Thanks for this video. I just needed visuals on a few things. I have to replace the boot on the bottom of the twin sticks but it seems based on your video I can just unbolt it off the top through the cabin and remove the assembly and then change the boot and put it back together. Thanks a ton for the video!
Most of the instructions I found were for gear driven cases, and I wasn't sure if they were similar. Fairly easy mod. Hardest part was probably cutting the little stubby part on the shift rail without getting metal in the case.
@@rustysprocket8725 the instructions are listed under Tacoma on their site. And of course you’re right. I was reading the wrong instructions. Thanks for the video. Subscribed keep them coming.
On a 1995 landcruiser 3x locked I so far installed the low range gear and the spool to get rid of the part time 4wd. My truck has the stock transferase hooked to an automatic. What would this mod do for me. I was trying to figure out a way to select front wheel drive or rear. I also added locking hubs to the front.
I think there is an adapter plate called "Tacobox" that lets you double up two cases. Its been a while but Google that name, i think Marlin crawler makes it

👏 first how-to video for twin stick chain transfer case. Excellent video
Yes, hopefully it helps a lot of people out. Definitely a cool mod.
I’m about to do this too. Wish I read the instructions when I had the case out! 😂

@@rustysprocket8725 do you have to cut that piece off or just remove the pill?
I’m not finding much instructions either.
You have to cut it off. That piece interlocks both shift rails from moving independently.

I don't think you can get fwd or rwd from this mod on your transfercase, not 100% sure though.
Can I do this and with a 1997 4runner 3.4 manual
Should work
Thank you did you have to modify the transmission shifter
No, i did bend the twin sticks a little bit for better clearance
Thanks a ton
Last question what kinda truck did you do this on? Out of curiousity
Chain driven cases are typically found in automatic 6 cylinder trucks?
I think that 2nd gen 4runner & up is all chain driven, but not 100% sure.
Can you regear this to 4.7?
I don't think that's possible with the chain drives.
@@rustysprocket8725 dang it!

@rustysprocket8725 I know that one but I am trying to find a poormans crawl box
Nice. Why was removing the shift fork so hard? Just out of curiosity? I doing this to my 03 Tacoma, the parts should be here soon.
I believe it involved taking the chain and sprocket off. Not 100% sure though.
Where did you find those twin sticks?
