I don't quite know why.. guess I was just being brand loyal for having an Asus mobo, GPU, and mouse... But it was because of you I got the original Azoth. And without question it is by far the best major PC brand keyboard I've ever used. I've swapped the switches just like you did.. but I really liked it. It was super over priced (I paid $250 cad which was it on sale!), but it featured almost everything I would have done to it. Minus the switches, which after some lube they felt and sounded decent! As you mentioned in your review today though, I absolutely hate armoury crate. It's messy and very very laggy at all times. But it also puts everything together for my computer, overclocking, RGB control, and peripheral control to name a few. One final thing, wow. I wish I had contacts to send you for music your voice is insane and I'm loving your music. Congrats on the release.
Why yes, we can all laugh at the price.... but like... I have to respect Asus at this point. They have seen Hipyo being extremely critical of their products, and they are still supporting him.
got the standard Azoth, did a tape and foam mod and improved gasket performance by loosening the screws. Excpet for armory crate its perfect. There is no reason I would upgrade to this one.
Its perfect, apart from software. For something much cheaper but still want asus, the strix scope ii 96 is better. Armoury crate works great, but you WILL have issues with aura sync
Thanks for the Review Dude. It definitely gave us a heads-up prior to Deciding if Buying it or Not. 😁I agree the PRICE is way to high. Considering the Premium Quality of this keyboard, I'd say the PRICE should be around $350 to $400. 😁👍👍
I'm only half way through this video at this moment but honestly I would pay this price just for a wireless RGB keyboard with no awful light bleed between the keys!
Man, once i heard that there was an azoth sequel coming out, I held off on buying the OG Azoth for it. But after seeing the price, I just can't justify getting it anymore Edit: Ended up getting a Kiiboom Breeze 75. It sounds heavenly 😍
That "Boot on startup" Issue you mentioned is literally my main gripe against GoG (which is saying a lot given how laggy GoG is). That reason alone is enough to make me avoid an Asus keyboard, even if it was amazing and super cheap.
Wooting 80HE is coming out in Q4 2024 and has 8000hz polling. In addition they're in an "arms race" with Razer to come up with new hall effect settings. See FPS (mostly CS) drama around Razer Snap Tap.
I really don't see the big issue on north-facing rgb. Yes it may have some interference, but it is minor and this keyboard is not exclusively made for custom keyboard enthusiasts. It is a gaming keyboard and north facing rgb is better for shine through. South facing can work for shine through, but they have to be incredibly bright or you need the right keycaps.
I don't think people realize that the 'right keycaps' for south-facing would be awkard as hell, because all the legends will need to shift to the bottom as well.
Armoury Crate messes with and conflicts with other RGB software like iCue or ASRock RGBLED. It does work along side of L-Connect, Steelseries and Roccat. For the ASUS keyboard of which I own the ASUS Scope NX TKL it is best to use Aura Creator to create your own lighting effects. I found using just the Armoury Crate to do this the colors are not as vivid. Just thought I'd mention this. Cheers!
Okay, i've watched a couple of your videos now and I noticed this instantly but really now I have to ask. Is this the guy from Oversimplified?! He sounds like him, he talks exactly like him, and the editing style is exactly the same!!! Somebody tell me im not just imaging things!
Putting the design on the inside of the keyboard reminds me of what designers do inside of microchips. Sometimes we will draw things in them, things only a designer at the company would even ever get to see, but they’re there. There may or may not be a microscopic little dinosaur in your electronics, and you’ll never ever get to see it unless you were employed by the company and got access to the archives of that design. Even then, you’d need to know where to zoom in and what layers to look at.
Did you etch anything offensive in a consumer product before? lol These are pre-built, but you can open them up to see, or change the amount of dampening (you can remove a layer to make it even softer).
I’m new to the custom keyboard scene, what high quality key cap company would be good with the azoth north faced leds that wouldn’t ruin the sound & feel of the snow switches
Asus please fix Armoury Crate! On top of what's mentioned in the video it would be nice for the rgb to automatically change to whichever Windows user is logged in (like every other software out there) and it would also be nice to be able to turn off all rgb when the keyboard is left plugged in (although this may just be relevant for the Strix Scope 2 96)
They won't fix it, it's Asus, I send them so many detailed reports and why this happens in past year that they simply started ignoring me. Of course I always received information that they don't see issue.
Thanks for your review. A lot of people I’m sure appreciate the craftsmanship and superior quality of this keyboard. However, some are irritated by the price. It’s not for everyone but HE are not superior in a lot of environments. Azoth extreme amazing to type on for both work/gaming.
I kinda like my (standard) Azoth. Only real problem I have with it, is that sometimes the spacebar double register keypress. Granted the keyboard I used before this, was a 5+ year old Razer board...
Please go from this expensive keyboard to to super cheap yet fully functional ak820 pro from epomaker x ajazz, then hipyo your task is to make it actually look nice
I actually bought the original Azoth in white with the clicky (Storm) switches after the last video about it and have been really happy with it. However I've basically given up on the screen, cause Armoury Crate has been giving me all kinds of issues. It's such a shame, really...
i bought a MageGee SKY 81 with purple switches and switched my caps to the Womier Pudding Keycaps and I love it and I literally only paid like 60 bucks. Its a 5 layer gasket mounted board. No way in hell am i paying $500 for a keyboard
Thanks for the detailed video man! Bottom line: if i don't care about the alluminium design and OLED screen does it really stands out from the already super priced Original Azoth? (with the NX Snow Switches) I mean, how much the Soft/Hard Gasket mode does make a difference to the typing feel/pressing sensitivity? Also i'm a lil bit concerned about linear switches in the first place since they tend to have a really sensitive actuation point..not sure about the NX Snow switches though...are they sensitive like a regular linear switches?

They have seen Hipyo being extremely critical of their products, and they are still supporting him.
yeah it shocks me every time they come back, but it shows they really do care to a certain extent
I don't care about a company known for shitty customer service taking a liking to a UA-camr. I care about price to performance ratio.
@@ThisisDD to be fair that's mostly their us branch I I deal with their Taiwan branch who work on the products themselves
got the standard Azoth, did a tape and foam mod and improved gasket performance by loosening the screws. Excpet for armory crate its perfect. There is no reason I would upgrade to this one.
Hey what's the big oversized keyboard and where can I get it?
I think it's the Redragon K605.
I love shine through keycaps, because I can see the letters in dim lit room
I LOVE wrist rests, screw your opinion.
How is, "I can't use a wrist rest because it physically hurts me" an opinion?
Wide wrist rest good! 4.25in is my preferred the usual 2.5in or 3.5in isn't enough!
500 for an ASUS is crazy even if it is the best ASUS
You should review the bridge75 keyboard, i’ve heard good things about it 😁
if the software was better i would buy this. I think it is beautiful in all black
I'm only half way through this video at this moment but honestly I would pay this price just for a wireless RGB keyboard with no awful light bleed between the keys!
now asus should make flare 3 with that lcd screen - would be the ultimate keyboard
10:50 bro ripped the stabilizer stem out of the housing lmao RIP
Man, once i heard that there was an azoth sequel coming out, I held off on buying the OG Azoth for it. But after seeing the price, I just can't justify getting it anymore
Edit: Ended up getting a Kiiboom Breeze 75. It sounds heavenly 😍
Asus's best switch is actually RX red, which is a optical switch. You should try it sometimes. (Althought that means you cannot escape their keycap)
THANK YOU!!!!
I don't think people realize that the 'right keycaps' for south-facing would be awkard as hell, because all the legends will need to shift to the bottom as well.
Very good balance review. ASUS Please note and make a full-size keyboard that looks as nice as the Azoth
Cheers!
Im ngl it would be dope if you could change the name on the weight
Literally the week after I bought my Azoth, they announced this x.x
You should check something on the other end of the price spectrum:) For example Endorfy Thock with blacks - would love to hear your opinion:)
Okay, i've watched a couple of your videos now and I noticed this instantly but really now I have to ask. Is this the guy from Oversimplified?! He sounds like him, he talks exactly like him, and the editing style is exactly the same!!! Somebody tell me im not just imaging things!
Just to say, from my experience armoury crate is actually pretty good, and your wanting aura creator for more in depth control of the ASUS Aura
If they did a full size version of this, I'd be VERY tempted...
Did you etch anything offensive in a consumer product before? lol
These are pre-built, but you can open them up to see, or change the amount of dampening (you can remove a layer to make it even softer).
This looks like a legit $250 keyboard. Maybe even the first one. And if it's ever on sale for 50% off, I'm interested.
North facing RGB is a must for a gaming keyboard IMO.
Love the original Azoth. Wish the screen was like the Mac Book Pro Touch Bar across the entire top then it would be worth the price.
I’m new to the custom keyboard scene, what high quality key cap company would be good with the azoth north faced leds that wouldn’t ruin the sound & feel of the snow switches
Asus Azoth video. Time to set up subs target for getting blue dyed hair? Great video as always. Thanks.
"any idea what these are"
Well they remind me conceptually of the 3 seashells from Demolition Man.
For that kinda money I expect to have the snap tap feature too!
Great review. I am also having the exact same keyboard errors with Armoury Crate on my Azoth and Z790 motherboard. Asus needs to fix this asap!!
They won't fix it, it's Asus, I send them so many detailed reports and why this happens in past year that they simply started ignoring me. Of course I always received information that they don't see issue.
I got it for half the price, i thought it was the regular price and still thought it was quite expensive
Thanks for your review.
A lot of people I’m sure appreciate the craftsmanship and superior quality of this keyboard. However, some are irritated by the price. It’s not for everyone but HE are not superior in a lot of environments. Azoth extreme amazing to type on for both work/gaming.
Love this videos, thanks a lot! Can I ask how to mod this keyboard? What keycaps and what switches make it even more premium?😮
I actually like textured keycaps. During long, intense gaming sessions, it’s nice to have keycaps that aren’t super slick.
I kinda like my (standard) Azoth. Only real problem I have with it, is that sometimes the spacebar double register keypress.
Granted the keyboard I used before this, was a 5+ year old Razer board...
It's not only spacebar, it can happen to all of the keys, of course issue is on software side...
Please go from this expensive keyboard to to super cheap yet fully functional ak820 pro from epomaker x ajazz, then hipyo your task is to make it actually look nice
6:57 First time I've ever heard Armory Crate referred to as "decent software."
for a real world example of where polling rates matter is literally any rhythm game ever it can make or break a keyboard when it comes to those games
$500 for a keyboard? Built for people with more bucks than brains, I guess.
Yo Hipyo, there are actually other keyboards that has 8k polling rate, like the varmillo victory keyboard, i have it, and its a game changer
I can preorder the wooting 80HE in the premium zinc alloy case and still have enough money leftover to buy a 60HE for the same price as this. WHAT.
Thanks for the detailed video man!
Bottom line: if i don't care about the alluminium design and OLED screen does it really stands out from the already super priced Original Azoth? (with the NX Snow Switches)
I mean, how much the Soft/Hard Gasket mode does make a difference to the typing feel/pressing sensitivity?
Also i'm a lil bit concerned about linear switches in the first place since they tend to have a really sensitive actuation point..not sure about the NX Snow switches though...are they sensitive like a regular linear switches?
Hey hipyo could you please check out the bridge75. It looks good and worthy of the budget king imo
The price is insane. I wonder if they will make that in the white/silver version too?
This would be a really good 200-250 dollar keyboard.
