Trash Bash Space Cruiser (188) made by upcycling plastic containers

On the bench today is a pile of plastic junk, Dollar Store trash, harvested electronic parts and random 3D resin printed bits that got printed but never used. In a radical departure from my regular diecast customs, I build my first trash bash space cruiser. I’ve enjoyed watching these types of videos on UA-cam and thought I’d give it a try for a change of pace for me and for you, my viewers too. You’re watching me harvest parts, and figuring out how to glue things together and paint and weather a realistic looking spacecraft.

I'm really impressed Andrew, for a first timer this looks fantastic. You are a natural.
Thank you very much, Tina! First time but certainly not the last time. Thanks for catching the premiere. 🍁👍
Nice work, I really like watching scratch build videos, the ship turned great.
Cheers from South Australia.
i’m so excited for this to come out in 2 days
I'm glad you're looking forward to seeing it. I hope you'll enjoy the build. 🍁
@@MapleLeafCustoms definitely worth the wait, amazing job dude!
Very nice bos ,have a great weekend bos
Thanks Susilo, you too! 🍁
Outstanding job as always Andrew!!! U never disappoint!!
Thanks, Godfather! 🍁👊
This is something very special, very creative, and a good use of rubbish.
Welldone that man ,all the best Martin 👌
Thanks, Martin. First try at such a project. I like the model building part of it all. Great fun! 🍁👍
Wow ..... that is all..... ok i lied... man what a creative build... you killed it
Thanks, Dan. Kinda like Gaslands stuff. Can't really go wrong if I glue this bit here... 🍁😀
Phenomenal!! Wow! This should totally be in a Star Wars movie!!!
Thanks, Leo. George Lucas hasn't left any messages on my phone yet, but if he calls I'll let you know! 🍁😂😂🚀
Very nice build I would love to see this in the next Star Wars movie that's how good this is and I'm calling from sunny Florida God bless brother
I'll let you know if George Lucas calls! 😂 Greetings to Florida from Switzerland. 🍁👊
this was absolutely epic Andrew, took me back to my childhood, when I would do this with my dad's left over model pieces and all kinds of junk. I had a blast watching you enjoy the process. Thank you !!
Hi, Bruce. Same with me, doing this as a kid. Nostalgia is the hook that got me going in the whole hobby thing as an old guy! Great memories. Take care and be well, my friend. 🍁👊🚀
the imagination that qent into this is off the chart. wicked build Andrew
Thanks, Neil. I found it to be quite relaxing and enjoyable. And definitely a good workout for he imagination! 🍁👍🚀
Looks fantastic Andrew very imaginative really enjoyed this episode something a bit different it was cool👍👍
Glad you enjoyed it, Michael. I certainly had fun putting it together over a couple of weeks. 🍁👊
Wow. It turned out great. Looks cool, and like å real spacecraft. Job well done.
Thanks, Morten. I'm not a real sci-fi guy but this sure was fun for a change of pace! 🍁
Looking at the outcome, I'd never guess what you started with. Out of this world! 🤩
P.s. One man's junk is Andrew's treasure
That's the fun part of it, Adam. Each added bit makes a little difference. 🍁👍🚀
Andrew, what an AWESOME build. Love it! Cathy from Florida
Thanks a bunch, Cathy. I'm thinking of doing more down the road. It was lots of fun. Glad you enjoyed it too. 🍁👍
Words alone cannot convey how awesome this thing looks! 👍👍
Thanks for the high praise. I appreciate it! 🍁☕️👍
nice build details and great imagination 👍👍
Thank you very much, Joe! Yes, good exercise for the creative part of the brain! 🍁👍
That is the most beautiful random assortment of garbage I have ever seen. This is the kind of stuff I wanna make I might try some hot wheels stuff once I can work on a smaller scale. you should be really proud of your work, I can’t wait to see more videos like this😊
Thanks, Aidan. In my opinion this is much easier than a Hot Wheels job. Those 1/64 cars are so small to get all the little details just right on. This is a much larger canvas and flying with no blueprint to begin with was the best part. Junk bits and glue and you're off! Have a great week, buddy. 🍁👊
You to also before I forget have a happy Halloween, spooky season it’s coming to an end so enjoy it and have a spooky time.🎃👻☠️⚰️🪓🔪❤️
Another great build is always very different very unique and really enjoyed it tell the wife I said hi you have a great weekend and God bless
Thanks, JC. You can say hi to Petra yourself in tomorrow's comments. She just finished her Paint it Pink Jeep which will be uploaded here. I'm very proud of her work. Wishing you a fine weekend too. 🍁👍
41st thumbs up brother and very neat build and enjoyed watching and have a wonderful weekend brother ❤️👍👊😁💯
Thanks, Tony. Wishing you the same, brother. BTW, Swiss Post tracking says the Bel Air arrived in the States yesterday. 🍁📦👍
Super cool Andrew looks amazing brother reminds me of me and my cousin plundering our grandfather's work shop trash bin to build our creations which usly was some kind of truck or car but sometimes a space ship if we had watched star wars the nite before or that day our grandfather was a retired railroader so he made trains apple don't fall far from the tree we was watching him more then he knew lol
Sounds like what I just did with this one! A pile of junk and some super glue! Glad it brought back good memories for you. Those were the days! 🍁👊
Great job Andrew iv not watched any star wars in years but you have sure done a fine job looks great as all your builds I know what you mean getting junk and tacking it apart and just piling it up with the rest of the junk I think I'm going to use in the next 10 year .lol have a great big ol day Andrew and family
Thanks, David. As a matter of fact, my very first date was to see Star Wars at a drive-in theatre. 1977? Asked my dad for the car keys. Good times! 🍁😀
@@MapleLeafCustoms I remember those drive in very well when
Remember them well is what I ment to say me mom Dad sis. Went to see smokey and the bandit 3 times the week it first came out .at the Hill top drive in. In mckee ky I was 7 year old in 77 .I'm a 1970 model .
I don't know why but your commentary is causing feeling of nostalgia for me. I really enjoyed this video. Ty!
That's nice. Glad you enjoyed it. 🍁☕️👍
I agree, he has something to his voice.
WOW! Very cool build. I enjoy how you walk us thru the process. Also like your dry sense of humor too. LOL! Take care and stay safe! 👍👍👍🇺🇸🇨🇦
Thanks, Steve. I've been wanting to give this type of thing a try for a while now. Not changing course on the channel, but more to come for sure. 🍁👊
shared liked loved ! sifi cool looking space craft ! have fun !
Thanks for dropping by, Robin. Hope all is well in Dartmouth, brother. 🍁🇨🇦
Just subscribed - from Michigan, United States - I started kit bashing way back in the 80s with my original Star Wars toys, now I still do it. I make speeders, swoop bikes, landspeeders and rail speeders, even a couple starships. This is an awesome build! May The Glue Be With You!
Hi, Thomas. Thanks for watching, and for the new sub too. Cool. Nice to see another kit basher in the house. I'm new at it, but having a great time. And the glue is all over me! 🍁☕️😂
That was a lot of fun Andrew and a wonderful escape from the little cars! That being said, there's one thing the little cars will always have over this type of build - ease of storage 🤣🤣🤣 Thanks for taking us on this escape with you - much like the post apocalyptic builds, it's so much fun to see what can be created when people let their imaginations (and glue) run wild!
Hi, Jim. You've identified the #1 problem for sure. What to do with it now! 😂😂Really. lol. Take care my friend! 🍁🚀
@@MapleLeafCustoms It's moments like these where my inner child comes out, wanting you to hang it from your ceiling by fishing line, at a appropriate attack angle toward the door 🤣🤣🤣
@@JimSilva-SilvaDiecastCustoms Believe it or not, I've already had fishing line in hand and an eye hook for mounting it in my hobby room. But it's an A frame ceiling and there's nowhere it can go without being at head bashing level! It won't fit on a shelf, all the counter space is occupied and my wife won' let me hang it in the living room. Go figure. I need another coffee to figure this one out... ☕😂
Fan-freakin-tastic build, LOOOOVE it!!!!!
Thanks for the fine feedback. I'm encouraged to try another one! 🍁👊🚀
Hi Andrew. This turned out really great. I suppose that you had a lot of fun building this. A lot of imagination! You have a few nice tools. I never saw this kind of scissors. We use this kind of knipplertool in a bigger version at work. I never saw one this small.
Great work! 🇱🇺
Thanks, Yves. Those tools were just right for this kind of project. I also have set of leather punch shapes that came in handy for making those many greeblies. 🍁👍
@@MapleLeafCustoms me to. I use them sometimes to make washers 😅
Great scratchery Andrew. Great build and video.
Thanks, Steve. Loved the model building aspect of it the most. Quite satisfying to see something come out of so little to begin with. 🍁👍
Astronomical effort Andrew totally out of this world, reaching the outer limit's of scratch building beyond the height's of one cosmic reach. In other word's Brilliant. Cheer's JV
Thanks, JV. It was fun to watch this one come together bit by bit. Lots of fun. 🍁👊🚀
EXELLENT job Andrew. You have some wonderful imagination. I would not know where to even start
I'm sure you'd excel at this too, Pete. Box of junk and some super glue is the recipe. I had no plan in mind when I started, and at one point just said, 'finished.' 🍁😂
What a load a rubbish! 😂🤣 Fabulous bit of work Andrew, really interesting, fun watch.......👌🏻🇨🇦👏🏻🇬🇧👍🏻🇨🇭
Thanks, Jack. Something new to keep everyone guessing! Not sure what to do with it now... 🍁😂
@@MapleLeafCustoms..... isn't it obvious? You compound the problem by making it a Nostromo style tug and build a car transporter for it to tow 😁🤣😂🥴
@@septiccalling8341 I'm on it! 😀
Very nice work Andrew. Definite change of pace to usual builds and I thoroughly enjoyed it
Thank you kindly, Gary. It was a nice change for me too. Glad you enjoyed it. Have a great weekend. 🍁👊
Dude Andrew this was a fantastic trash bash my friend. I need to build one this big one day. Keep it going brother!
You should! I probably should have started smaller, but hey. These two things fit together.. then I can glue this on.. then it's huge! 🍁😂
Fantastic!
Many thanks, Yannick! Fun going off the beaten path this time. 🍁👍
Very nice space ship! Would love to see it in any science fiction movie or series. Really a very realistic result.
That's nice to hear. Maybe be in a far away fade shot or something, but not too close! 🍁😂
I don't know how to explain it, but priming a kitbashed model and seeing it all look like one cohesive thing is extremely satisfying.
I'm with you. It's my favourite part too. 🍁☕️👍
I learned many new things and enjoyed catching the premiere!
I hope you'll do some more scratch builds in the future!
Thanks, Ben. You were part of the inspiration to take this leap. Even though this one was a fairly large one for a first attempt, I'd really like to make a massive ship. More to come for sure! (now, what to do with it??😂😂). 🍁👍
I am loving this. Nicely done!
Thank you so much! The positive feedback is encouraging. Enjoy the day! 🍁👊
This is out of this world!! Well, it is a space ship so it is indeed out of this world. Hahaha. I really enjoy this build. I was looking forward to seeing it from the time you gave us a preview and I not disappointed. It is one of my favorites although I have a lot of favorites from your channel.
Well done Andrew the bits and pieces really come together really well. Awesome!!!! One luv and nuff rispek 👊🏿🇯🇲🇨🇦🇨🇭
Thank you, Ricky! I appreciate the kind words, especially as this is my first try at kit bashing. Take care, my friend! 🍁👊
Wow, Hollywood next space station already made.
Not quite, Andy, but thanks for watching and for the fine feedback too! 🍁👍😂
Very interesting....your projects reveal themselves during the first
paint primer. Amazing hobby!
Yes, it's lots of fun to create out of discarded items! Thanks for watching. 🍁👍
Outstand work, It always amazes me seeing these kinds of build take shape as you never truly know which way they'll end up until their painted. Also great show casing of those new tools, I think I'll have to check a few of them out for myself.
I wasn't totally sure which way it was going either, John! 😂 Good tools are a must. I like that nibbler a lot. Take care, my friend. 🍁👊🚀
Outstanding!!!
Thanks! I learned a lot on this inaugural project. Time to do another one. 🍁☕️👍
Greeblies?! Cut Transform Glue? (Love!that channel!) You’re really diversifying! Great build! That was a lot of fun.
...and now for something completely different! 🍁😂
nicely done!

Thank you very much. I hope to do some more of this type of project, large and small. 🍁☕️👍
Nice work, Sir!
Thank you! Have a great day. 🍁👍
This is awesome Andrew. Love it. You are the best.
Well, your pink Jeep's numbers are better than my spaceship's, so there has been a shift in the balance of power around here! 🍁😂🚀
Came out great! Love how a kit/trash bash can be so creative. Great craftsmanship!
Thanks for the fine feedback. I'm encouraged! 🍁☕️👊
Very cool and impressive space ship build :)

Love it. Looks amazing. I’ve never tried to do a kitbash model, but one day I’m going to surprise myself and do one. I’ve been collecting extra model pieces from tanks, planes and the odd cyclon, so my stash is somewhat weak at the moment, but one day.
Watching you from Liverpool UK.

Thanks so much, Mel. I'm glad you found my channel and have enjoyed this video. I do mostly diecast cars, but will definitely be doing many more sci-fi creations. Great fun! Wishing you a fine weekend, with greetings from Switzerland. 🍁☕️👍
looks great and properly ramshackle and thrown-together. :) great use of assorted tidbits and stuff. ^^ I think you started to grin at some point, when you saw somethign and knew it would go THERE. :)
that canadian arm on the bridge bauble surely is there to pick up cosmic hydrogen to refuel a bit while roaming the outback, avoiding the regular patrol ships. :) and... "black highlight"? ain't that a paradoxon or two?
this also made me think of the plastic trays inside a box of "Toffifee" toffees. thin, rounded, structured, and usually tinted gold like optical filters; I want to use them to create the top windows of a fabrication plant building, but I have no use for such... so, there. ;)
there is this ancient german sci-fi series, "Raumpatroullie Orion", which was famous for using whatever they could find to make props, like using a futuristic clothes-iron to make the ship's manual control shifter... or plastic buckets for other stuff. but at least they had a tactical holo-display. Enterprise, take this! XD
Love that feedback and report. Thanks! Going to grab some Toffee now to see what's inside (...for the next one)! 🍁😂
@@MapleLeafCustoms do that, but watch your teeth, or else your favourite Dentist will have fun with you. ;)

Holy Smokes! You must have been one of the "Super Detailers" from 2001 a Space Odyssey. Fantastic space ship Andrew. By the way, I was the Chief Draughtsman at Godfrey Aerospace, which was purchased by Spar Aerospace (The folks who built the Canadarm). As an interesting aside, the Dean of Engineering at Centennial College, where I got my education, was an Engineer on the Avro Arrow project. He taught us one day, when our professor was sick. That was the best day of my college experience. Cheers 🇨🇦 🍁
