During my time covering the best horror movies of the decades, I didn’t cover a few years in the 2000s

Scream 4 is so underrated imo surprised it didn’t get an honorable mention for 2011

Seriously though, Scream 4 is so underrated. Just wait and see, more and more people will come to appreciate it soon. It's better than 5 and 6 as well.

Oh I know a lot of people dig it. Sadly, I’ve just really fallen out of love with it in recent years. But I absolutely understand why so many love it

How in the hell, did I not know there was a remake to Fright Night AND a prequel to The Thing?! Fuck I really gotta get with it 😂

    I'm confused. Shouldn't this say 2010s?

I actually hoped you would do this video lmao!
    My favorites from these years
2010 - Beyond the black rainbow, You really need to watch this one if you haven't already. Made by the same person who made Mandy and when I watched this movie for the first time it immediately became one of my favorite movies of all time.
2011 - Hobo with a shotgun. Also one that immediately became one of favorite movies ever, VERY brutal but it also has a lot of heart. Love the style and it is just hilarious and so much fun
2012 - Lords of salem. Really like this one and how it is so different from rob zombies other movies, never seen maniac but you made me interested
2013 - Evil Dead, no need to explain. My second favorite Evil Dead movie too, the ending is one of the best endings to a movie that I've ever seen

I honestly hate this era of horror and think most of the movies from it are super mid. But I think the early 2010s in pop culture in general weren’t great. Of my “favorites” for each of the years listed, REC 3 is the only one I actually love.
    2010: Insidious
2011: The Cabin in the Woods
    2012: REC 3: Genesis
    2013: The Conjuring

    2013: Texas Chainsaw

Love The Cabin in the Woods. But I should tell you it’s technically a 2010 film that was released in April of 2012 not 2011 🤣 but it’s good no matter what year it was released

Definitely thought cabin in the woods was gonna trash because of the trailer too.

2010: Insidious (This is my Exorcist/The Conjuring. This movie scared tf out of me as a teenager)
2011: Scre4m (This is the best Scream film after the first two films, Jill’s reveal is the best and the most shocking reveal, commentary’s way ahead of its time, and definitely the goriest of the franchise so far)
2012: The Woman in Black (Severely underrated and pretty scary)
2013: Evil Dead (Tied with Evil Dead 2 as the best Evil Dead film)

I haven't seen the Innkeepers. I should though. I haven't seen Pirahna, Cabin in the woods (I know everyone else has and I need to get on that) and The Last Exorcism. I really love The Crazies, the remake of Fright Night because of what you said, and the prequel of The Thing I thought was great. Of course, the Paranormal Activities will always be some of my comfort movies when I'm not in the mood for gore. Sinister scared the shit outta me btw the 1st time I saw it. VHS is a good one. Ok ok I'll watch Mainiac 😏All the rest of the ones you talked about I've seen. Yes Evil Dead 2013 is so freakin good. In your words if you haven't seen that WHAT ARE YOU DOING?? lol

I was going for my BA in 2013, so I woke a broke college student. No car, so i had to take 2 buses to a theater deep in the city to see anything, I hated it. But the day I saw Evil Dead was awesome. I saw that and Dredd that night and loved both so much. And I missed my bus and got a ride from someone I barely knew who I would go on to date for several years. It was a big day that means a lot to me still.

Let the Right One In is a tough one for me because it’s not a love story between two kids. Like Claudia from Interview with the Vampire and Esther from Orphan, Eli is very much an adult, but still in her adolescence body.

Literally watching You’re Next right now. Can’t believe it came out in 2011, seems like only five years ago. Been doing The Thing prequel and Carpenter’s The Thing back to back. Rewatched Cabin in the Woods like five times last week. It’s got a lot going on. It’s like a horror version of Not Another Teen Movie. The Evil Dead before last too. Can’t get behind Dark Skies and I like getting behind. The Angela Bettis Carrie remake was far better, FAR BETTER.
