@@bobbobson6290 lol, exactly. Really, though, what I meant is that it's a usual $90 keyboard with marketing and style that's so damn good on tiktok it allows it to sell for much higher than its value. 100 Thieves, at the end of the day, is a brand. It's marketing, through and through, and they're leveraging that to upcharge heavily on a a very standard keyboard. It's just very good marketing.
@@I-Am-No-One It's not about stopping marketing. Of course, if people buy and enjoy the keyboard, the company will (and should, from a business sense) continuing producing it. However, Hipyo is adamant about transparency and honesty in marketing messages. Marketers, well, typically not so much. The big marketing knocks on this keyboard: (a) it overpromises and underdelivers, and (b) it is priced in mid-to-high range for an entry-level keyboard, which is not a good value considering the far superior products available at a fraction of the cost (a Keychron C3 Pro, for example, retails for less than 1/3 of its MSRP)
It might be a bit outside your standard content, but a video about actuation force and simple real world comparisons to things we can easily experience (pressing the button on a TV remote is about 40g, that's comparable to a light switch) might be a very informative video, and help people to understand what they're looking for.

The keycaps are a dyslexic nightmare. Clear and easy to read letters are always what I go for in looking for keycaps. I occasionally look down to see what I'm typing. I'm never the best at it. I’m only mentioning this because he mentioned them in the video. Womier has a topographic design 65% that looks exactly like this if not better and I’m sure it performs better too.

Just got my womier s-k71 and it 's such an insane improvement compared to my ducky, switching the keycaps to xda profile really lowered the tone of the board though.
I'm not deep into the keyboard niche but I've tried a few different ones and personally have landed on using an RK84 75%. MSRP around $90 but eternally on sale for about $70 and currently $55 on Amazon at the time of writing. You get hotswappable, Bluetooth, 2.4G wireless, USB C, per-key RGB with customizable onboard presets, and probably more stuff I'm forgetting. Your choice of OEM switches, white or black body. To me it feels great, I'm using the OEM brown switches. I got it for around $60-70 on sale so I spent about $15-20 on a set of XDA profile key caps and to this day it's my favorite keyboard ever. All together less than one of these TikTok keyboards for what's probably a far better experience.

Friendly warning, Vaseline could somewhat deteriorate some kinds of plastics (I don't remember which ones though.) it usually 'melts' the part or warps it.
@@WhiskeyTapethat's something I was aware of when lubing the switches, but a lot of people mentioned that the effect is not very significant and takes a few years to take effect. I LOVE YOUR CAT SO MUCH. I browsed through your channel looking for a couple cat-focused videos and didn’t find them. I think you’re using your marketing degree to make people watch your every video with close attention trying to get glimpses of your cat.
The cheaper version reminds me of the Euro 50,00 kits I bought in 2020 when I got into this hobby. Given the many budged-friendly options available now (and wireless, at least), I think they're both overpriced
i think most people who don't know about keyboards first look at the design more then the actual keyboard (like switches, 60%, 75%... or just the beautiful keycaps) and the price, people sometimes get confused and think that 300$ is good, don't get me wrong its a good keyboard but i can find a better keyboards in 50$ and becuase of that many people get tricked buying bad and expensive keyboards like highground, and becuase of tiktok always blame tiktok ._.

I think you went a little hard on this. I feel like $188 is a decent price point for the aluminum board. If you compare that to the Keychron Q1 Pro at like $220 and consider the aesthetics and collab designs, I think that makes up the rest of the difference in quality. Most purist gamers would say you shouldn't play on wireless so that's not really a missing feature. For non-enthusiast brand (100 Thieves) I think they've done a pretty good job at upping the quality. If you're looking at gamer brands maybe the razor blackwidow is a better option, but they've also been doing this for a lot longer and have only recently started coming out with decent keyboards.
Anything from Qwertykeys blows this out of the water for 160 or less, shipping included. Saying 188 is a decent price given the last year of the keyboard hobby is WILD.
Respectfully I bought one cuss the AOT collab one looks so clean and the keyboard sounds decent. for those wondering I bought it at 95 USD I get it there's prolly better keyboards out there but I really like the design and I haven't bought a keyboard since 2018
I gotta say... Never tried it, nor any other highround keyboard, nor for that matter any fairly expensive 60% or above. Right now as a DD i am using an about 70$ 40%, and i have to say it sounds quite good (imo obviously). About the Highround keeb, i think for the sale pricepoint of as he said 87$, its def fair. The keycaps (especially on the black and white one) are gorgeous (even better without logos am i right?), the sound is nice and overall its a cool keyboab. For the regular price.... well, i think the price-quality goes down a little.
Here's what I'm looking for. Where to get it? Full-size keyboard I like typing in silence, with zero bounce/flex to the keyboard. Tactile. Hot-swap. Shine-through (white or RGB is fine) I checked QwertyKeys to customize material/colors, but I have no idea what will work best to achieve what I'm going for.
8:10 but Hipyo, enhanced doesn't *only* mean "make better", in this case they clearly just mean they made it make more of the sound it makes. Bad sound, amplified.
I haven't bought much of their base camp keyboards. But I did get their crystal clear line with the silent glaciers switches. (I think it's their own line cause I don't think I've seen other companies with this name.) The only other Higround keyboard I got was their Mewtwo Summit line. It looks nice, it feels nice, and I'm not a keyboard snob but more so an aesthetic snob so it works *for me*. But I swap back and forth between the Mewtwo and crystal clear ones as well as the Melgeek I one I got. Maybe I'm not looking in the right places but I thought for under 250 to have that custom-feel without doing the custom work is not a bad price at all. I could probably spend that same price on a fully custom keyboard but I suck when it comes to keyboard building on my own. I don't have that patience. And for me, if I can just pay out the labor then I will. And that's what I see when it comes to a prebuilt "custom" keyboard. And other companies I do look at that aren't as in the spotlight, they are going for 300+ and it's groupbuy and I have to still build it. For me, it's about convenience and getting near the same. I think if I were to get that completely custom feel as if I built a premium and had someone do it, I'm looking around 400 or more... That being said- the Higround softwares being different and unique to both their base and summit lines are annoying and an extra thing to have on my PC. ---- Though I never thought about Higround through their slogan. I like that they had a raised feel where many keyboards like the well-rated Nuphys on Amazon and such. But they just look too low for me, even with the flaps on the back.
im not a keyboard guy but maybe a different material thickness or material in general instead of the alluminum could improve the sound? it works for exhaust systems on cars where Steel, Stainless Steel, Nickel alloys, Titanium and Inconel all have different notes. also the way the metal is shaped? be it bent sheetmetal, forged or milled from a block if you're feeling fancy.
wooting 60he is my personal choice and i feel like this and the drunkdeer a75 are on par basically on the best gaming keyboard if your not trying to build one.
Hello Hipyo! I want to make an observation from someone who loves mechanical keyboards but doesn't have the insane distaste for North facing LEDs like you do: there are many of us who prefer it because shine through legends are important to our work. I honestly will never buy a board with South facing LEDs because I work in a dark room and I need shine through legends. There are many of us out there that prefer this, too bad the enthusiasts aren't catching on that we're a neglected part of the enthusiast market. To highlight this neglect, you can't find almost any lower set key legends that are shine through. There are side facing shine though, but those are awful. And yes, I understand that South facing pcbs support more key cap sets, but there are absolutely switches on the market now that fix this issue. So, the next time you say the North facing pcbs are cringe, remember that there are many abandoned enthusiasts out there that WANT North facing.
“If they’re spending more on a premium keyboard, they probably know how to touch type. They should just go with a pure topographical design” Me with a 300 dollar custom who can’t touch type:💀
i just got mine ordered it on amazon i dont have tiktok at all i got the keyboard and a 17x64in mouse pad for $125 imo its worth it but this is the first keyboard ive ever used that wasnt out of a 2010 public computer lab or a laptop keyboard so i dont have much to go off of. for 125 id say its definitely worth it
Maybe I am wrong, but I think the Cidoo V65 is a better keyboard. I followed Hipyo Tech's advice, and bought a Cidoo v75 pro. I must say that it is really nice, solid, although Via is not fully compatible. Higround keyboards cost a bit too much for what they offer.
say what you want about highground but their black keycaps on the womier sk71 on a black friday deal legit ended up being my end game board as far as sound and feel goes, somewhat clacky, marbly, and creamy, all for less than $150 and wireless

Respectfully I bought one cuss the AOT collab one looks so clean and the keyboard sounds decent. for those wondering I bought it at 95 USD I get it there's prolly better keyboards out there but I really like the design and I haven't bought a keyboard since 2018
Day 1 of asking Hipyo to review a keyboard from alt customs
I gotta say...
Never tried it, nor any other highround keyboard, nor for that matter any fairly expensive 60% or above. Right now as a DD i am using an about 70$ 40%, and i have to say it sounds quite good (imo obviously).
About the Highround keeb, i think for the sale pricepoint of as he said 87$, its def fair. The keycaps (especially on the black and white one) are gorgeous (even better without logos am i right?), the sound is nice and overall its a cool keyboab. For the regular price.... well, i think the price-quality goes down a little.
Hipyo, can you try out the Leobog Hi75? It's a budget 75% aluminum board that sounds nice. I'd like to know your opinions on it.
Here's what I'm looking for. Where to get it?
Full-size keyboard
I like typing in silence, with zero bounce/flex to the keyboard.
Tactile. Hot-swap.
Shine-through (white or RGB is fine)
I checked QwertyKeys to customize material/colors, but I have no idea what will work best to achieve what I'm going for.
8:10 but Hipyo, enhanced doesn't *only* mean "make better", in this case they clearly just mean they made it make more of the sound it makes. Bad sound, amplified.
FINALLY YOU MADE A VIDEO ON THIS
Love your villager minecraft empresion ❤❤ hipyo oooh yeahahah
----
Though I never thought about Higround through their slogan. I like that they had a raised feel where many keyboards like the well-rated Nuphys on Amazon and such. But they just look too low for me, even with the flaps on the back.
This keyboard sounds absolutely incredible. Only thing I would say is the price is a little hot
You should try the Epomaker x Aula F75
Ngl I'm kinda happy they're using dreamland switches cause I'm using the tactile ver 😂
dreamland tactile gang
Higround needs to hire Hipyo at this point
im not a keyboard guy but maybe a different material thickness or material in general instead of the alluminum could improve the sound? it works for exhaust systems on cars where Steel, Stainless Steel, Nickel alloys, Titanium and Inconel all have different notes. also the way the metal is shaped? be it bent sheetmetal, forged or milled from a block if you're feeling fancy.
If an influencer made something, and pushes it with social media shills then it's obviously not a quality product
wooting 60he is my personal choice and i feel like this and the drunkdeer a75 are on par basically on the best gaming keyboard if your not trying to build one.
I have found few other content creators testing clicks, clacks and thocks copying the idea with "Eeeehuuuuuuh" 😃 so you are a pioneer 😁
glarsses was the first one to do the "woo ooo oo yeah ah ah"
One thing i thank you is for your review of cidoo 75 bought it love it and its cheaper but sounds amazing ❤
The woohoo yeaeah 💀💀💀
Love your videos! Any keyboard recommendations for Macs?
They should just go with a pure topographical design”
Me with a 300 dollar custom who can’t touch type:💀
I’d highly encourage you to learn it
@@obsidianquill7949 I want to.
i love my base camp 65 snowstorm higround keyboard you should review it
when you have keyboards like the S-K71 for $89 and AL71 for $99 and rk m75 for $110 AND the rainy 75 for $99 when it becomes available LUL.
3:50 nice voice crack lmao but great video
i just got mine ordered it on amazon i dont have tiktok at all i got the keyboard and a 17x64in mouse pad for $125 imo its worth it but this is the first keyboard ive ever used that wasnt out of a 2010 public computer lab or a laptop keyboard so i dont have much to go off of. for 125 id say its definitely worth it
Ive been using a K2V2 since launch with the lotr dwarven rune keycaps, and I couldnt be happier. Please buy anything other than Highgrounds.
Oh boy my first new video as a new hipyo tech viewer
"Dreamland keycaps"? i think king Zøg wants his keycaps back
What’s a good alternative , out of the box options ?
Could you do a setup/room tour video?
Thoughts on the sk61 with optical yellow?
I love your videos and I bought so much keyboards because of you
Maybe I am wrong, but I think the Cidoo V65 is a better keyboard. I followed Hipyo Tech's advice, and bought a Cidoo v75 pro. I must say that it is really nice, solid, although Via is not fully compatible.
Higround keyboards cost a bit too much for what they offer.
Can you do a challenge where you try to make a keyboard sound as WORSE as possible - like if you want to see it
Can you talk about the redragon draconic keyboard? Its quite budget. Love ur videos btw
Bro is both a voice actor and a keyboard expert 💀😭
That's the price of a fully decked out qk100😢
I know nothing about keyboards but this makes me want to practice typing
say what you want about highground but their black keycaps on the womier sk71 on a black friday deal legit ended up being my end game board as far as sound and feel goes, somewhat clacky, marbly, and creamy, all for less than $150 and wireless
All of those tiktok videos are like " this is the best ever, it's got great RGB, it looks fantastics, I love the keycaps" none say anything about the actual keyboard. Those guys are making a killing off gullibility IMHO.
