Since the FJ t case is meant to be run in 4WD all the time(im not talking about the truck necessarily), why not just delete the whole ADD by leaving it engaged. Disabling the VSC was one of the first things I did when I got my truck. It was causing me issues when pulling out into traffic from a stop. It's a common thing in the first gen community for people to disable VSC/TRAC, it especially starts acting wacky when you lift your truck and put bigger tires on it. @@treehouseoffroad - good to know. My truck was at the dealership for 10 weeks. Yeah, that’s right… 10 weeks. Their best guess was that the 4WD ECM was the problem and not the actuator. The vacuum line on the transfer case actuator was dry-rotted and separated when the problem started.
@@jonmccann1324 Wow 10 weeks that's insane. I had a similar situation when I first got my truck. What I've learned is the t-case actuator, the front diff ADD actuator, and the 4wd ECU all communicate. If one of those things isn't operating correctly, it won't complete it's 2wd-4wd cycle properly. It's an overly complex system, get an FJ case and be done with it!
Also you probably know this but there are only vent lines on the actuators, no vacuum lines.
Is it not recommended driving on the road in 4wd after case swap?
Correct it is now a true 4WD system and not recommended for high traction situations
