As a trans man I'm very thankful for allies to our community who fight and get down and dirty for us. It especially helps when you get angry and protective in our defense. Cause nothing makes me sadder than when a trans person is trying to defend themselves and gets emotional and then they get ridiculed and passed over because they dared show emotion over their own livelihood. I’d actually have a modicum of respect for Chuck if he (sorry, *attack*) said “I acknowledge that the consensus in the fields of biology and social science stand against my worldview, but my feelings outweigh scientific evidence in how I perceive this issue AND I was intentionally transphobic in my response to my pronouns”. The genuine dislike route: Think first about how you might go sassing someone as a “get back” for a sh!tty thing they said (think someone promoting a geno-cide) and them being upset by your words may cause you some relief or mild joy. From what I get, trolls can feel this way just from someone existing in a way they merely don’t like. They already see said person as low in respectability as we might see someone who is randomly murderous. Then there’s also the more masochistic route: they like to be genuinely disliked, so will start random fights to get that anger reaction on a genuine level. These are at least what I can gather about the situation

I know trans women that have been abandoned by their family . . . after their transition. Not just society, but their family. So, suggesting that they are reacting only to their internal disordered mindset is absurd. People don't live in a vacuum. As a trans woman, I want to thank you so much. I am so glad there are people like you two out there standing up for us! I was extremely depressed, never went out, never had friends, and was very obese. I was also very transphobic myself. Once, I learned to accept myself for me my world improved immensely and so many of my problems just went away and I am happier than ever. The only time I am depressed is when people are treating me like shit in person, online, or on the government level. With Project 2025, if I am ever forced to de-transition, I will be either fleeing the country or will be killing myself as I would rather die as my true self and on my own terms rather than be forced to be someone I am not by people who don't know me.
Just so you know. Staying alive & being happy in spite of their hatred is the best way to piss them off.

When people claim their pronouns are “something not a pronoun” I assume their grasp of the English language is reflective of their understanding of trans issues.
I'm not sure when, but transgenderism got lumped together with a bunch of people who weirdly "identify" as things outside the gender-discussions, like some people being like "I really feel like a wolf."
Though this might be somewhat self-brought because slogans that often float around trans/queer communities are stuff like "don't have others tell you who you can be" and other identity-affirming statements that should be more often acknowledged as exaggeration. You absolutely should listen to others on how you should be sometimes, what you identify with and what others think are just neither objective facts.

This is so fun to watch because I have had three conversations like this that changed my mind. One was in about 2018 when a very male presenting person went by she/her and I was like "That is odd, looking as you do I don't think I could not default to male pronouns"
They said it was fine as long as I tried. So I looked into it more and recalled I went by feminine pronouns but it was bestowed upon me kind of as a joke not out of malice I just called myself Mom to a group of friends.

My greatest frustrations in life are manifest in trying to reason with people who:
1. incessantly lie, making excuses for refusing to entertain facts, realities, and ethical ideals they don’t like.
2. blame their victims for the pain, suffering, and hardships they inflict on them.
3. cannot distinguish between reality and imagination, confidently pretending to know a reality they cannot possibly know.
4. vilify, hate, ostracize, harm, and shun others who are different only because they are different.
5. insist they are divinely entitled to forcibly micromanage the lives of others.
