Jimmy intentionally mispronouncing "pedantry" to annoy pedants is my favorite gag, He does it so smoothly.
How do you know he isn't doing it out of ignorance/misinformation? I mean, that could also explain why it occurs "smoothly": he simply doesn't know any better and thinks he is pronouncing it correctly, and thus has no reason to have some sort of "it's just a joke" type of reaction when he says it.
It’s not intentional, he pronounces it like that because he’s more familiar with the word “pedantic” than the word “pedantic”. Jimmy himself has explained this in a previous show.

The real problem now, other than the Trump threat, is the Supreme Court. Increase the size and limit terms. And impeach Alito & Thomas.
I was writing that US students only spend 5.5 hrs/day, 180 days/year in a classroom, and the rest of the time with family/community. Then I started to think how the teachers are limited to the curriculum approved by the school board.
This reminded me that we vote for half a million offices in the US, and those local offices, such as school board, can have a much more immediate impact on our lives.
It often takes very few votes to flip those local seats. Local politics can really change how people in a region live.
I'm grateful to live in a place that, while far from perfect, at least does some things I agree with. When I vote, I remember that I'm never voting for just the president in a general election.

If you're not from the US, you may not be aware, for example, that the minimum wage in the US varies from 7.25 to 16.28 on a state basis. And since cities and municipalities can also adopt mw laws, Tukwila, WA leads the entire US in minimum wage at 20.29/hour. In states that are mostly "red", tipped staff can be paid as little as 2.13/hr.
Some municipalities have laws requiring business to at least give a couple sick days to employees. Insufficient, imo, but more than other places.
You may also not be aware that educational policies are set primarily at the state and local level. The federal government has little input into public education K-12. It is essentially limited to data collection and offsetting poverty through federal initiatives. So, in some areas, a teacher at the top of the local pay scale earns over 100K, meanwhile in other states, that same teacher gets about half. Some states give public tax dollars to religious schools, others don't.
Some states now require the posting of the ten commandments....

You do know of the attempt being made over the last few years, where each state votes to change their elector policy to where all that state's electors will vote for the winner of the popular vote? This won't go into effect until enough states had passed this rule total enough to win the electoral college. They are roughly half-way there.

I'd say two reasons: The first being MAGA is utterly dishonest and hypocritical, so of course they'll claim that about Biden and not Trump.
The other reason is most of mainstream media is driven by money and not objectivity, or sometimes even truth.

Biden has done a ton of good things, like loan forgiveness, the PACT act, made a deal with Microsoft that created jobs, invested in clean energy, which not only is better for the environment and creates jobs, but also saves people money on energy, etc.

With the Bryan call: even if other animals didn’t display these seemingly unique to human characteristics, which as Forrest has said they aren’t just unique to humans, it still wouldn’t mean that Evolution is false and definitely wouldn’t be evidence for a god. You don’t get to incredulously credit a being with no evidence except claims and stories for uniquely human characteristics if we don’t know something. We don’t know exactly how life emerged on Earth, though there are great hypotheses out there, but just because we don’t know that quite yet, doesn’t mean a god did it. We could use the same argument against you even more justly than your argument for the explanation of seemingly unique human characteristics being “unknown,” (which it’s not unknown) saying, “Since there’s no indication of evidence of a creator or designer, therefore, there’s no designer or creator. We SHOULDN’T use that argument because science doesn’t work that way, however. Being open to evidence is the best way to learn new things.

I'm making less than I was before Covid and my food bill is much higher. also the last I checked the mean income for an employed person in the United States is 75% higher than the median income... that means the people at the top are making way way more money skewing the average and driving inflation making it even harder for lower income people to live. Plus you need almost double the median income to be able to afford a median house in the US.
Listening to these two discuss Joe Biden and politics is a clear example of why being informed and rational in one area doesn't mean that you are in others. It was cringeworthy. 🤯

I disagree with your plan for a coalition government.
I propose making all political 'parties' illegal, and doubling down on that by forcing all elections to be run using only money allocated to the registered participants by the budgets of the districts they're running in. Everyone running for an office gets the same amount of money. If they use even a penny of their own money or any other funding, they spend a decade in jail AND must refund their entire allowance to the state. If even a single penny of their allowance is used on something that isn't a legitimate campaign expense, they must pay back the state everything they were allotted AND spend a decade in jail. And not soft jails either, put them to work in a place like Angola or ADX Florence. Follow that up by making 'lobbying' legally synonymous with bribery, so the laws will match reality a little better, and you're done.
I also think there should be an age limit and that nobody over 55 should be allowed to hold any public office at all. (I could make a cogent argument for why the 'dystopian' society of the movie 'Logan's Run' is actually utopian and a goal to strive for, but I'll save that for another rant)
But yeah, right there you've removed money from politics, cut corruption off at the knees, and fixed about a third of the problems in american politics.
