    Harri , I really love your reactions !
    Have been a Zeppelin fan since they first started .
    They are not a studio band by any means , they are at their very best live . They improvise and never perform a song the same way twice , yet they are very much in tune with each other. They feel the music and the emotions , they have always put their body and soul into each performance.
    Hoping you will continue go down the rabbit hole that is Led Zeppelin. They do not have a bad song and are extremely versatile .

    I enjoy your commentary on Jimmy. He really does have this - almost frantic nature during a solo where he goes off and then he's right where he needs to be. It's probably one of the reasons he's my favorite guitarist - it's about the feel and emotion and he delivers it every time.

    The complexity of Zeppelin to this day astounds me still, 30 years after uncovering this wonderful gem through the sands of fate. Under certain conditions they are a portal for energies/entities to access this reality, make their presence known. And this is a calculated, or as Jimmy would say, a mapped out plan. They are also time travellers, the subtlety and understanding of past history is just too known and expressed to be a fluke or imaginary writing, hence the Viking connection, which to my mind is true. To have the ability to put these things into music, to bring forth ancient energy expressed thru music and to also make it a form of art, there is no one like them. They are either Godsent or Devilsent, pick your poison.
    Edit: by the way I see you getting the usual requests which are also great but to go off the beaten track a bit with Zeppelin is pretty great too, Bron Yr Aur or Ten Years Gone are a couple that spring to mind. Jimmy Page has a very insightful understanding of the way the human mind and it's mechanics work, to a point where you cannot have those kind of insights and also have the ability to put them into music, and still be a normal human being.

    Isn't it nice to hear a crisp guitar solo from the early 70's with clarity. And NO autotune available. I was 10 in 1973 and this was the kind of music that modelled my life's direction. Needless to say, the word Disco never was part of my vocabulary. I'm almost retired now ith mu own Ludwig Drums and various flavours of guitars. Happy days.

    I absolutely loved how you described Jimmy Page - "he needs to be investigated" and "How does he have the audacity to go to the places he goes." I've seen Page live twice, and I agree - he does need to be investigated! There are many more than 20 Zep songs that need to be heard. Basically everything they ever did.

  • @w.geoffreyspaulding6588
    @w.geoffreyspaulding6588 3 роки тому +2

    Helene here: I hope you continue to feel better, Harry. Some like to accuse Page of being a “sloppy” player because he is not technically perfect when playing live. But to most people familiar with his music, the passion, the creativity of his famous improvisations, and his sheer guts (as you say audacity) to actually take those risks onstage, to push the boundaries......is what puts him in the guitar god status. But that can also be said of Robert Plant and the rest of the band: they refused to play a song exactly in the same way each night, as boredom and repetition was their greatest fear. Each was massively creative, and what kept them going was their mutual respect for one another and musicians, their true affection for one another, and above all else their all-consuming love of the music. Off-stage behavior might be the stuff of legend (some of it’s true, some not) but on-stage they took the music seriously. And it shows.

    • @chrisalan3307
      @chrisalan3307 3 роки тому

      he is without a doubt extremely sloppy, it usually works out and gives his playing an edge, I think heartbreaker is the only track they did where he'd consistently sound bad on account of his technical limitations

    • @Childofbhaal
      @Childofbhaal 3 роки тому +1

      I used to be one of those guys who said Page is sloppy he’s nowhere near the greatest. Then I started playing guitar and realized it’s about the MUSIC. Musician first, guitarist second. And Jimmy Page wrote some of the finest music ever recorded!
