- I bought an Oceans 11 Reverb from Electro Harmonix and decided to film our first time together. MAN this is a crazy pedal. Drip for surf hall for ambience. I am very impressed so far!
I cracked open the box and attempted to get some cool sounds. Did I succeed or did I just suck? Sink or swim

Have to admit, I like this style of demo. No pre-playing of the pedal or planning, but out of the box experience- it shows a genuine first time users experience with a pedal this "complicated" it's all well and good finding out the best settings for each type and condensing it into a 5 minute video, but I found this to be more inspiring and representative of how easy or hard different people may find this pedal - thanks a lot!

I have it. Not having played around with the pedal for too much but I like the Hall, Plate, Trem and (surprisingly) Shimmer. I play mostly with gain so I’m experimenting. Which setting do think works best with gain and delay?
I think that plate works very well and the hall too

The spring setting is the absolute best feature on that pedal

TheGuitarGeek I saw another video on this pedal and i think they are like secret settings. For the spring, you could change the tube drive and you could change the length of the springs. Just saying in case you didn’t know that.

Great idea mate. The pups are bog standard 498 and 490. They have been well abused and are slightly microphonic. The honey boy is also doing a great job

Before anyone says anything about the warranty. I have sent one back. Like 4 years ago. Never heard a peep. ? I don’t have time in my life to chase down 65 bucks or whatever it cost
Well that's as much on you as it is Ehx dude. You can't complain about losing money if you're not willing to chase it down
When I came up, EHX- was the only game in town,and as such,got much love.These days, however, they've been completely eclipsed by the competition, with only a few offerings that aren't entirely obsolete.I see this, the Canyon, Ravish Sitar, and maybe the Pitch Fork as viable contenders; sound quality a little better than TC, not quite up to Keeley, which has long offered similar.It will be on my board, next to the EQD,MXR,JHS, and ZVEX.I wish them all the best on future designs.
Great video! Did you notice any tone loss or digitalisation of the dry signal with the pedal engaged or in the bypass mode?

Switch inside to toggle buffered/ bypass? Anyway you skipped the reverse setting :o
No, it sets tails on or off. There is no true bypass on this pedal, it's all buffered.

Man that is great sounding pedal (at least to my ears) to bad E.H. Is not at the top of it's game with quality control, that being said I'd probably take a shot with one, I am not a huge pedal guy so it would not get to much abuse. did you ever do a video of the Harley Benton p.r.s copy? Your channel seems to improve with every video you post Andy, great job with your channel so far. are you going to be selling T-shirts ever?

I so want to trust ehx pedals. But unfortunately in my experience they flat break a lot and cost me. Maybe they will change idk

I finally watched it all the way through and it seems like you didn’t like the pedal due to its complexity. I have it and like the flexibility.
Hi Alexander. I like the sounds but you're right, I found it a bit annoying that I had to learn everything and dials did things other than what was labelled.
TheGuitarGeek it’s not that hard to dial in a sound. It was fun to experiment and didn’t have to read the manual.

That's REALLY tough
Oceans 11 in my opinion but that’s because you can’t get good surf drip out of the Hall of Fame. Where as with the EHX you really get the drip. But it definitely depends on your style of playing.

Electro harmonic is hit and miss at the customers expense This is my experience
I would suggest learning how a pedal works before making a review video.
