A great tip I got for blending in decals when they look too clean is to take a bit of your base colour (the oregano green) on a bit of torn sponge and dab very lightly on the decal after it's applied, it'll make it look worn and blend it in with the paint. Absolutely fantastic build too, very Studio Ghibli and it reminds me heavily of Metal Slug too!
I've been saving recycle items for months, with the intention of doing exactly what you do on this channel, before I even ran across your work. Since I haven't started my projects just yet, naturally my family and friends thought I was becoming a crazy hoarder, saving my trash. lol Thanks to you, I was able to prove my sanity by showing them what I'm really doing. I just hope my stuff comes out as well as yours. Cheers.
@@DRToysCreations That's awesome, I love it. Once you start, it's like it gives you special vision. You start looking for and appreciating the shape of everything, and the basic materials most things are made from. Plus, it's a purely positive thing to be doing. It's one less thing headed to a land-fill, becomes something a collector or kid will enjoy, and creates a way to make a little money as an artist. Of course, the greatest part is, parts are free. When you can make something valuable out of trash, to me, that's the highest on the accomplishment scale. It's inspiring to see your work, and know it can turn out that well, if you know what you're doing.
Great model, nice job. A cheap step-drill is the thing for drilling large holes in sheet/thin material. You'll have much better control - they don't 'pull' themselves into the hole like regular spiral drills do.
The model looks great and the painting is fantastic! I like this design and the weathering looks very good. Thanks for taking this time to build and share this.
Ahhh - really I love this inventional modelling. I've done it also for Warhammer 40K decades ago. I'm thankful to see this stuff - more please! So I leave an abbo 🙂
Get yourself some step drills - they help a ton when performing sketchy maneuvers like drilling towards your hands 😅 also twist drills spin all wild because they bite into the material. Step drills prevent such events by virtue of their geometry Love the outcome!
@@DRToysCreations I saw them used with thin metal, and tried it myself to great success... No whirly sheet metal death 😅 on plastic even the cheap harbor freight or princess auto options should work great!
I’ve been waiting so patiently for this video. Fantastic! Thanks again for sharing. You transform basic bits and pieces into works of art. I thought I’d be waiting 2 weeks for your model, but thankfully it was only a week or a bit. Your friend from Australia. Graeme
I left a big ole comment last night, but I don't see it anymore. So here goes: Love this lil bomber! Has the right mix of nostalgia and futuristic components. Came out amazing, and easily moves to the top of my favorites by you. LMK if you want to sell it ;)
Fantastic little plane/space ship Dave!! I love the rivits and angled wings, it gives me steong vibes for a line of modela from the 70's -80's based off cartons. (They were similar to Rat Fink kind of designs, but other vehicles instead of just hot rods.) I do have to worry about the pilot's visibility though, he'd have to rely on his sensors to know what is directly ahead of him. Also, landing that thing has to be an amazing feat! 😱
Love your videos man! Keep it up please! Love the space crafts and droids you’ve been doing! Alittle challenge for you, since your alittle bit of a Star Wars nerd like me, with the announcement of the new Star Wars Outlaw game, I’d love to see your take on a space outlaw or droid outlaw assistant or outlaw ship. Wild Wild West meets Star Wars underworld!! Have a great weekend and happy fathers day!
When you said about the RECYCLING LOGO , I didn’t notice much in the beginning but once done yeah I noticed it but that’s ok,these things happens and other perfect detailings will make it move out of picture….overall the outcome is amazing 😇
Thanks, I noticed it after I glued the propeller in and painted it with the green… I was hoping the black wash would hide it and it did a little but not all the way. It’s all part of the journey.😅
Super cool my friend came out awesome as always. But in the turn around shots I did see the recycle stuff you missed but if you wouldn't have mentioned it I probably wouldn't have noticed, but still very cool.
Yeah, I just got back from CA Wednesday night, went to a play in Denver on Thursday night so I busted my butt to get that build out and totally missed that.😅 Thanks for checking out all my work, I really appreciate it!
I like the simplicity of it, has a very Metal Slug vibe to it with the chunky proportions. One thing i would've added, is another "railing" around the glass of the cockpit itself in the classic fighter plane H-shape (like two lines across, and one connecting), so it looks sturdier instead of one huge glass dome. Quick tip, from personal experience, if you use thread, always add it after priming. Thread tends to gorge up on paint and looks messy sadly :( Either that, or use fishing line that'll just coat evenly and that you can repaint after (or even scratch off if you want to keep it clear)
Great point on the cockpit. Funny that you mention the string, that’s exactly what happened to me, so I ripped it off and added a new one at the end.😅 Thanks
ATTN!: I just learned a trick for getting that aweful sticker residue off your bottles! It is counter intuitive, but hear me out... "Duct tape." Dab at the residue with a wad of duct tape. The residue would rather stick to the glue on the duct tape than on the bottle. I hope this helps someone else; saved me a lot of frustration.
4:15 melt/sand the tiny bump a little bit to catch the drill tip (?) but wait for it to cool, you should buy a tiny brush for washing your finger nails and palm prints of plastic dust
Looks great , though the pilot can't see out of the front of the cockpit .... and l,thing ifit had a bit more of a protruding nice cone for the engine and propeller , nicely done otherwise 😊👍
As a WWII aviation nerd, this build is right up my street. Brilliant.
Awesome thanks!
Wonderful little plane!
Thanks!
I dont know if kids still have imaginations anymore, but this woudl be a cool little toy line. Chibi bulbous planes with a little pilot inside.
I always hope kids will find this and get inspired to build cool stuff.
Thanks

Bizarre! But I love it. keep making weird things!

That is awesome. Love the cockpit especially. These little ships from the bottles have been some of my favorite builds of yours.

Wow great idea looks cool. Tou should get a step up drill bit for stuff like that on the nose cone. 🤙🏼

Right!😃
