    Oh boy do i love when people review/demo a reverb pedal, on a amp with the internal reverb engaged. Oh boy oh boy...

      I love that the only major advantage of this over the oceans 11 is that it is stereo... and he plays it in mono throughout.

      Nice playing, but yeah , make another in stereo and really blow us away with your sweet style. I loved the destructive ending sounds. I’m enjoying this pedal much and I’m sure it will work wonders with my other ehx pedals and my tube pedals & amps! You play well dude, but a stereo demo is a must on top of this cool mono review.

    It's pedals like this that have me seriously questioning all of the 'boutique' pedal pricing. With everything that's packed into this, and with how great it sounds - add the memory function, and expression pedal capability, how on earth can ANY company justify charging the same price for 15% of the features, or double for still less, but with an abstract claim that they sound better? With a blind test, who out there thinks they could clearly tell the difference between an Ocean's 12, and a Big Sky?

    I have one on its way...psyched. Here's another tip from what's I've seen, in Spring mode one can double click and get a reverb thumb/kick, like we would in a true spring. That's details and so freaking clever. This pedal is huge in scope, so looking forward to it.
    The one question I have, and I'll find out on my own when it gets here, is should I run it through the front or via send/return in the back? Understand though it's going through a tube driven Marshall Superlead riding it's power section tubes for gain. I do know it's generally good form if one is going to use return/send on an amp to run all time-based effect that way, and wahs and ODs and the like through the front. That's understood. Question is: what to do with that in the case of an overdriven-tube 100watt Marshall while getting the benefits of this pedal but not losing that OD tune from the power section?
    From what I've heard and seen so far is that it takes an overdrive pedal really well in front of it, me getting that overdriven sound from the tubes means that this will always be in front of the overdriven signal. Appreciate anyone's take and experience they have on this if any is had. Either way though, I'll find out soon, just looking to trim time and prepping planning for it. Pedals and gear make Covid almost bearable...gives me a great excuse to just bury myself in the studio. Ain't gonna lie, I love that part of it.

      @2010njdevil 3 роки тому

      Congrats as I've had my eye on it since before it came out but this seems like the best quality and options for the price. What, if any, other reverbs pedals were you thinking about if you did not purchase the Oceans12?

    • @bbbro34
      @bbbro34 3 роки тому +2

      I had several on my radar, but kept coming back to this one, as it's pretty much the only one other than maybe an Eventide that had two reverbs in one; and they can be linked together either via serial or parallel, which is great. Parallel would be them both blending together, and you can control that blend, and serial would be where you have one coming before or after the other. This is done with the "Functions" knob and secondary settings.
      I was also considering the Oceans 11. Keeley's Aurora was in there too as was the Walrus Slo; Walrus just released a new one which sounds nice, but almost twice the price of this one and it's a singular reverb, so this one has twice the reverbs and things like a spring kick; Oceans 12 is a better deal I think on many fronts. It's a great pedal, really well thought out with no detail spared. Sounds great. Can get very ambient sounds as well as some great surf style drip on it, does that really, really well. I am very happy I got it. Really like it. I would recommend reading the manual to get a good grip on it and what it can do, it's vast, but once you're familiar with it it becomes pretty instinctive. It's great, no regrets with it, it's a keeper.

    • @2010njdevil
      @2010njdevil 3 роки тому +2

      @@bbbro34 Thanks for the feedback and additional information on tone.....of course the manual is important as I have seen a major complaints from reverb pedals whose manual has to be downloaded. I saw some real quality stereo reverbs and then with the tonal/option range as the Oceans12 has, only the Eventide can compare. Even if the Eventide was better in quality, the cost difference is too great IMO.....plus the feedback I get on the Oceans12 is fantastic. I also think it is great because it has usable/gigging value to what it provides vs. many other pedals that are cool but sound like they are more designed for a special effects audio group to be used in a movie. My budget is tight so I think if I pull the trigger on any pedal in the next few weeks, it will be the Oceans12. Thanks again and have fun with it!

      I dont have the 12 i have the 11 but they’re close enough that i feel like i can input here; i use mine after a tube screamer in front of my amp and it does really good ambient shoegazy style stuff. Like using the auto infinite to get distant yet massive reverb tails or a very faint spring reverb with the gain cranked up. Im sure its awesome in the loop but my amp doesnt have one
