It's an awesome reverb pedal. There's some pretty outlandish tones, loads of outlandish tones, synth sounds. Also classic tones. all sorts of other effects which you can isolate, flanger, delay. Crazy, fun and cool but used subtle, it's amazing reverb. Cool pedal. It's one of those pedal if you have no stomp boxes at all, you could buy this and get so much. It's almost a multi effects pedal. You can't go wrong. You could probably say the same for the Canyon Delay.
This guys reviews are a breath and of fresh air ,I need a decent reverb to go with my DSL combo as the reverb is way too thin for myself but I’m not sure if this is the pedal.
Is that an mxr tap temp foot switch as the external?? I just got the oceans 11 and I'm wondering if the foot switch has to be something specific or if just any type of tap tempo foot switch will work
@@andywray2170 you need to get a normally open footswitch, I went with the saturnworks footswitch on reverb and accidentally got the normally closed one and didn't work but then ordered the normally open switch and it activated correctly, I don't know what this whole normally open/normally closed thing means but if you go the route I did with the saturnworks footswitch be sure to send a message with the purchase asking for a normally open switch
Beautiful pedal, but the only way I'll ever get that pedal is with a version that has presets. In a live situation it's just not practical. There is no way I'm bending down to change each setting for each particular song. I'll spend half the time on the floor. Deluxe version and you will have my money.
YellowLabradorWithMotorcycle true but the alignment is only slightly off on one setting . My only gripe with it is it can sound a bit bright or harsh . I’ve only owned it for about two weeks and I decided .
I am not sure if I just got a dud but my Oceans 11 was noisy. With the buffer engaged, the hiss was always there. In true bypass mode the pedal was silent but once engaged, the hiss was there.
I had the HOF2 and, besides a more than decent shimmer mode, it has all those standard reverbs, none of them are tweakable via the pedal itself. I also didn't care about the MASH nor about the Toneprint.
My simple spring reverb one-trick pedal just may be on the way out the door. That shimmer effect was hard to gauge... sounded distorted to me. Taking your word that it sounds interesting.
Ivor Thomas He switched to the distorted channel of the amp. Could that be what you're hearing? This is my first shimmering reverb but I think it sounds sweet and smooth.

Beautiful Version of Amazing Grace, kudos John.
I agree
It's da CATOLIC coming outta him ta be shoor!
I had an Italian mother. There's no running from it.
Mamma mia, wronga da Catolici!
Thank you John.
A pleasure like every time!
...and i love the Oceans 11 too!
Not to forget the fabulous drip for surfy sounds!
Holy shit, that was Bohemian Rhapsody at 8:02 lol, nice man
Great video and pedal makes inversions feel like playing on piano with the sustain and resonance game changer for me
Bolinger! Oceans eleven has tap!!
Does it really? I just got mine, so I'm still learning the ropes.
but only for delay, why not for the trem tempo too?
You've really got some great chops, John.
Might be able to cover "Are You Experienced" with that reverse effect. :)
The "Shimmer" reminds me of Daniel Lanois.
Wild.
Great emotive playing by John.
that Amazing Grace sounds so sweet, reminiscent of Kraig Kenning's version
I needed some Amazing Grace today. Thanks.

Awesome review I just picked one up used also the speakers couldn’t handle the shimmer
I have the Multiswitch from Strymon. Does it work as a infinite pedal for the Oceans 11?
Can I damage the pedal if I connect them together?
can you do full recording of that "Amazing Grace" and release it as an mp3? Do it via Premier guitar! Magazine download code or something.
How did you connect the infiniti foot switch to the pedal? Did you use a normal guitar cable or a two ring cable?
i’m almost positive the ocean’s 11 does actually have a tap tempo for the echo mode (and maybe other modes?)
It does have tap tempo for the echo mode, but idk about any others
@@ethanbaker685 according to the Oceans 11 manual: “the quarter-note echo delay can be set with tap tempo”
Literally just got it used for a hundred and change, going straight to my main board.
Great video! Did you notice any tone loss or digitalisation of the dry signal with the pedal engaged or in the bypass mode?
Nice John!
Is that an mxr tap temp foot switch as the external?? I just got the oceans 11 and I'm wondering if the foot switch has to be something specific or if just any type of tap tempo foot switch will work
I have this same question, did you ever find that out?

I see too many Ocean’s 11 vids that just show off the spring surf reverb, honestly that’s my least favorite sound. This pedal does sooo much more....
because spring on this pedal really stands out, while other modes are just ok

Do you really need a different reverb on every song?
Oceans 12
What does plugging into infinite do? I haven't seen people plug into it in reviews.
Blue Ocean lol and Spaceeee man lol.....telling ya some them older digital delays were so niceeeee.
The infinite mode works with any footswitch?
The knock on this pedal I've heard, is that the knobs don't align perfectly with the settings and that it's hard to see.

@@jarrod9052 Did you keep it?
JCBigCat no it was not for me , it was cool and had a lot to offer but I was looking for a more lush reverb

Mine is causing a horrible hiss on or off.
Anyone tried this vs a Hall of Fame 2?

I wish i could get mine to sound like this. It sounds nothing fucking like it, not even close using the same settings.

halffulltome thanks... i checked, and this box is a little pricey, but my board also needs an echo. Can this pedal do 'verb and echo at the same time?
Ivor Thomas yup
Vibramate Spoiler.
How to sound as close to J Spaceman as possible for under $1000 usd:
*MIM tele or strat+blues jr+this pedal+cables, strap & pick*
Jon bollinger is jesus
I love you
After watching the R.R. of Derek Trucks I suddenly realized that Bohlinger dyes his hair. Question is...why doesn't this surprise me?
He used to...we convinced him the gray was the way to go! Silver fox!!
@@premierguitar I guess one can get a little self conscious at times when being as immature as is! 😆
Not a great pedal honestly. Worth exploring other options. Kind of a Jack of all trades master of none.
Too much talking. Boring.
2-3 minutes of talking in an 11 minute video.. yeah he really went overboard.
