There's nothing more loving and heartwarming than seeing a child and a dog growing up together like this!
"You really don’t know what kind of dog you’re gonna end up with” is such a true statement. People get dogs thinking they’ll just instinctively know How to behave but we don’t know what they’ve been through, when they’re rescued. A dog who seems untrusting, destructive or naughty could be dealing with a lot of psychological baggage from traumatic experiences. Give them love, discipline and structure and they can blossom, being capable of things neither you nor the dog could’ve ever imagined. Wonderful message.
Seconded--My first dog actually had a lot of issues with destructiveness, too. I think my parents were seriously considering trying to find her a different home when she tore apart our couch. But we worked with her, gave her things of her own she could chew on without upsetting anyone, and we just tried to reinforce that. She ended up being one of the most amazing dogs I've ever known. She was incredibly intelligent as well as very kind and loving. We had so many amazing experiences with her and we never would have known how great she was if we hadn't put in that effort. Be safe, but don't give up on a dog who might be having a hard time. They can really surprise you and truly become your best friend
Kendall over came her separation anxiety and stopped tearing up the house, her motherly instinct came to the fore and she is now a loyal companion to Austin. Dogs are so special and deserve so much more from us.
So glad they were patient and gave her time to adjust through her "destructive phase" so many people just expect adoptive pet to come into a home and be grateful that they don't consider the animal needs to adjust just like we do to a new environment and they abandon the pet as quick as they adopted it
That's why proper training, to both dog and owners, are vital. People just expect animals to magically behave and everything will be alright, then they abandon them on the side of the road. 🤦
It's similar to a puppy regardless of the dogs age. There's always an adjustment period to 'this is a human you live with.' When I dog sit for friends this is my philosophy of care.
I have had dogs all my life until now. I am 70 Year's old. The apts where I live aren't designed for many people to have a pet. I have RA, osteo arthritis, degenerative disc disease and I live alone.

Aww, my Buddy used to do the rounds before he turned in for the night. It’s was the cutest thing. We didn’t train that, he just started doing it on his own, checking in on his girls and every person, even if we had company, before he’d finally lay down for the night himself 🤷🏻♀️ We lost him to cancer almost a year ago and we miss him terribly 💔
@@TitanTheBeast23 Aw, thank you so much. His cancer was in tumors around his heart and very aggressive, most common form of cancer in Boxers, he’d just gotten a clean bill of health only 6 months before. His cardiac event happened and a few hours later we lost him. It really was devastating, we had no time to prepare. Our second dog, 11yr old Brandy, lasted only 6 months after Buddy passed, dying in June of ‘21. She had lymphoma, the most common form of cancer in all dogs. But with her we had time to prepare ourselves. We took her on hikes and to the beach and gave her everything she wanted while she was nearing the end of her life. Still devastating, but different, ya know? Time to absorb heartbreak helps to soften the blow, at least a little bit. Even still, I think you should get one! Even though I’m heartbroken over their losses, I’m far more grateful that I had them in my life for 12 & 11 years, respectively. Having a dog is like nothing else, it’s pure, genuine love & loyalty. It’s also good for mental health and good for your blood pressure too!! Those benefits have have been proven! ♥️ We’re about to pick up a rescue next Saturday as a matter of fact! We gave ourselves time to grieve our losses and we’re now ready to open our hearts & home once again to a furball of pure joy! We cannot wait! 🥰
I am crying as if I will never stop. Dogs are a huge part of our families and sometimes that extra special one comes along. Austin and Kendall are meant to be together and they will both benefit from this special bond. What a lovely family and how lucky the 'boys' have parents who are just so extra kind and taking Kendall home. I wish you the very best.
I became an Aunt at 10 years old, and when my sister visited with my niece, our St. Barnard would stand guard over her, drooling on her and all, lol! This reminds me of that. They see the newborn as the newest member of the pack to be protected!
When I was born, my dad put a Husky/Malamute puppy in my crib. We actually grew up together. Since at that time we were living in Alaska we could take our dogs to school with us. Smiley lived to be SEVENTEEN YEARS OLD and he was healthy. His death was extremely hard to bare but the VETERINARIAN said that he died of old age. Every single child should have a dog to grow up with.
This is so beautiful! Thank God for saving her. I'm sure she knew you gave her a chance in life. So she showed you and your family protection and love 💘
So beautiful that you have given this beautiful dog a chance and you have been rewarded with love and loyalty. Your beautiful son will learn a few life lessons and will grow up to be compassionate like his parents. God bless you all

Five years ago we took a dog from the nearby shelter he was four months old and grew up with his three-year-old neighbor's daughter. often this little girl came to us in the afternoon to spend time with my mother and consequently she made friends with the dog. one day she fell asleep on the sofa and the dog stood by to check if everything was quiet. they have a very strong bond
You guys are a great family I'm so happy for you, and don't even know you. And it's your pups that complete that image I have of you and I'm sure the rest of the world does as well . Always celebrate your family irregardless of achievements, but most of all praise your pups they say more about you than your successes ever will.
And to think that Kendall was going to be euthanized. Makes me sad to think about how many other dogs never get a chance to fulfill their purpose. Thank you to the family for adopting!
I know, it really hurts my heart that dogs get "euthanized" or murdered because some jerk failed to take care of them like they promised. Dogs are so sweet, innocent and loving, of all creatures they really deserve to be protected. As I've said before I grew up with five dogs (1 collie/beagle mix, 2 German shepherds, 1 Siberian husky and one Alaskan malamute; oh and 1 Persian cat) and growing up with them was the best experience in my life. I really learned what love was through them.
Nice parents for rescuing Kendall and he is appreciative of being adopted. So sweet towards your son kindness and love is both ways is obvious...nice story.
It is so wonderful that the parents allow the child to grow up under these happy circumstances. I can only congratulate them for this decision, honestly 👍👍👍 and i honestly believe that all of this will have a positive effect on the child's life. I wish the whole family a healthy and wonderful life in the future 🙋♀😀💓 especially in this current weird time ... XXX
Reminds me of the pictures I've seen of my grandparent's dog sleeping next to the baby carriage where I'm sleeping, she was just a pup then. Just a lovely doggo, I still miss her.
All dogs are good dogs (I grew up with five) it is owners that may make them corrupt with abuse. Anyone who has seen puppies know they come out into the world so full of love and joy, such innocent beings, and loyal to the end.
That is TRUE LOVE. There is nothing in this world that can compare to a dogs love especially between a child and a dog. Just so loyal and all they want in return is to have the love of their humans.

You can see that Kendall knows there is a human "puppy" inside Mom's belly. The dog understood. That's why the dog was gentle playing with Austin when he was a baby - she understands that Austin is her human owner's puppy. The empathy is amazing.
What a beautiful story. That dog is so precious and he's such a good protector. I hope they grow up happy and full of life. They'll certainly have an amazing journey.
We’ve had many many dogs over the years and our Golden Retriever Rip is by far the best family dog we’ve ever owned. My old chihuahua that lived for 18 years was my best pal, but hated everyone else. Rip loves everyone.
This is such a heartwarming beautiful story ❤️❤️❤️ Thank you for saving this precious dog. She was lucky to end up in such a loving beautiful family. My heart is melting ❤️❤️❤️
And to think she was hours away from being euthanized! A big thank you from one foster fail to another... This family got a special dog and she got a very special boy and family. Sometimes things are definitely meant to be.
My current dog patches wouldn't leave my little sisters side all throughout her chemo treatment and the only time he'd be away from her was when he went out for a wazz or a dump in in the last month's of my sister's time on earth my brother and I ended up putting down clean puppy pads in the lobby sohed not be far from her. Even now a year since she passed the little bugger still as we do miss her, we've still got patches and yes he's coming back out of his shell.
She has a LOT of yellow lab in her, which explains her vigilance. Labs are just the sweetest. She almost looks like she is a cross between a lab and a golden retriever. THAT would explain a lot!
I am so envious of this young and his dog. It's amazing how much this dog has got such a loving personality. Quite incredible. All thanks to the supreme being who created this wonderful earth and this vast universe . Thank you
Growing up, I was the oldest of five kids. We'd had our boxer mix Treasure for about two year when we realized that each night, she had a circuit. At breakfast one morning, somebody decided to boast that "Treasie slept on MY bed last night!" and somebody else said "No, she was with ME!" And that's how we found out that every night, she would go bed-to-bed checking on all five of us. Dogs are the best.
Good on you for persisting when she became destructive. Many simply consider it too much work and return the dog to the shelter. Austin has a wonderful best friend.
The beautiful colors n wonders of this amazing world, so overwhelming n heartwarming it is. Love, respect n take care of this world n its beings please ❤️
The dog is a gift from God to humans. Some question if we would have even made it as a species if the dog wasn't there by our side as a protector and hunting partner. I am 65 and have had dogs in my life since I was born. Each of them lives on in my heart and I know that we will be reunited one day. Nice piece, thank you.
Same here (well, I’m 63)…but have had dogs ever since I was a baby and currently have a pit bull/Jack Russell Terrier mix who’s 3. Was walking my other rescue - Boodhound/Lab - when we found her one day 2 1/2 years ago. She’d been shot in the chest & dumped in a field. 🤬 Luckily the bullet just grazed her and she was fine. Not sure if I’ll get another dog…I want one so much, but am getting up in age and no fenced in yard. Would love to get a retired Greyhound!
@@bohemoth1 I’m leaning very strongly that way, no matter what my family & friends say…I’m in pretty good shape and the walking would be wonderful. I miss it, but slacked up after my big guy left us. He & I used to go 4 miles/day. I think my dog would like a sister or brother, too. 👍🏼🦮🐾🐾🐕🐾🐾🤗 Thanks & have a great day/week/month…lol
@@lynnhoffmann247 Here in Florida the Greyhound racing has been banned since January 1, 2021 but it ended before that. It is also banned in 39 other states which is a good thing. Maybe get yourself an older dog? :)

Very cute. Our newly adopted pup was recently a empty nester momma dog and when my sister and brother in law brought their five week old firstborn home for Christmas our pup fell in love and was obsessed! She was very calm and gentle with him (which is unlike her usual personality) and would frequently search him out to check on him. When my sister would go into another room to breastfeed with privacy, our little girl would whimper outside the door and even try to see him or smell him through the bottom crack of the door. She loved him! It was very sweet

This is such a heartwarming beautiful story ❤️❤️❤️ Thank you for saving this precious dog. She was lucky to end up in such a loving beautiful family. My heart is melting ❤️❤️❤️
@Tadana Sedlacklova. Yes! I am crying...great story. BFF ❤🐾❤
These dogs are amazing so gentle and faithful.
And to think she was hours away from being euthanized! A big thank you from one foster fail to another... This family got a special dog and she got a very special boy and family. Sometimes things are definitely meant to be.
You are special parents and your son is LUCKY !.........love Kendall !
this dog is an angel

I love how dog owners talk like they know what the dog is thinking. It's so sweet.
We do....I think.
@@kb9072i think we do alot of projecting
A dog is a child's best friend"
I believe that with all my heart ❤.
thank you for your puppy love and giving Kendall a new life .
Basically every dog. When my kids slept till 9am on weekends, our dog would not even come to have his breakfast and walk until the kids got up.
So cute
Kids+dogs is truly the best combination!
Adorable little boy. Adorable pups. Lovely family. They are truly a testament that life is as good as you make it. God bless them.💕🙏💕
Austin's love and devotion for Kendall is amazing.💕💕
What a wonderful match! A lifetime friendship from the beginning.
🙏🏻💗🙏🏻
Every little kid needs a great dog! He’ll develop empathy and compassion because he grew up with a dog.
She has a LOT of yellow lab in her, which explains her vigilance. Labs are just the sweetest. She almost looks like she is a cross between a lab and a golden retriever. THAT would explain a lot!
Hey
It's definitely a golden retriever mix
I am so envious of this young and his dog. It's amazing how much this dog has got such a loving personality. Quite incredible. All thanks to the supreme being who created this wonderful earth and this vast universe . Thank you
"A dog is a man's best friend."
Not only man, but for boys, babies and probably everyone.
females too..
Pitbull has joined the chat.
"man" here means humans, genius.
@@super-z8943 really, genius???
@@christinwilhelmsen9460 yeah, you need to point this out to some empty buckets. Just unbelievable!
Yes dogs are truly mans best friend! What a great dog, he's a lucky boy to have him and that dog found the perfect family 🥰
Austin is so adorable oh my gosh! What a sweet pup he has!
You ever watch something that just gives you tears of happiness? 🥰
So adorable this dog deserves lots of treats
Pets are extremely loyal, kind and Loving 🙏❤❤
What a beautiful story. Love makes a difference.

Hey take the chance and get yourself a dog. Who knows you just might live longer than you expect.
@@JH-ex6mb Yes, exactly why I want a Greyhound! Or are you saying they’re hard to find now? I live in a little town in the middle of nowhere, so will have to keep my eyes & ears open about an adoption event in a bigger city.
PS - My bloodhound/lab was 4-5 years old when I got him.
Falling in love with the foster is the best kind of result. You know no one will love them more
What a beautiful story from beautiful little people and beautiful animals.
May she live forever.
Awe that is just so cute. A dog and her boy . I love how she thinks little boy is her is sticks to him like glue . That bond will last for lifetime.
