anything "gaming" increases the price automatically 75%. adding "pro" increases it another 50%. wireless is +100%. this keyboard should only really be like $50.
They saw a Newman keyboard and went, "I bet we can take that $25 China keyboard with a metal baseplate, make it completely out of plastic, and charge nearly 700% more for it."
They somehow make both the best and worst crap. Because their mice are on the top and ngl, some of them deserve it, but this keyboard and some of others? The WORST OF THE WORST for the price
So the really cool thing about Logitech software, is that the new control panel doesn't support older devices, which means you need to have the old Logitech control panel installed for those devices. Sounds like a minor inconvenience? Well, you can't have both installed at the same time. You get to choose either the newer devices, *or* the old ones. So if you have an old racing wheel and a new mouse, you're SOL.
Perhaps Logitech's main mistake here was attempting to make a _keyboard._ Like, the kind people use for gaming and/or serious typing. What they excel at is making glorified television remotes, not daily workhorse keyboards.
gaming keyboards dont exist they just market normal keyboards with rgb and low form factor like the custom keyboard industry hasnt been doing this for years and tcustom accel at being a keyboard more than anything big companies will advertise
Try the Razer Basilisk V3. It has an infinite scroll wheel, but you can click a button just below it to switch to clicky scrolling. I know some Logitech have that too, but I use middle click all the time, so I can't stand the type that switches scroll modes with middle click. My favorite part though is that it has a smart mode where the scroll wheel is clicky until you try to scroll extra fast and then it automatically switches to infinite scroll until you stop it or it loses momentum, then it goes back to clicky. So nice, especially for like video editing and scrolling through long pages.
@@EtherealDoomed I looked it up and the G502 mice don't have it. Logitech calls it SmartShift and apparently it's only on their MX Master mouse. I'm glad it uses a button to shift between modes instead of middle click. It was just some older Logitech mice I knew did that. The smart shifting is so good though.
I have a usb wireless Logitech keyboard that has a TouchPad and it works awesome for connecting to my TV. It is in no way customizable but suits the purpose
There are more blissful ignorant people out there than there are keyboard enthusiast. They see the Logitech badge, they see the word 'gaming', they'll gobble it up.
yeah, I was one of them few years ago, and now i have g810 that is a 200 usd paperweight cos 3 switches need replacing and they are soldered and can't even buy them from logitech (proprietary switches). Never again.
but you know, in the end for absolutely normal population, casual gamers whatever, this is more than enough as keyboard :d and every other features that have diff keyboards better, its minor, and im not talking about this specific keyboard, but about your logitech badge comment, cuz mouses they are doing absolutely superb, probably best in the market, and some keyboards are also "okay"
thats why complete brand loyalty is dumb. some people feel the need to get every peripheral from one company, and they end up with probably half their stuff being overpriced junk and some stuff just overpriced for no reason but it has gaming or pro in its name.
Honestly they have no competition when it comes to mice. Some other company might be able to make better mice but none seem interested in trying. You have Logitech, the default mice that come with their respective brands and tons of nameless Chinese products. That's it
@@strayiggytv Tbh the "nameless chinese products" pretty much caught up with the big boys now when it comes to the mice. And they evolve much much faster than the dinosaurs like Logitech and Razer. Logitech released GPX2 with a big fanfare recently, and it's basically just a GPX1 copy with USB-C and 2000MHz polling rate. And they spent years making it. Brands like Lamzu, Pulsar, Vaxee and others are releasing tons of great mice frequently, around half the price, full of latest tech, 8000MHz sensors, optical switches and encoders, super light weight, hot swappable switches etc. Logitech is living off their past fame, but they aren't the inovators in the mouse market anymore either.
I've had nothing but bad experiences with logitexh mice. My g305 and g903 both had double click. Somehow a used g502 i got off ebay still works but that's it
their membrane keyboards for office work are good. mx keys. also their keyboard cases for ipads have very good typing feel. have not tried their gaming keyboards though.
Sad thing about this is, because of brand recognition people would still end up getting scammed by this. And I believe that is the target market for this
This is not a keyboard for enthusiasts, Logitech don't care about them, this is not their target. They aim for average "gamers" with extra bucks to spend, people that don't even know you can customize a keyboard
The point is that the quality is bad for a "pro" and "expensive" keyboard. You can get more quality out of your money with non-gaming mechanical keyboards
That might be a bit generous considering the prebuilt Epomaker TH80 Pro is on sale for $45 rn. I'm very new to the hobby, but as someone who has been scouring Amazon very recently looking for the right budget board to start my custom journey with, it feels like we are actually starting to get solid budget offerings, especially when you factor in sales. This keyboard honestly gave the vibes of those unnamed, near-permanently marked down boards you see listed for $20-$30
A few months ago I bought a CoolerMaster SK622 60% keyboard, as I wanted to have a teeny mechanical keyboard to bring along to LAN parties and such. Considering I just needed WASD+Space for 90% of the games I played, it's done the job quite nice. While I was watching this video, I was comparing the Logitech to my CoolerMaster, and the only thing I envied was the carrying case and the volume slider on the side. Everything else was leaps and bounds better than the Logitech, and my CoolerMaster only cost $90 USD (But I got it on sale for $59)
I'm sorry you had to pay this much for a coolermaster keyboard. For that much money you could have gotten a luck65 that has features you would have only seen on 300 or 400+ dollar keyboards 5 years ago, but now those kinds of custom keebs can be had for 60 bucks. Insane value if you ask me.
Same, I have plenty of customs, nothing games competitively like my 60he and as a huuuge plus you can actually customize it all the way, and wooting themselves teach you how to do most of it
The full metal plate being stiff can be a redeeming feature. Stiff (can feel more responsive) vs Flex (I've definitely had boards feel sluggish and too flexy)
The infinite scrollwheel of 502 is something I couldn't live without, hopefully mine will survive until their patent expires because Logitech only has like 3 options with it. Need more competition to choose from!
Keychron m6 that came out somewhat recently has it. Logitech has been officially dead to me since getting one. Multiply g502 and mx master, reduce to weight to 80 grams and sell it for $50. That's what the keychron m6 is.
@@ze_or Nice, although not sure if I could make do without the macro buttons of 502. But that does indeed have the mechanical button for it, wonder how they're getting around the patent. Since from my understanding the patent is still active for few years. (to the end of 2026 I believe)
@@ze_or I own both G502X and Keychron m6. m6 is nice and light but the software is awful, you can't change profile without opening the software, there is no button to change profile on the mouse. Beside that m6 have fewer keys than G502 that didn't help because there is no layers (or the equivalent of G-shift) on m6. The scrollwheel unlock button on m6 is really nice though due to the short travel distant, I never unlock the wheel on G502 because the button is hard to press.
@@hanley6478 I usually don't change my mouse bindings and just rebind forward/back on the app i'm using instead, so I can't really relate personally, but I see where you are coming from. Would've been really cool if keychron mouse could come with vial or something.
@@slapp3r439Beats and apple are actually fine for audio now. The best bang for buck? definitely not. But recent airpods are considered pretty good by many reputable reviewers.
This is pretty on par with most mainstream keyboards. I'm so glad people like you are out here on UA-cam talking about this. Keyboards could be so much better than they are today, and these big manufacturers could do SO MUCH MORE. Instead, let's just keep supporting these smaller keyboard makers that are pushing out amazing products!
Own mx mechanical and I am surprised that pro x 60 is such downgrade. If someone only considers logitech keyboards, just go with mx. It is little bit cheaper, full size, does not rattle and upper part of case is metal.
Their wireless mice have been a sign of the direction the company was going for awhile now. They started using switches rated at a different voltage than the batteries, which was causing their infamous double click issue, and then gaslit their customers saying that it wasn't an issue with the mouse and people were reading too much into it. I can't say I'm even a little surprised with how this keyboard went.
First pro of this keyboard: It's available in non american layouts. It's got way better latency than Keychron's keyboards do So there is a reason to get it over others, even over keychrons.
Latency is an argument I see brought up a lot, but in practice most keyboards have an acceptable latency for the majority of gamers and most people won't tell the difference
@@HipyoTech pro gaming gear has been chasing latency beyond human perception and performance for a long time. optical switches on keyboards and mice exist just for this reason. also they have longer lifespan because there is no mechanical contact and abrasion.
I have Logitech G613 lightspeed and I have a RK84PRO. I cannot tell the difference between either and I'm playing Apex Legends with them. Granted I prefer my Wooting 60HE for Apex for Super Glides but the difference in latency is not noticeable unless I swap to BT. I've been able to pull off Super Glides with both. If you HATE Keychron there are plenty of other options like Nuphy and Lofree.
This company made a name for itself among '90s geeks, but back then, the field was uncharted, and every piece of junk seemed like a marvel. But today, junk is just junk, and this company keeps churning out nothing but junk! I can't understand how it hasn't disappeared from the market 20 years ago.
HAHA: "I don't like it when my keyboard makes sounds when I'm not typing on it." This is literal self-sabotage on part of Logitech. This is enough to make me never want to buy a Logitech keyboard ever again.
Would like to point out that the keyboard case is cheap trash that you can buy premade with customized logos for about 1000 buckaroonies for 100 pieces or there about. You essentially start with a flat sandwich that gets heat formed, to which then they either glue or use a shoe type sewing machine to sew on the zipper. The whole op is less than 5 minutes per case and can be done with stuff you have at home you so desire.
@@Shyvorix I agree on wooting performance but unfortunately non hot swappable keyboards are unusable to me because the only keyswicthes I find tolerable are Kailh pinks with jades on the larger keys. I grew up with IBM bucking springs so quiet / soft keytswitches are intolerable to me and even cherry and gateron tactile switches feel yucky. The kailh pink / jade is the closest mechanical switch I've found to a bucking spring.
I'm still waiting for companies to make a silent / broadcast keyboard. It's been twenty years since anyone last made one, they SAY they do, but they're bloody loud.
Appreciate the feed back on this one, as a Logitech fanboy I know to stay away from the ''Pro'' X 60, both my sons use G915 tkl's, and I have a G710+, Although I feel this thing is still here mainly for nostalgic reason 🤣🤣 great vid Hipyo
The g502 x plus lightspeed is my favorite mouse of all time, which of course it is because the g502 x and normal g502 were my favs b4 it. It makes playing games that require tons of keys like Destiny 2 SOOO much better. That infinite scroll wheel is great as well.
I returned my G502X Plus, absolute downgrade from the OG G 502 LS. Switches were awful sounding very hollow and the pinging was on another level, palm grippers will hate it because they didn't bother to taper the sharp angles where your palm sits and the scroll wheel is worse. On one hand, it is noticeably lighter I just bought another g502lightspeed instead. It'll last another 5 years, hopefully Logi will come back with something good by then. Been using their mice since G5 days.
The issue with a big company doing mechanical keyboards that are good enough for enthusiast is repair/replacement costs. The “standard” hot swap system is great, but it is something that is hard to “automate” to mass produce and they are prone to ma factoring errors where the socket is not 100% aligned and so they pop off when the user installs a switch….meaning they face a choice to either have a generous refund policy or to have angry customers. It just makes sense to try to come up with a “new and innovative” switch system. What I’m getting at…they just won’t be able to make something that is cheap enough to hit the “mass market” represented by people who want a good keyboard for gaming but has the quality expected by a keyboard enthusiast.
@@HipyoTechYeah, for example Polar65, drunkdeer a75 pro, and Boog75 are all hotswap and much better quality than this, along with hall effect switches which are infinitely better for gaming.
@@Tendeethose are all Chinese brands which probably pay their workers even less that Logitech pays their Chinese workers. So many of the rando Chinese keyboard brands are able to be very nimble in their home market and get good deals on parts. It's why when they make a key board everyone loves half the time it sells out and they never make it exactly the same way again.
I am looking forward to these keyboards when they eventually go on Sale. Back in 2022 I bought a G Pro Keyboard for $20 at target. Those normally go for $120, so I expect these to go on sale at some point for similar prices, because at $40, its probably worth it.
As someone who's worked at a company that has become more and more corporate over time, I can definitely say that big corporate companies have a really hard time meeting enthusiasts where they are. They can't really wrap their corporate mainstream brains and processes around super niche wants and needs because everything kind of has to fit into their top-down approval process. And a lot of the times, most of the people making the decisions are people who are focused more on numbers and their own personal preferences than what the target audience actually wants, which is sad.
Dude Logitech built up a great reputation for their mouse, they made the Superlight and every pro was using it, and instead of saying “alright team let’s stay competitive, let’s stay innovative, let’s reach out to esports pros and ask what they like about our products, what they don’t” instead they said “Big payday time boys, let’s release the cheapest pieces of garbage from 5 years ago and charge 2024 premium prices cause since pros use our nice everyone thinks we’re good and we can cash out on our reputation” I got bad news Logitech, everyone sees through your bullshit. Tragic that this company probably could have gone so far but has clearly given up to cash out on their reputation. Screw them
Thing is, most people don't know what a good keyboard is. They see 'mechanical' in the name and automatically assume it's just good. At most people understand the actuation distance and force and just rely on that spec sheet. In reality, a keyboard is much more than that, in fact, I'd argue that it's primarily NOT that.
Razer has some mice with the infinite scroll now too. Just thought I'd leave that here for anyone that wants options lol. (It's a little different not being on a bearing but using some fero fluid tech instead, but it feels and functions similar enough)
@@AbiPrasaddude the g915 has the best flat keys i have ever felt or seen, thats due to the thin switches they have and the body us full aluminum, the mechanics of it feel amazing thats honestly their only solid keyboard
I have in front of me a 60% mechanical keyboard, made with premium materials, replaceable optical switches, configurable layout, spare keycaps in the box c/w keycap puller, switch puller and spare switches. It's Bluetooth (three different devices) and USB C. The keycaps are double shot and high quality. Nice configurable RGB and also features customisable macro's etc via free app included. Switchable between Windows and macOS configurations (with corresponding keycaps, i.e 'Option' instead of 'Alt' etc) Oh and it was twenty quid on Amazon.
i would LOVE a video on your mouse! my partner has been looking for a new mouse and yours looks really awesome so i'd love to learn more about why you love it!
Honestly with the money Logitech has, I can't believe they haven't just straight up acquired a mechanical keyboard brand that people in the hobby already enjoy using and can be built to a higher standard.
As someone who bought the G910 tkl wireless - and loved it - having since then delved deeper into the custom keybaord era and areas - I have seen the glaring disparity on quality that logitech has taken. The rattley keycaps - when I got it i was placebo'd into it because of the price I was paying and the combo that I got. I have since moved on from it (which i feel really ashamed to admit because I did love the keyboard initially, the low profile keys, wireless that never failed and the layout and tactile style of it) and then - Ive found myself ive bought 4 boards since, a mix of custom and prebuilt with different styles etc (switches, build material etc) PS - wish I had kept my previous boards for your Boardwalk - traded them into my local cash converters cus i needed stuff to fund - oh well there go the Steelseries and Corsair keyboards I had laying around as 'spares' hehheh..ahhaah...hahaha...spares....keybaords...hahahah
What an impressive keyboard! Whenever i type on this keyboard, it creates a marvellous booming sound that makes people thought I'm carrying a machine gun, making them no longer wish to mess with me again. Great job done!
I've tried optical switches and currently use them on my daily driver (Hunstman Tournament Edition), but they took so much getting used to. Took me a few months to really get used to the actuation points especially since it actuates BEFORE the click... it doesn't have the same forced feedback as your standard set. However I think some of these companies are marketing optical as 'gamer' due to how highly sensitive they can end up being, and that is such a bad reason to give it the 'gamer' tag. It kind of makes the keyboard harder to really use (esp if you need to smash a key) until you get used to the very sensitive and rather high actuation point (it's way further up then you'd think so spamming the key like a normal switch does nothing as it thinks you've still depressed the key). I can only assume this has similar flaws, and pair that with the price tag and cheap materials? Yikes.... I think mine was closer to $80 at the time. I can see why everyone is calling it a scam. Logitech really messed up here. Not to mention proprietary switches for that cost? Insane.
I rest my left 5, 4, and 3 fingers on the side case when I'm typing or coding. I hover over ESC and ALT-TAB. Without resting on the side, hovering would wear the hand out quicker. I suppose it might be the same for navigating the game UI.
I have a Logitech keyboard+touchpad thingy that I'm pretty happy with. Not because it's good (it's not), but because it's super cheap, has amazing battery life, is nearly indestructible (since there's almost nothing inside), and there's literally nothing else on the market in its niche. But if I want to actually _type_ more than a couple words, I grab something else. The Logitech is only used for launching videos on the living room television.
Hypio, I beg you! Please review the AttackShark K85, it's a budget hall effect keyboard with a ton of "stock mods", this thing is insanely good, it frigging thocks! It has factory lubed switches and stabilizers, and there is very little stem wiggle(to me at least), and the best of all: the stabs, brooo the stabs are something else, no rattle, at all, this thing is solid! Specs: 80% ANSI layout(sadness for me that uses ISO derived layouts) PC plate Silicone Gaskets(superb performance btw) KNOB North facing RGB LEDs, big sad(specially because it uses double shot PBT with not shine-through) Please review it, it's great for the price!(best bang for buck I have seen) Love, bye!
I just gave them $225 for a G915 that came with a cheap cable, crappy instructions on a small square of toilet paper, and found out they removed the numlock indicator to replace it with a battery light so they could use the same boards as their wired counterparts. Then a day later, I find it on Amazon for $40 less -_-
Hippo, if you didn't know, logitech has many mice that feature the infinite scroll wheel(I too find this feature a must have) such as the MX master 3 and the MX anywhere 2 and/or 3 and the the non-gaming 502 and/or 501 mouse plus several others. Personally I love the same mouse you have in this video but my personal favorite is the MX master 3s or whatever the silent edition version is called. The mouse click is completely silent which i find really nice plus its a bonus to have in a work environment. I feel the only thing its missing is a small rgb accent added to it such as an underglow feature, that would be absolutely stunning imo.
I remember a couple years ago going into a best buy and seeing a hyperX 60% board that was all metal, had super smooth and solid feeling linear switches, and nice shine through keycaps with no hotspots. And it was $79.99....
As a hardcore gamer, I tend to agree with you that the benefit to the hall effect switches is a little bit exaggerated. I'm sure it helps but "this is basically cheating" is a little much.
I basically know nothing about keyboards, but at least i know that a clear key, is going to have a massive hot spot, just make it frosted and be done with it. Heck i got these keycaps for my logitech G610 called 'blue pudding' i had no idea what that meant but they look great on this keyboard, except most of the non letter/number keys wouldnt fit so i had a mix of blue keycaps with whilte fog bases, surrounded by black keycaps with terrible hot spots on the font. for things like enter, shift, alt and space.
Thanks for this video. I thought that looked cheap from the first time I saw it. Thanks for proving my hunch right! I gave up on Logitech when my 5, and 6 numpad lights died. Lost the color green. On my G815 keyboard. I contacted them about it, and they said that since it was out of warrenty there was nothing they could, or cared, to try to do. Since it was just 'buy a new keyboard or else' from them, I went and bought a Steelseries Apex 3 TKL, and love it. Wish you could review one of these too. =) I like your vids. I also dropped the logitech mouse, and got a razor. Still has the rgb I love.
"pinky gate" the fact the keyboard makes it horrible to not use your pinkyt, is a step in the right direction. You found the ONLY good thing about the keyboard is that it makes bad people have to learn to place their fingers right.
After becoming interested in keyboards and exposed more to the keyboard community, I realized how these gaming companies are ripping people off in broad daylight.
My dad had myme pick something for black friday last year for my birthday, and although I pucked the razer huntsman optical instead of analog, it's still very great* (besides the software on my 12 year old pc), the design was subtle with the name across the bottom, freely changeable lighting, binding and performance despite the awkward price, and the addition of swapping switches if I really wished. Logitech's board feels like a direct copy of analog board, but being nearly worse then one even I own. I think the main benefit of this would be how compact it is with the side wheels in addition to good lighting and maybe ok response times (though wired) or click feel, but still it feels like a dated keyboard releasing in the current era. My assumption is that they had ideas of releasing and 60% but forgot years ago and are just trying to compete with the better more sophisticated brands. I'm still convinced that they only knew what they were doing years ago when making stuff like the g502 and other peripherals back then. In fact their bigger older boards are prob cheaper and give better performance for the price.
The thing is a dust and bug Magnet just going by how much space under the keys there are for critters to get into. It should come with a membrane keyboard cover at least.
What do you mean there's nothing in the box aside for the keyboard, they filled the box with the premium air all tech companies put in with their minimalist products.
The sad thing is for the around same price you can get: Drunkdeer A75 (75% Hall Effect Rapid Trigger Hotswap) Steelseries Apex Pro Mini (60% Hall Effect Rapid Trigger) Razer Huntsman 75% (75% Optical Switch) Wooting 60HE Logitech should just really stick to mice when it comes to gaming stuff, they got that at least close to nailed down. Despite taking a while to implement USB C onto their flagship, hid 4k Polling until a year into the products lifecycle, and put probably the most horrendous PTFE skates I have ever felt onto a mouse.
One of the reasons ive stopped buying new logitech hardware is because of the unending bugs I kept running into with their current main software. I even had to dig up the newest version of their LGS software so my 502 lightspeed and g13 macropad would both be compatible. The quality of their keyboards have dropped substantially since 2016.
I had the low-tier Logitech mechanical keyboard, K845. It's a soldered board and it lasted about 8 months before the switch on the D key started to go bad. Imagine having to throw a mechanical keyboard in the trash after less than a year. I've literally never owned a keyboard that I got rid of because it's stopped working... And I still have keyboards which are 10+ years old. Btw, I also had to get rid of my original G502 because the right click went bad and wouldn't let me hold it down. The G502X fixed that though with optical switches, so that's what I've got now. Seriously though, everything from Logitech used to be TANKY. I still have a set of Logitech X-540 speakers which are 18 years old! and of course they still work like new. It sucks what's happened to the brand
As any performer on Only Friends knows: "It's all about having and using the right lube in the right amount, in the right places to ensure the best camera angles as your audience's fingers slide across the key caps" Right? The Pre-lube of the switches is a fan service!
question do you have review of Logitech G PRO X TKL keyboard. is it good maybe if it goes on sale? also question does razer optical switches are also proprietary or are replacable with other types of switches?
I could think twice at $19. Issue is Logitech does not have manufacturing with the class/style of custom kb, only mass produced keyboards that are used everywhere but Logitech wants to price their best effort where custom keyboards are.
Infinite scrollwheel is also a must-have for me. And it's fantastic on the Basilisk Pro 3, too. Razer is pretty much copying Logitech, but I think they've been doing a better job of the "premium" gamer tech lately.

My favorite part though is that it has a smart mode where the scroll wheel is clicky until you try to scroll extra fast and then it automatically switches to infinite scroll until you stop it or it loses momentum, then it goes back to clicky. So nice, especially for like video editing and scrolling through long pages.
The Logitech switches on and off infinite scroll the *exact* same way.
@@EtherealDoomed It has the smart scroll though? I know it has the button. I hadn't seen any other mouse had the smart scroll feature.

Man congrats to Hipyo for somehow managing to extend this colossal nothingburger into a 20 minute video.
For a company that makes my favorite mice it’s amazing that they can’t make at least a decent keyboard
thats why complete brand loyalty is dumb. some people feel the need to get every peripheral from one company, and they end up with probably half their stuff being overpriced junk and some stuff just overpriced for no reason but it has gaming or pro in its name.

Best Hipyo video of 2024 so far, this keyboard screams $40 amazon special.
Insane value if you ask me.
after watching this i would say if you are buying this you are probably a gamer , so i would suggest just get a wooting for that price point !
Same, I have plenty of customs, nothing games competitively like my 60he and as a huuuge plus you can actually customize it all the way, and wooting themselves teach you how to do most of it
Facts, purchased and returned my pro x 60 in favor of the wooting 60he+
Any feedback on Keychron? Its supposed to be a legit high end manufacturer but what I got seems scammy. Ill check out woote, thanks
I don't understand. Several other mice have this feature. Like my Razer Basilisk v3
First pro of this keyboard:
It's available in non american layouts.
It's got way better latency than Keychron's keyboards do
So there is a reason to get it over others, even over keychrons.

$180!? You could build two sick custom keyboards with this money.
You could get a wooting for that money
@b0mberr330 Yep. And in the world of gaming keyboards, Wooting reigns king with very few remotely close competitors.
You could buy a blank GMMK and a set of keyswitches and keycaps for less than that. Hell even a prebuilt GMMK costs $160 so what are they smoking?
@@Shyvorix I agree on wooting performance but unfortunately non hot swappable keyboards are unusable to me because the only keyswicthes I find tolerable are Kailh pinks with jades on the larger keys. I grew up with IBM bucking springs so quiet / soft keytswitches are intolerable to me and even cherry and gateron tactile switches feel yucky. The kailh pink / jade is the closest mechanical switch I've found to a bucking spring.
And those wouldn't be missing half the keys.

I returned my G502X Plus, absolute downgrade from the OG G 502 LS. The optical switches were chosen because it is a gaming keyboard, and when you put ms on your "gaming" thingy, everyone bites it
The issue with a big company doing mechanical keyboards that are good enough for enthusiast is repair/replacement costs.
That plays a role, but in reality they just want to maintain their obscene margins and play it safe with what has historically worked really well.
@@HipyoTechYeah, for example Polar65, drunkdeer a75 pro, and Boog75 are all hotswap and much better quality than this, along with hall effect switches which are infinitely better for gaming.

I have since moved on from it (which i feel really ashamed to admit because I did love the keyboard initially, the low profile keys, wireless that never failed and the layout and tactile style of it) and then - Ive found myself ive bought 4 boards since, a mix of custom and prebuilt with different styles etc (switches, build material etc)

What an impressive keyboard! Whenever i type on this keyboard, it creates a marvellous booming sound that makes people thought I'm carrying a machine gun, making them no longer wish to mess with me again. Great job done!
I kinda hate how logitech just slightly remakes its 2018 keyboard, makes it wireless and charges you a kidney for it.
Insane.
Throw in the rgb as it seems that's all you need for a 'gamer' keyboard.

If you are resting your pinky on the case and not on the shift key while gaming you are MENTAL (completely agree with the rest though)

I think the last time Logitech ever tried to innovate in any field was when Spartacus led a slave uprising against a Roman Empire.

"They say that it's terrible, but none of them have actually tried it." Isn't that just a normal day on Twitter?
I remember a couple years ago going into a best buy and seeing a hyperX 60% board that was all metal, had super smooth and solid feeling linear switches, and nice shine through keycaps with no hotspots.
And it was $79.99....
why did that kendrick lamar reference catch me off guard
Their mice are very well known for having crappy switches. They have a tendency to start do double clicking in a matter of months.
Didn't they replaced the CEO with someone who says they want people to buy subscriptions for their mouse? Yeah, that might answer your questions
"pinky gate" the fact the keyboard makes it horrible to not use your pinkyt, is a step in the right direction. You found the ONLY good thing about the keyboard is that it makes bad people have to learn to place their fingers right.
heres the thing pros dont care about aluminum or sound they just want low acuation force and responsiveness
They made a typo.
It was supposed to be only $18.00
They put the decimal point in the wrong area.
The sad thing is for the around same price you can get:
Drunkdeer A75 (75% Hall Effect Rapid Trigger Hotswap)
Steelseries Apex Pro Mini (60% Hall Effect Rapid Trigger)
Razer Huntsman 75% (75% Optical Switch)
Wooting 60HE
Logitech should just really stick to mice when it comes to gaming stuff, they got that at least close to nailed down. Despite taking a while to implement USB C onto their flagship, hid 4k Polling until a year into the products lifecycle, and put probably the most horrendous PTFE skates I have ever felt onto a mouse.
I've yet to discover how exactly a 60% keyboard can be NOT trash. And its not about the quality. Its about missing the freakin kays!
You set your expectations a little high when reviewing a $170 keyboard.
