Some advice from owning the Compass mic arm. It's sold as a combo deal with the Blue Yeti, but it's not really designed for it. The internal mechanism is literally a steel wire with no grease that holds the entire arm in place using friction against a piece of plastic. It's very prone to self combusting if you over tighten it, and there's no indication on how much you're supposed to tighten the mic arm. It's especially bad if you're constantly moving the mic vertically, hinging at the base. Mine lasted less than a year before the steel wire ate through the plastic, and it lost the ability to hold my mic up. It's a very aesthetically pleasing mic arm when it works, but the Blue Yeti with Boom arm at maximum extension is a bit too much for the arm to hold comfortably, unless they've majorly changed the design in the last 3 years. Even at the discounted price, the Compass is still substantially less sturdy than comparable mic arms like the Samson MBA38. The Compass is rated for half the weight of the Samson mic arm, and it shows. I'm not going to say "don't ever buy it", but if you're going to buy it, have a plan in place to avoid constantly moving the mic arm. Use the Compass for what it was intended for: Looking pretty and keeping your cables clean. If you want something that's durable enough to move from the middle of your desk to the edge every day without fail, look somewhere else.

I think the draw of Logitech is that people who don't know tons about computer stuff can buy a Logitech version and it will be solid. Not priced amazingly, not the best in the market, but solid performance at whatever you get it for. A fifty-something getting their first home office set up. A grandparent buying their grandchild stuff for gaming. It's not amazing but it's guaranteed to be at minimum serviceable and functional.

The Logitech PRO Wheel is not the upgrade of the G27 ! The current G29/G920/G923 is and it's around 300/350 $ !!
I love the bad overdubbing at 2:01 to correct Linus's misspoken price.
Honestly I wasnt really paying attention at that moment and didnt even notice the overdubbing
Better than the on screen corrections
Yes, a million times better than on screen corrections. I love it and I hope they keep doing that
I really liked when it was just Adam and Elijah. Kinda felt like two kids waiting in line at the supermarket for thier dad to come back. But at the same time they did great on this video and I would love to see more videos with them playing larger roles!
FYI, you can extend the speaker controller cords using 15-Pin HD15 D-Sub *data* cables (and 9-Pin DB9 D-Sub for the other one). Amphenol makes good ones.
Wow I just passively aggressively wrote the same thing. I thought Linus grew up with old displays and consoles... I'm honestly quite shocked he didn't notice it, hence the passive aggressiveness. I hope Dan tells them. I'm like 90% sure he'll know since he's hard core into older stuff that might use D-Sub connectors still.
Yeah, he held those up and I'm thinking "I've got a VGA and 9 pin Serial extension around here still, I bet." No idea how he didn't recognize them, or was he being intentionally obtuse?
@@sireuchre not VGA, 9-pin data, they aren't the same pinouts.
People on various forums I looked into when researching this before said VGA will not work.
@@sireuchrenow see it wasn't as simple as you thought lmao
Yeah. As annoyed as I would be to see speakers that don't just use standard speaker wire, it is really nice that they didn't use proprietary connectors.
I actually like team hosts and the wild Linus setup. There was a lot going on but it felt like I could keep up with it and it helped with my engagement of the video. Keep up the good work!
My favorite part about these videos is that it feels like you're hanging out with a bunch of friends and it's not work and it's just casual and it's fun.
Logitech pro wheel has actually very good feedback in the sim racing world. Its just not an easy buy in when logitech has made no announcements for swap-able wheels or anything which is huge for the price you are paying compared to other brands like Moza which I also use for that reason :)
Been using the mx master 3s for a few weeks now and i think this and the mx master lineup in general deserves a main channel video. the customisation you can do in the software is beyond anything and it changed my workflow so drastically
I really can’t get enough of the creative editing this team does with the bad overdubs and the snarky text. Not to mention the off camera comments. It’s great.
Now u should do an all RAZER setup
do a razer setup next
Been watching Linus for years and feel like I have to say, the company changes made in the last 6 or so months is absolutely showing from a viewers perspective that has been watching for years! I love how much more of the crew we are seeing be involved and getting to know them and their personalities! Wholesome group
Really love the chemistry between the three of you! Good job people!
6:30 If you want an extension for logitechs speaker wires, you CANNOT use a standard VGA cable, even though the pins are the same. You will need a 15-pin D-SUB extension cable. For the other one, a serial cable might just work fine (don't know, haven't tried)
I mean you can just DIY the cables as you can probably find these connects for sale. better than some company like Corsair...
I bought the connectors and build myself an extension cable. Workes great, but i would have still liked to just buy something off the shelf @@AaronShenghao
Some higher quality VGA cables have all of the wires inside them, but honestly it's 50/50 at this point.
@@AaronShenghao you'd probably end up spending more on a decent crimper for the dsub pins. And the backshell/pin block.
Or just dont get a bad speaker system from them and get a cheaper one that is better and uses actual speaker wires? *cough* z906 *cough*
When during the pandemic Home-Office hit i bought mouse, mousepad, Keyboard and headphone in the older versions from this setup, for.... Work. And i freaking love it
I think the draw of Logitech is that people who don't know tons about computer stuff can buy a Logitech version and it will be solid.
Not priced amazingly, not the best in the market, but solid performance at whatever you get it for.
A fifty-something getting their first home office set up. A grandparent buying their grandchild stuff for gaming.
It's not amazing but it's guaranteed to be at minimum serviceable and functional.
I will say, even though the Hermen Miller is an expensive AF chair, it is REALLY phenomenal. I bought one after working from home for a while, and my back pain has entirely gone away. If you can afford it, and you sit in a lot, it is ABSOLUTELY worth it.
A good chair is one of the things you should NOT skimp on.
Exact same experience. I had a Secret Labs gaming chair when confinement started and started having back pains on long work days followed by game nights. Got the black and blue Herman MillerXLogitech Embody. Pain is gone entirely. 100% worth the expense.
20:10 I can't believe you guys are using 10 year old sponsor spots, use can't keep jump scaring me with mid 20s Linus like that.
Don't know if this will be seen, but I think mentioning in the video something like "we'll show you and audio test in a few" then having each of the mics tested one right after the other would be less disruptive. However, I appreciate having them in there at all!
This is literally my setup: logitech mouse, logitech keyboard, logitech mouse pad, logitech speakers, logitech webcam, I even have a logitech wheel.
Just want to give a warning to anybody considering logitech powerplay + pro x superlight 2. you are not supposed to use the lightspeed receiver from the powerplay mat. it doesnt support 2000Hz wireless report rate! use the receiver which came with the superlight 2!
Elijah is a great dude! I like him in every video. Keep him, he is a gem!
6:04 Still using my Z-5500 speakers from forever ago and they still work perfectly. Bring quality back!
I have a set of these still! Granted I don't use them anymore, but I can still appreciate them :D
Same! Had them since 2009. About 4 years ago I scored a second set on Craigslist for $40, thinking it would be a backup if my main set ever died. Almost 15 years old and still kicking
Same with my Z-2300, though my controller broke so Im only using the sub atm. Got it working with a 2.1 Sound AMP with some hacking and soldering :P
I use mine for TV speakers at the moment...
Yeah, still loving my Z-906 system from 2011.

Of the dozens of Logitech products I’ve bought since 1989 my favourite is turning out to be the refurbished G910 keyboard I bought last year. Best keyboard ever.

the logitech suite of mice is really nice. I still use an MX Master 2 every day and the flow feature is nice as I'm frequently switching between devices and sometimes want to move things quickly between them. Also one of the most comfortable mice I've used
Still using a first gen MX Master and pretty sure I'm never not going to use them as my main mouse lol

I have a Logitech MX518 from 2005 that is still my daily driver! I have tried many since and none of them lasted more than a year, this old MX518 just doesn't give up.
Loved the mx518, had been my daily driver, then backup mouse for many years, but I tortured mine once too often, and not currently able to repair it, so got a g502 hero
I got mine from my Brother in around 2009, had to repair the cable in 2015. Still going strong.
I got the 518 remake for my office PC.
It's literally been with me for over half my life. Amazing stuff. The only other hardware that has been with me that long is my G15 keyboard. Had to do a membrane repair due to liquid spell, and there is a rip in the rubber under the e key, but hey.
Old Logitech stuff really was amazing.
I use logitech m330 silent mouse for 2 years and it is awesome! When you get used to it, regular mouse buttons comes loud and heawy. Logitech makes good products no doubt.

As a Logitech (LOGI) shareholder since 2016, I'm ecstatic by how much everything costs! 😀👍
However, as a 46-year-old gamer whose every peripheral is made by Logitech, I'm grateful for Best Buy's annual clearance sales. 😅
When does this clearance happen? Boxing day?
@@LLF1234 Weirdly enough, I've found the best deals on Logitech (and all technology, actually) in the time BETWEEN Black Friday and Christmas.
... except laptops. For some reason, the best laptop deals happen between the start of school (late-August/early-September) and Black Friday. 🤔
Its the Minecraft “Ohhuuuu” at 14:10 for me 😂
Noticed it too =P
I used to be a Logitech dude growing up, almost every peripheral was always Logitech. But recently I've grown to love Razer now, I don't even use any Logitech anymore surprising.
Steelseries next please! I love their keyboards and headsets.
The classic blue yeti is now a relic of the past, would love to see a test comparing the new logitech counterparts and the Blue ones
All Samsung gaming setup?
Yes
Ive had my powerplay mat for years now and i had NO IDEA I could use it as a receiver! Thanks LTT for freeing up one of my USB ports!
Elijah is such a good person to have these videos, brings the video back to the real world. 'Wow thats a lot of money'
Not that no one else does but Elijah's face says it all, Linus is usally in shock because hes paid for it
except hes not "usually in shock because hes paid for it" hes said on Wan show multiple times, having money doesnt make you lose your understanding of its value. yall seem to think that just cuz hes mildly successful hes constantly throwing money on hookers and blow or some shit.
brand loyalty only gets you so far, I have never used a Logitech headset I liked but my god their mice are amazing.
8:32 If your Bluetooth speaker have a volume button, Android OS has this thing called Absolute Bluetooth Volume enabled by default, which force you to only be able to control the volume of your android phone, and not one in the Bluetooth speaker no matter which button you press, and if your Bluetooth speaker reset its volume to say 50% after booting , it'll stay that way
Ah, I remember my Z5500 speakers SO well. That thing was *the shit* back in the day. Serious sub woofer power and was built like a proper sub too.

I've ended up with mostly Logitech mice for the past 20 years, no brand loyalty but they just always end up being the best value, comfort and functions for the money.
plus their customer support seems to be pretty good. bought a g pro x superlight on sale for a hundred bucks about 1.5 years ago (on a third party site) and the scroll wheel was dying. I loved the edit, "two hundred FORTY DOLLARS". Good effort, nearly seamless. Love the video!
That might have been a good idea 10 or more years ago. Very few tech channels take the time to make long term tests, and that's why there is so much broken stuff that people have to replace.
21:38 The last 4 seconds of the video are the best.. the "Hey Arnold" comparison caught me off guard. 😂

Warning about Logitech. Their support used to the best in the business, which is why I have spent thousands of dollars. Recently however... good luck opening a ticket. You have to talk their terrible AI.
i have all logitech gear and have had zero issues with anything ive ever had. ive only replaced things because ive wanted to. id say the prices are worth it, if you never want issues.
Never thought the day would come I see something I actually own in a LTT video, but I have the wired version of the keyboard and I LOVE it !! Being able to change the RGB effects for *individual games* is so much fun and even as a broke college student I don't regret buying it lmaooo
I love the synchronised twohundred "FOURTY" dollars 😂 thats perfect
I enjoy Logitech products since they are only brand that sell you stuff that just work. No software needed. You just plug it in and it works.
I am tired of especially mice that need software and constant updates that break the mice more. I went through any major brand of mice until I just bought simple Logitech G305 Recoil with no RGB, no dumb software necessary I just plugged it in and it works and that's all I need from PC mouse.
Tell that to their double clicking mice
ironically i get better software support for my periphs on linux than i do on windows.
As for my razer mouse, open razer exists, it works great, is very minimal, and most importantly doesnt need to be open or forcibly install itself (seriously what the fuck razer, why is your software an ACTUAL trojan.)
As for my corsair keyboard, i'm using CKB-next which is using none of my ram and basically none of my cpu. And again unlike icue gets out the way, and stays minimal (though in my experience icue isnt an actual trojan so thats cool at least?)
Not only brand at all in that regard, not even close + they need software to use all the functionality unlike many others.
As someone who bought a lot of logitech stuff....
After 1 year everything will break :p
Exactly! Their stuff don't last, it's a complete waste of money, I have stopped buying their products.
I love their G502 with the weights, and they’ve got a good line of keyboards and I like the Wonderboom speakers. That racing setup though? That’s a ton of money before you even get to the computer itself.
