I've had many great dogs, bird dogs, nice home people dogs etc... the Goldens are by far THE BEST dog breed ever! People are friendly, so incredibly easy to train, and they are so very eager to please their owners. They are absolutely a gift! R.I.P Hunter! Love U man!

sa9amisan, Have you considered adopting an older Goldie? They are a bit more calm than younger ones and older dogs do not get adopted as much. You could help him or her live a comfortable rest of their life, while they help you live a better life in return. Call the local dog shelters and rescue organizations and let them know you would be interested in adopting an older Goldie. I'm sure they would be able to help you. P.S. You usually don't have to potty train an older dog.
