Damn, it's been fifteen years already!? Initially, I wasn't a fan of this movie, but over time, I've gained a better appreciation of it. I’m not saying that I agree with everything that's in the movie, but I appreciate it for trying something different.
Its robs masterpiece. Its aging perfectly too. I love that the new fans love it too. Its a beast of a film. Realistic, and it terrorize's the nerves. ZOMBIE IS A GENIUS. People need to wake the duck up
Great tip on keeping movie ticket stubs in your movie case. I have them in a box that I never open so putting them in the movie case would be a cool reminder of the theater experience
H2 was the first movie I actually seen twice in a theater. Loved it and I've always thought it was way better than Rob's H1. Great tribute to this movie Nick
Man I couldn't agree with you more! On everything you said. Great video! 🔥 I loved rz Halloween 2, it is in fact my top favorite Halloween movie of all time. The fact that this one was so special, makes me appreciate it even more! Always gonna defend this one🤘🔥🖤
I’ve never been in love with this movie the way you have been but I’ve always appreciated it for all that it tried to do. I loved seeing your long standing passion for it! It makes me more hyped to rewatch it with the rest of the franchise soon!
I’m with you. I’m 41. I saw both H1 07 and H2 09 in theatres. I’ve always been a astronomical remake/reboot fan. I get shit all the time. I think what your saying about people’s expectations holds truth but I personally think most are scared to be honest about liking something others don’t. It’s a fitting in thing I think. I’ve learned the horror scene is pretty toxic. With that said I loved both Zombies Halloween movies. Whenever someone trashes H2 09 about Sherry and the white horse I remind them they are a fan of Friday The 13th and the early F13th movies were. I different than the “sherry moon and the white horse” scenario. What I mean is all the PAMELA VOORHEES scenes where shes appearing and talking to Jason! Absolutely no different than Michael’s mom taking to Michael and appearing etc. meanwhile everyone loves F13th! So whenever I bring that up they usually don’t reply lol. Anyways awesome video, great taste and I collect all my stubs too!
And the funny thing is, they’ll actually use F13 as their argument AGAINST this movie. Saying it’s “ripping that off”. Just absurd. Most arguments against this movie, on the merits, are baseless. Period
I was on that rob zombie Halloween 2 train from the get go, it’s my 2nd fave Halloween film. Now everything the new Halloween trilogy failed to stick the landing is where Rz Halloween 2 succeeds, we get Myers and Laurie given a realistic take, we get PTSD done to a T perfectly where Lee Curtis fails twice to do this, we get consequences from the actions bracket and Loomis choose which sees grave consequences for both characters, and the best part for me is the mask has an importance to Myers himself. But themes in this film that doesn’t take anything away from any of the characters and their screen time, it’s the perfect balance showcasing Myers, Laurie, Annie, Bracket and Loomis, they are the pillars of this film that keep this films structure from collapsing, that’s why all these characters are well written and have evolved from the events of H1 and it makes total sense, if any of these characters are sidelined the film fails, and that’s how this film is so well written. But they give us the most brutal and savage myers to keep the fans happy, this is the first myers since 1978 where he’s literally the shape, a shadow and almost the grim reaper of death in that hooded jacket he is death, around this brutality is characters taken in very bold directions including Myers himself that makes this film to this day the most bold and fresh Halloween film since Halloween 3, there isn’t another Halloween film that is deeper emotionally than rob zombies Halloween 2 I was hoping for more Loomis and Bracket teaming up, that’s only thing when I saw the film at the time I was bummed out, but I got over that change and came to enjoy a new take on dr Loomis instead of same old crazy Loomis haha
i've always been a fan of all of Rob's movies. Robs halloween 1 is probably my favorite Myers movie. never understood all the hate that those movies got. Rob's mind is twisted and i love it.
I have a kinda funny story about the day I saw H2. So I was around 16 at the time and my friends (who were also horror fans and Seniors) decided to go to the crappy, small theater in town instead of going to the megaplex in the next town over. This really added to the atmosphere that night. But the bad part was, they carded at this theater, to my surprise, since the other theater was so random with that. My friends were gearing up for college so they were fine, but I was obviously too young so I ended up buying a ticket to Ponyo the Miyuzaki film and just snuck into H2. We all loved it. I still remember my friend leaning over and saying "you enjoying Ponyo?" 😂 I still have that ticket stub.
Nice memory you shared. I'm the same way when it comes to horror and it goes back to my childhood. My family loved movies, especially horror and every weekend since I was about 8, we'd be renting movies and my parents allowed me to rent any horror movies I wanted , my dad would sometimes help me pick the best ones so horror, Halloween and anything spooky, I love still to this day. Michael Myers was always my favorite slasher, Jason too but I never been a Freddy fan. I do prefer older horror 60s, 70s, 80s but then you get newer films like THE STRANGERS, LAST HOUSE.. which I loved.
Great video man. I never liked the RZ Halloween films until the past year. Now, I kinda dig 'em. I still have my Scream (1996) tickets stubs for opening night, second week, and third in my bluray case. I remember those nights so vividly. My favorite movie ever. And it's been nearly 3 decades! Lol that blows my mind man
When I first saw Rob Zombie’s Halloween II, I hated it it. I have warmed up to it a little bit since. It will never be my favorite, but I’ve watched it recently and enjoyed the overall brutal rage that this movie brings to the table. This is a brutal brutal movie.
I saw Robs Halloween in the cinema and at the time I didn’t really rate it, but I liked the back story. I grew to like it over time. Because of that I didn’t bother watching this in the cinema! What an idiot, as I pretty much loved it from the get go. I had not seen zombies other movies and it was my introduction. I was obsessed with its vicious grittiness. I loved that it was a realistic look at trauma, and scouts performance is fantastic. It’s one of my favourites in the whole franchise, probably top 3 to be honest. I never get bored of it, and I love seeing other people talk about it who appreciate it !
As a diehard halloween series fan, this was the first one i made the decision to NOT watch any tv spots or trailers.. while it was difficult to do, man was it worth it.. not knowing what was coming or where the story was going was an incredible experience.. ive since then, continued this tradition for halloween series. Imagine 2018 restroom teeth scene with no clue it was coming.. thats how that was.. i encourage you all to try this... take care.
I HATED H2 when i saw it in the theater. Fortunately, I had a ticket to Final Destination 4 right after...which I liked much more. Over the years I've softened my stance on H2. I think it has its problems...but it also has some of the most iconic scenes in the franchise (the hospital opening to name one). The most unforgivable thing Zombie did was what he did to Laurie. Annie went through worse and she sufffered PTSD, but wasn't an ungrateful B. The white horse was also nothing more than an excuse for Rob to get SMZ another IMDB credit. With that said, I rate it middle of the pack now. Maybe 6/7 out of the 13 films. Appreciate you putting up the good fight for a movie you love. "Ends" is in my top 3 Halloween movies...and that usually goes over as well as a fart in a crowded elevator. Happy September!
I dig RZ movie's as far as his Halloween movie's, preferably the Theatrical version's for both...plus the soundtrack CD's are awesomeness man... great video man
This was amazing video im such a die hard fan of Halloween 2 i remember going on the message board as well the memories Rob H2 is in my top five favorite Halloween films i say number 3 for me Halloween 6 Season of the witch H2 Halloween ends Halloween 5
Awesome Rob Zombie's Halloween 2 tribute video Nick hope you're well my awesome friend . I like the original theatrical version over the director's cut .
This video reminds of my love for Seed Of Chucky! I have VERY vocally and passionately defended this film since DAY ONE! It was a film that was way ahead of it's time and it's time people need to accept it for what it is! When it comes to keeping ticket stubs,I do have mine and my parents ticket stubs from when we saw Halloween Kills, which is in my opinion, the best of the Blumhouse Trilogy!
I saw this in the theater as well. Not the same one as you, but laughs and groaning was me. Zombie H2, Kills, and Resurrection the hat trick of Halloween movies I loathe. That’s awesome you keep your tickets. I had dozens of ticket stubs and wrist bands from sporting events and concerts. Eventually it was just clutter and I tossed them. I regret not making a collage and framing it. We’re on the cusp of September which means my countdown to October begins. Looking forward to your videos.
This movie was a roller coaster ride for me. Times I loved it. Times I detested it. But I have watched it a few times and overall I think it has some excellent performances, especially Bard Dourif and Danielle Harris. The movie deviated from the original movies, which was a plus for it. The point of a remake/restart is to go off in a new direction and enjoy something different with characters you like. RZ is a unique director. I like the movies of his that I’ve seen. Will he win any Academy awards? Probably not. But neither has Carpenter, Craven, or many others. But if he makes good movies, then enjoy them. If he makes a bomb, then let him know. His Halloween movies I enjoyed and I do watch them now & again.
If there's one thing I've learned over the past fifteen years -- if you ever want to liven up a conversation, drop Halloween II in there and things will go from 0 to 100 real quick. Damn near everybody has a really strong opinion about this one. Love it or hate it, horror fans should at least respect it. Instead of farting out yet another safe and predictable movie, Rob Zombie went full tilt and produced one of the greatest slasher movies ever made.
I can give my thoughts on rob zombie's halloween 2 but can say that in general I love memory lane clips like this. why you wanted to see the movie. likes or dislikes. Every now and then I think about movies that are from my childhood.
The director’s cut has the better pacing and better editing but I would have to give the slight edge to the theatrical cut because of the way it ended. My only issue with RZH2 is the studio interference, it’s a shame because this film could’ve been great as the first 20 minutes. I wouldn’t mind seeing a “Dexter” style T.V. series that picks up after the events of Rob Zombie’s Halloween II (2008) (the theatrical cut) and it centers around Laurie Strode from Rob Zombie’s Halloween (2007) and Rob Zombie’s Halloween II (2009) played by Scout Taylor Compton.
There are a few behind the scenes videos on youtube. I'd post a link here but you can't post links in comments. Just search for "zombie's Halloween 2 behind the scenes"
I'll take the theatrical cut of RZ H2 all day over the DGG films. Now, if someone walked out of the theater after discovering the fist 15 minutes were a dream, I get it. You can roll with it or not. But even accounting for it's flaws I think its in my top five that include Michael Myers.

As much as I can’t believe it’s been 15 years I still think this movie sucks, but you know what dude I haven’t really been open about sharing this but I will give the movie this I do think that the beginning of the movie is solid not great but solid and I’m sorry but I feel like if RZ would have just made the movie exactly like the beginning of the movie with Laurie in the hospital and Michael chasing her around. Because I have to admit, Rob Zombie did do a good job with setting up certain shots and certain camera angles and the cinematography looked pretty good even though I don’t like the 12 unnecessary over the top stabbings on Octavia Spencer I get that it’s to showcase the rage that Michael is letting out but it just feels forced and unnecessary and it just feels like overkill and I don’t like that he grunts. Michael does not grunt. I’m sorry dude. And honestly, instead of the whole sequence, just being a dream, it would’ve been so much better if Laurie did end up actually escaping, and then you do the time jump to a year or two years later, depending on which version of the movie you watch. I’m just curious to know if you ever saw the coal edits version of this movie like it is a way better version of Rob Zombie Halloween II what he did was, he fixed most of the flaws in the film and got rid of all of the stupid shit that everybody hated about the movie he got rid of the white horse he got rid of the whole It was a dream sequence and he actually made the movie feel much more cohesive and make more sense.

Rob Zombie’s Halloween II will have a following, despite the initial hate. It is like Elm Street 2, Halloween III, and Jason Goes to Hell.

I do too! I hope you’re doing well, Rick!
It’s funny that you do that with your ticket. I have my ticket to Friday the 13th (2009) inside of my His Name Was Jason DVD. 😂
I was on the OHMB back in the day.

Happy birthday to my first Halloween theatrical experience
Too bad the Compton girl who played Strode didn’t become a big star like Curtis, afterwards. She was good in those movies especially the second film.
I prefer the theatrical version, the unrated cut is unwatchable
