This video has me thinking about how I wish Exorcist II: The Heretic wasn’t so damn bad. Even if it was halfway decent that would make the first 3 Exorcist films one of the greatest horror trilogies ever. Good video and interesting list Nick.
Evil dead is definitely my favorite. All are so tonally different which makes for a unique watch for each of them. Picking my fave out of them is like picking between your kids
There are quite a few trilogies that I love, including many you have mentioned. I agree with you on the greatness of the Romero Dead trilogy, the Evil Dead trilogy, Alien trilogy, the 4 Tony Perkins Psycho films (awesome movies!), and the first three Saw films (the only Saw films that exist as far as I’m concerned). If I’m picking my favorite trilogies, of course I’m going to go to the Universal Monster catalog first. I love the Boris Karloff Frankenstein trilogy: Frankenstein, The Bride of Frankenstein, and Son of Frankenstein. I love the Creature from the Black Lagoon trilogy. Then, there is arguable the very first ever slasher movie franchise: the Lon Chaney Jr. Mummy trilogy: The Mummy’s Tomb, The Mummy’s Ghost, and The Mummy’s Curse. I love the Friday the 13th Tommy Jarvis trilogy, the Elm Street Nancy trilogy, the Halloween thorn trilogy, the first three Children of the Corn films, the Candyman trilogy, the original three Sleepaway Camp films, the first three Terminator films, and the Dark Knight trilogy.
I literally just watched Psycho for the first time and absolutely loved it and immediately jumped into the Bates Motel series. And Dawn Of The Dead is my favorite horror film of ALL time 🧟♂️
The Saw trilogy is so underrated and under-appreciated. It's the only horror trilogy where I watched all the movies in the cinema, all on opening weekend. Remember, if it's Halloween, it must be Saw! Part III in particular was the most brutal, grotesque and downright icky/dirty in a great way. The rack trap is still one of my favorite traps/scenes in any horror movie.
I will never forget my husband and I about to fall off the couch shocked over the end of the original Saw. I don't think I've ever seen a twist that good before. The X trilogy is definitely up there for me as well.
My Top 5 Horror Trilogies: 1. Scream - Scream 2 - Scream 3 2. Halloween (2018) - Halloween Kills - Halloween Ends 3. X - Pearl - MaXXXine 4. The Conjuring - The Conjuring 2 - The Conjuring 3 5. Saw - Saw II - Saw III - imo Saw II is the best of the three Honorable mentions: Halloween - Halloween II - Halloween H20 A Quiet Place - A Quiet Place: Part II - A Quiet Place: Day One Insidious - Insidious: Chapter 2 - Insidious: The Red Door
Awesome video Nick hope you're well my awesome friend . I'm going with the first 3 Saw films as the best horror trilogy with Child's Play 1,2, 3 be a close second .
I agree with you Nick. Night of the Living Dead. Dawn of the Dead are good. I don't like zombies that much. Saw is a good one. I'm a movie nut. I like your list. I'm new to your channel. I'm already loving it.
I've never seen the The Living Dead or the Psycho trilogy. Here's my top 5 horror trilogies. But I can't count the franchises that have more than 3 movies. It doesn't feel right to me. Not judging your methods. If it feels right to you, I can dig it. 5. Maniac Cop 4.Basket Case 3.Re-Animator 2.Slumber Party Massacre 1.X/Pearl/Maxxxine
5. ANOES 1-3 (or even 1,2,4) 4. Halloween (OG) 1-2, H2O 3. Saw 1-3 2. Evil Dead 1-3 1. Friday the 13th 2-4 Honourable mentions Alien 1-3, Conjuring 1-3, Final Destination 1-3. Maybe a bit controversial with H20, Friday 2-4… also still think there is a place for Saw X too! I liked your list too but I’m a sucker for 80’s horror 😂
Dude I told myself I was going to mention Poltergeist in the comments, and then you go ahead and mention Poltergeist within seconds of the video. A guilty pleasure of mine is the Re-Animator trilogy.
I agree with the Saw Trilogy! They could have just left it alone after 3 and I would have been more than happy, bc the rest of the movies I can live without.
1. How was 'Alien' never even on my radar when I was trying to figure out what #1 was gonna be? 2. How many different trilogies does does the Halloween series encompass? At a minimum you've got: The Carpenter Trilogy: Halloween I-III The H20 Trilogy: Halloween I, II and VII The Salt Lake Trilogy: Halloween 4, 5 and 6 And, of course, the David Gordon Green Trilogy I think I, II and 4 could also form a trilogy of sorts (if Danielle Harris ever DID come back, I could totally see them skipping Halloween 5 and bringing Rachel back as well.) Don't know what to call it, though. 3. Other honorable mentions: Scream 1-3 (I think Scream 3 is unfairly maligned) The Cunningham Trilogy (Friday I-III) The Tommy Jarvis Trilogy (Friday IV-VI) The OG Child's Play Trilogy The '...In Space' Trilogy (Hellraiser IV, Leprechaun IV, Jason X)
Great list and its hard to argue with any of the franchises you included. My personal top 5 has to be Psycho, SAW, Alien, TCM, and REC I really wanted to include The Exorcist Trilogy but part 2 is such a piece of crap that knocks it out Honorable mentions as they are thematic trilogies: John Carpenters Apocalypse Trilogy and The Vengence Trilogy, The Cornetto Trilogy
A nightmare on elm Street could ve been the greatest horror trilogy but they had to me money hungry with a meaningless sequel nightmare 4 the dream master
MaXXXine was a dumb movie. With that said, here's my top 5 trilogies in no particular order: - Alien trilogy (I love Resurrection too) - Child's Play trilogy - The Living Dead trilogy - The first 3 Scream movies - Hannibal trilogy

I agree. Psycho franchise is CRIMINALLY slept on.
@@cayvzcult it’s just a crime at this point. People only talk about the OG, but the series is sooooooo good
