Hey there! I see you're interested in PC building and optimizing your desktop setup. I recently came across the HOTO Compressed Air Capsule, which offers powerful vacuuming and blowing capabilities to keep your desk clean. It's compact, has washable filters, and even has a mode for cleaning keyboards. Worth checking out if you want to maintain a spotless environment. Happy tech-talking!
I’ve owned this keyboard for about 4 months now and it’s incredible. I program on it more than I game and it just makes me feel like a proper dork. Very satisfying to type on.

Switching to the Wooting and configuring it has literally felt like an entirely new experience. They have done such an incredible job for extreme nerds.
A word of warning: I would be very careful about plate replacement, the stock plate is stainless steel for a reason. It needs to be stiff so that the distance between the switches and the sensors on the PCB doesn't change
Bs. I‘ve been running a alu plate for over 6 months and had no issues with 0.1mm activation and 0.1mm rapid trigger. FR4 is very similar and should work as well. Brass is stiffer, no problem either. You just don’t know what you are talking about.
@@philipp594 all I said was that the plate needs to be stiff enough that it doesn’t mess with anything, I didn’t mean to imply that other plate materials don’t work.
@@benjaminhavens7266 I doubt it. The wooting has a very thick pcb and as long as the switches stay in contact with it there shouldn't be a problem. Wooting ran into problems, because they picked a too thin pcb before. Maybe I will run a super flexi plate at some point just to prove that.
Hey, have you heard of the HOTO Compressed Air Capsule? I can't wait until my keyboard from Barrett gets here! I ordered it in.... like december and I think it was projected to be ready in quarter 3 of 2023 and the longer I wait the more excited I get
i js got my wooting and it sounds nothing like that, it sounds like a silent switch. if he didnt like the sound of the switches, he couldve got the magnetoc jade switches
Nice wooting keyboards you both did a good job by modding them! Was really excited for the this modding video, I think you can tell by my appearances in the video :D
Hey there! If you're looking to optimize your desktop setup, I highly recommend checking out the HOTO Compressed Air Capsule. It's a compact device that offers both vacuuming and blowing capabilities, perfect for keeping your desk spotless. With its multiple tubes, high-quality filters, and powerful blowing, it's an efficient tool for keyboard cleaning and maintaining a clean environment. Plus, its versatile accessories make it handy for road trips and outdoor activities. Give it a try! 🚀
Honestly I think a lot of people in the niche keyboard modding scene try to achieve a very specific sound, which is usually something close to a smooth and silent keystroke with the only tactile and auditory feedback coming from the cap bottoming out, though there's a lot more to it than that. But it isn't really a better sound in any regard, it's more that getting that sound requires going through the insane amount of effort to get there which makes the end result feel more satisfying.
Great and funny video ❤ Idea for the next stock keyboard mod: Gluing a rubber sheet cutout to the bottom of the steel plate to dampen the sound and resonance. I did this on a Redragon plate and it was really tedious but the end result sounded great even with the stock Outemu switches (which I lubed). So it's definitely an option instead of switching out the plate.
im surprised there was no mention on how the stems stick together. my wooting is the first ever lube job i did and the stems sticking together made it a pain.
There is only 1 stem in a switch what do you mean they got stuck together? Is the lube so thick the stem is getting stuck in the rails of the switch housing?
you got me addicted to keyboards. currently have the keychron q1 with lubed milky yellow pros & tape mod already ordered a q60 retro lol, please tell me the BEST switches for this build. These milky yellows are super creamy, so I want something different for the second keyboard.
Quick question, is it bad to lube the lekker switches and stabilizers on the Wooting? Some guy that owns a mechanical keyboard shop said the additional lube will mess with the lube that it came with from the factory and will affect the lekker switches making them not perform. Is he right? Why would Wooting sell lube marketed towards it? Any advice would be much appreciated
Keycap profiles are a personal preference, for me. I find XDA a bit too flat and I end up fatfingering keys a bit compared to something more sculpted like OEM, Cherry or even SA

Btw replacing the plate is likely a bad idea, the switches have to be at the perfect position to the pcb for the actuations to be accurate
