but it's obviously what you were meant for.
The way she looks up at you on the walk down and back at you in the river is beautiful. It's as if she's just relaxing but checking to make sure her rescuer/protector is still there for her. She's a gorgeous lady. Shame on the people who hurt and abused her. Thank you for rescuing her.
I get the feeling she is broken without her puppies! When she can accept that they are gone she will learn to enjoy the life you are offering her. I can’t wait to watch her come back to life. The change in just a few days is already amazing but I think there is so much more to come for this beautiful mama! Please don’t think I’m being negative! I just see such a broken heart and can’t wait to watch her work through it and heal. I can’t wait to watch her fall completely in love with Lee! As much as Lee is blessing her, I think he will get back so much more from her in time! ❤️ Sending so much love to you Lee!
I know, I was just crying for her because you’re absolutely right , she knows her babies are out there somewhere and she probably wonders what those terrible people are doing to them. The pack seems to understand what she’s going through so I believe they’ll help her through it. And of course Lee is going to do whatever it takes to get her through it. This one was a difficult one for me, and I’m sure for everyone.
It's heartbreaking. She's been so very traumatized. But she's in heaven on earth for dogs now, and you can tell she realizes that Lee will never hurt her. She keeps looking back at him like "Is this really my home now? I really get to stay here?" God bless this man.
@judi R…. I’m really sure that you are right about her behavior having to do with sadness over puppy loss. I didn’t see/hear him mention that. Hopefully she has been vet checked ….but, it’s nice to know she’s somewhere in a place of big love…💖
Sweet baby, you can just see the fear in her eyes at first. I sincerely hope karma comes for whoever did this to her, I don't even want to call them people because you really just have to be a heartless monster. It's so beautiful how the pack is always willing to accept a new family member as if they always belonged. Thank you for taking her in and showing her what unconditional love feels like.
Karma's a really big B**** I hope it bites them hard on their a**!!!! Not lightly either. I hope it ruins their life. But this man that saved all those dogs has good karma coming his way ❤️
What Lee does for dogs is nothing short of a miracle. Thank GOD this dog wound up with him because I don't know that she would have recovered otherwise. I plan on making a sizable donation to The Asher House and I would encourage others to donate what they can as well. This man is doing God's work here.
It broke my heart to see how broken, scared and sad Lucy was. She seemed almost lifeless. Lee you truly are an earth angel. It's remarkable what you do for these fur babies. Lucy looks like a different dog. All thanks to your patience and love. I am so thankful she is with you and part of the pack at Asher House. She will have the best life possible and always be loved. God bless you Lee. You are an amazing human being. Exceptional human being.😊❤
People tell me I'm crazy for having 5 cats , all rescues from feral cat colonies or abandoned on the the street... and I tell em, F off what have YOU done for the good of the world, eh? Have you stopped to help the voiceless? The forgotten? The discarded? I shame them. And this man does the same ... with his pack.
God bless both you and whoever is reading, dont forget Jesus loves you. He died on the cross for our sins and rose three days later. Have an amazing and safe day!❤️!!!
Dear Lee, I'm writing to you from Poland. There are in here a lot of people who look up to you not only for what you do for animals, but also for what you are like in general. We love you. You have my deepest admiration, respect and support. Thanks to you I try to be a better person every single day, and thanks to you I value life more and see many little things that I haven't appreciated before. Those things are, for example, a hug with my cat in the morning or the way the horses welcome me in the stable. It's so pure and honest. Thank you for raising my awareness and teaching me which direction to choose to be happy and give happiness. Thank you❤
Thank you for sharing your story as well. I'm on my path as well in regards of this. Knowing what to look for and how to be through not only my own choices and people I surround myself with, but people such as yourself that takes a healthier approach to life is motivating and fills me with joy and hope for the future. Keep fighting the good fight :)
It’s so healthy to see Good human beings. So much madness on the news, and in politics (US). I just love animals (esp dogs) and folks that help, and aren’t afraid to love.
Several of these comments refer to humans doing this horrible stuff to animals. THESE THINGS ARE NOT HUMAN. They are monsters in our midst. And never forget that.
Dogs are social animals, they feel secure and comfortable when in a “pack”, whether it is made of dogs or humans or other animals. I think the other dogs really helped heal her. 💜
I agree I bet more healing came from other animals than that of this kind hearted man but that's the beauty of what humans CAN have a role in people ruind this dog and this man and his animals worked in Unison to heal it
It was so obvious how scared she was in the car when Lee started petting her after they got home. She was expecting to be hurt! So thankful that a good person first found her, then found Lee.
My God I cried ugly cry throughout this whole video. I just don’t understand how anyone could hurt a dog or any animal?! It truly hurts my heart to see what these beautiful babies go through. Thank God for you and the beautiful love and life you give them. There should be thousands upon thousands of more angels like you in this world. 💜🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏😘🤗🤗🤗🤗
Oh my. 😭 This story reminds me of my Lulu Belle so much. She was scared of everything when we first rescued her, even just having a collar put on to go for a walk or the park. She'd been bounced house to house so much, getting into a vehicle just meant insecurity. It took many, MANY trips, doing just every random errand with her along for the ride, to convince her our house was her forever home, that we'd always be coming back to the same place. I'll always remember the day she didn't tremble, but got happy, when I got the collar and leash out. Man, she was such a great dog. We had many wonderful years together.❤❤❤ This beautiful girl will be the belle of the ball pretty soon. Thank you for giving her a life.
I totally agree with you!!! My dog, a rescue from Spain, is afraid of men. Because of bad experience. The way Lee controlls his energy and does everything to make her feel safe and welcome, does say it all! Truly amaizing!!! At the end, where we could see her smile, I also grinned from ear to ear 😊
Those look backs where she makes sure he’s there and you can see she’s happier. That pack walk was beautiful. Like she finally realized she was home and safe with her new favorite human and many new brothers and sisters
Lucy regularly looking back to Lee on the walk is a wonderful thing to behold as it demonstrates her increasing trust in him. Looking forward to Lucy's continued improvement. Well done, Mr. Asher.
I know exactly how you feel...this video makes me cry and angry ...thinking about any dog who is abused...😢 We know you will Love her and give her the BEST life ❤ Thank you Lee....for having a Huge heart and helping Save all these animals. 🙏🙏🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙏🙏
Having had goldens for over 30 years, it absolutely breaks my heart to see how scared she was of humans. Goldens LOVE their humans; they’re not call Velcro dogs for no reason. And for her human to fail her as bad as they did… shame on them. Lee, you have a gift that is unmatched. Thank you for all you do for these innocent, hurt souls and bring them back to a life with love and kindness they deserve.
Lucy has been raped repeatedly & no wonder she didn't know how to act but she knows You have a lot of Love and You only Wants the best for her❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
My girl was only part retriever but my goodness, the siren call of people would have her running from a mile away. Our little doxie mix curmudgeon hated it when she’d make a straight beeline for the drunk sorority girls😂.
I have a 120 lb, 5 yr old male Golden named Sammy lying on me as I write this. I was giving Sammy and his brother and litter mate, Dean, kisses as I watched this video. Goldens are such sweet dogs.
Dear Lucy bear, im sorry we humans failed you but from now on your days will be filled with love and happiness. As it should be..thank you Lee!!! You are the best! ❤
I’m so sad for her too. She probably missed her babies. They made her have babies and they took her babies away. I’m so sad when I saw this but I’m so glad she’s with you now. We need more people like you who care and love furry babies. Thank you
Look at her checking to see where Daddy is ever few seconds. I just love how even though she doesn’t engage in obvious affection behaviors at first, she is always looking at & for her dad, checking to be sure he’s there. It’s so beautiful and powerful. Love heals.
Haha Yea I noticed her looking up at him too, making sure alls well. Animals who have been mistreated always seem so nervous as if they're forever walking on egg shells. Never knowing when the next blows gonna come. They're not so different from humans in that regard. I lived with an abuser for longer than I care to admit. I know exactly how Lucy feels.
6:06 Never have I ever seen a dog that doesn't perk up at the magic word, "Walk." She doesn't seem to know the word at all, which shows just how cooped up and abusive her previous life was. How amazing that she shows zero aggression when she has every right to be. I'm speechless at this angelic dog's ability to forgive us humans and trust again, within a matter of days.
You my friend had a connection with Lucy the minute you saw her. Your soul felt her pain, and took it from her. So she would feel the love and confidence she needed. So as she felt comfortable with you and the pack she could feel all the love you all gave her. She is going to have the best life, with you and your love and the packs love. You make my heart so full, love ya my friend!!🧡🧡🥰
The way she “checks in” with you at 8:22 is absolutely magical! As an animal behaviorist & rehabilitator (mostly dogs) those are the moments that I live for! When a dog checks in with you they’re looking for your lead, that reassurance & trust that a pack leader gives, the fact that a severely emotionally damaged dog is checking in with you as her pack lead after only a week is truly a magical thing, that’s gotta make you feel great! This is the first video I’ve seen from this channel, but I’ll definitely be checking out more!
In her wildest dreams Lucy probably never envisioned this amazing place and that she would be in the middle of it. You are slowly and surely mending Lucy’s broken spirit with your kindness and love. The way she kept looking back at you on the walk was beautiful and uplifting. Thank you for sharing Lucy’s story and I look forward to seeing her blossom at the Sanctuary.💕
The best part is how authentic, humbling, and carefree Lee Asher is when creating another video to introduce a new member to the pack. Lee, Lucy trusted you the moment you and her stepped outside the gym room. Count the multiple times she looks up at you and “checks-in”. Such a sweet girl...
I know you will do your best for Lucy! It is so hard when you know the animal was abused. I know she will be in your pack in no time at all. God Bless ❤❤❤❤
Indeed the other dogs all took some of her worries and pain, even the horses. That way she can move forward, step by step gets easier. But not without you near. You were her only motivation. All was new, nice was new. The riverwater will strengthen her bellymuscles and her internal tears (must have been many) could slowly float away with the water. That was a nice meal you prepared her Asher ! Until her last days she'll remember that.
Action speaks louder than voice is too much real in dogs they dont need to hear or see they know emotions run deep.. Fun fact: my dogs know when im out of money.. If i dont give him meat he just eat biscuits.. Means he dont enjoy much biscuits but he do eat not rejecting or making himself hungry for meat..
@@deathchronicles6960 I don't know where, but I heard there are places that will help you feed your doggies if you can't afford it. Check it out online. Maybe call your local Humane Society and ask them. If you lived near me in Alabama, I would help with dog food.
The fear in her eyes, when she first arrived was simply heartbreaking. Then, slowly, you could see the rebirth of hopefulness. Then, the dawning of new trust and allowing herself to open her heart to you and the pack. A stunning rescue. Thx for all you do to bring the rebirth of love in these beautiful angels in fur coats. 🥰
Wow. Accidentally came across your video with Poppy which led to Lucy. I can’t usually watch anything remotely emotional involving dogs but something compelled me to keep watching… I’m blown away by what you do for these dogs… Dogs are the best things on this planet. Thank you from England.
Yes, right with you there. Also from England and on my 6th golden. I can’t articulate what I would like to happen to the people who put her in this state.
@@Romcom356 I call myself spiritual and i do think that Love and Kindness are the only two things that can save this world, but when i witness any animal cruelty or abuse, which always leave me shaken to the deepest core, i can't help having not so kind and loving thoughts towards those, so called human beings, who think that it's totally OK and human-like to mistreat, hurt, abuse, abandon, torture and kill animals for pure pleasure and entertainment. I only pray to God that those people are being stopped eventually, punished and have all that cruelty and sufferings they inflict on helpless, innocent creatures, come back to them tenfold stronger and much more painful. And i don't even feel guilty for thinking this way.
Oh dear, dear Lucy. It seems she'd gone way inside- I think she would have stayed there but for the shock of the love and kindness you gave her. She's got her best years ahead🐕
You are an Angel. 🐕❤ In my darkest hour I found your channel & like a ray of light you fill my heart with hope. . There's still kindness & purity on this earth. Bless you.
Lucy has found her “ doggy heaven”. I’m soo happy for her, she was grieving for her baby’s and Lee has given her a reason to keep going. She finally has a loving family. 😊❤
This hits me hard because I had a beautiful Golden for 15 years. She sadly passed away last year due to old age. Goldens make great family dogs and are the happy go lucky type. She did not know a stranger and absolutely loved everyone she met. I cannot believe how people can be so dang cruel.
😢💔 no words can express the anger I feel when I see a poor creature that wants nothing but to please and be loved treated like Lucy was! 😤 Lee you have a God given gift 💝
Caring and sharing is what He wants us to do for animals .. for the great extent you're going to look after all these doggies you will be rewarded ... what a kind man you are to take in dogs no matter what where why and where from .. be blessed all the way ...
She’s probably sad about her puppies. I love when he introduces scared dogs to the pack. You can see them melt into it like oh look proof this is a good human
I'm wondering if her puppies were out in the woods of the house she was found at? I really hope they looked really hard to make sure. She might have left them to find food or something 🤔
This is so beautiful. When you got her, she was conditioned to ignore instincts and just surrender. With Your patience and love, combined with the healthy pack and gorgeous sanctuary- she finally can have a great life ♥️🙏🏻 thank you for everything you do!!

Think about the dairy industry, too. Also, that’s all us humans do. We rip their babies away from them for pets.

Huh. I think I might be a golden retriever
I personally think the only way to halt this obscene maltreatment is to sling the MFers into a cage for 10 yrs minimum. I cannot understand how they keep getting away with it.
Not sure who is worse, the law makers or the demonic entities that worship pieces of paper over sentient beings.

@@logancraddick7507 It really isn't. Dogs are pack animals so being alone isn't normal or healthy for them. This is a good thing to get her comfortable around humans. Get educated, boy.
Seeing how the other dogs wanted to protect her the second they met her 😭 its like they knew all about her struggles ... Thank you for saving Lucy
They absolutely wanted to protect her and help her overcome what she has been through. So incredibly sweet to see!!
Very true! What a loving pack.
a lot of them have similar stories of being abandoned and finding a home with the pack, so i’m sure they’re all pros at giving newcomers greetings :)
You damn right about "F" puppy mills and animal abusers!
Bless you for taking that time with Poppy that she needed ❤

What a nice lil ol pup! She has a beautiful coat! How old do you think she is?
Exactly. That’s NOT what a dogs existence should be about. It should be about mutual friendship and a human’s response to their unwavering loyalty.
To watch the transformation of Lucy is incredible feeling. I hope she is at her happiest self.
When she went on that pack walk... the absolute adoration and joy in her eyes brought me to tears. Her little tail wags 😭

This one got to me too. It was hopeful though, so I’m going to dwell on that.

Going to the creek is like dog heaven. So definitely a baptism.
And at the end of the video, it was as if she looked back at him to say , thank you for saving my life. 😢😢

I know, I was just crying for her because you’re absolutely right , she knows her babies are out there somewhere and she probably wonders what those terrible people are doing to them.
We need more men like Lee, and it's heart-warming seeing the first times Lucy started walking with and looking to him 🥰
I totally agree with you!!! My dog, a rescue from Spain, is afraid of men. Because of bad experience. The way Lee controlls his energy and does everything to make her feel safe and welcome, does say it all! Truly amaizing!!! At the end, where we could see her smile, I also grinned from ear to ear 😊
Yes but I think all people in general should be like this
Well, yeah!
Asher.
Not only trusting but looking to him for guidance
The slow realization that he's not going to hurt her and that all the other dogs trust him. So happy she found her pack that will love her.
