Turning plastic waste into a sci-fi land speeder - full process
Вставка
- Опубліковано 3 жов 2024
- This video shows the process of making the Ksatria Group Vehicle, a land speeder based around plastic waste and scrap. I took an interesting shape of bottle and added a number of parts from scrap, used electronics, toy parts, scale models and other scrap. The main body and many other parts were found in Scrapstore Bristol. The engine parts were made from tubular scrap and wheel parts and mounted on arms based on an old aeroplane wing from a model. This piece was placed in Dynamite Gallery in Brighton and ultimately bought by a collector.

Dude. 6 month old video, the algorithm has you now. Get ready for a flood of views.
Totally jealous of your massive (and well organized) collection of materials!
Right!?!
Wow beautiful! Hard to believe it was a bunch of assorted junk
☝🏽😂 LOOKS TOTALLY AWESOME!!!👍🏽 I CALL THAT THE STAR WARS LOOK 🤔 OR STEAMPUNK-ISH 🤔 SYFY IS A GENERAL TERM 😂
WOW this would drive my OCD up the wall.
one of the best trash bashing that i have ever seen :D
I've been working on my collection as well, One cool piece is great, but really you need like 20 of that same cool piece.
One technique I've learned from masking and painting walls is that when you have put on the masking tape you first paint it with the colour that is under the tape and when that is dry you paint it with the second colour. That way you get perfect lines.
So in this case, after you put on the tape, you should have painted the tape edge red, and then white.
Really cool kitbash build tho!
Interesting, not quite sure I follow - so you stopping any leakage by filling with the colour under? That would make sense!
@marcushillerstrom25, What you explain is very interesting. I'll try it when I need it. Thank you for your advice.
@@philippealain-art No problem, it’s the best way to get perfect lines.
@@dreamyox3837 Exactly! Sorry for a very late answer 😁
@@marcushillerstrom25, advice on how to improve is always welcome, especially when you want a good result. I think I'd seen this tip in a video a while back, but I couldn't quite remember how to do it.
Awesome!
Nice build, but have you thought about adding some narration? even voice over? It really helps hold viewers interest. I tend to skip most videos without sound. I did watch most of this to see the final build, but "I" found it tough to go the 10 minutes without sound. Just my opinion, your mileage may vary. Cheers.
If I make any more of these I think I will...these were largely hosted here so I could show a process to link to from my Instagram so wasn't thinking of making them as pure UA-cam vids if you catch my drift. However, I've been very busy over the last year and not able to make much if any work let alone videos, so will consider maybe making some with narration when I'm back
Don’t stop the videos. Fantastic build ! Could watch these all day.
Very cool!
This my friend deserves more subs .
amazing! good TEQNICAL
In the immortal words of Mr Spock: Fascinating!
Awesome job! For your ending shots, could you possibly make that segment a bit longer? It seemed a bit too short and didn't really do your build that much justice. (in my humble opinion)
I will. I used this as a making of video hosted here for people who came from my Instagram and had seen the final piece but I hadn't banked on it doing well independently here. I am hopefully going to make more videos in future and will do so
@@dreamyox3837 ohh cool! hope to see more soon!
Beautifull spaceship Men...!👌
Nice🔥🔥🔥🔥
I love the painting part 👌
Excelente, mucha imaginacion.
Simply brilliant!
Gunna binge the rest of these later
wow excelente video.
Have been inspired lol I make models but now I will be making a model from scratch - wish me luck lol
Totally cool build.
This was awsome!!
Wow! This is a BEAUTIFUL build! I LOVE the details! The amount of greeblies you have added really sets this apart from a lot of model builders who don't go into as much detail! Have subscribed to your channel!
Amazing! Show us moarrrrr :)
Greetings from Sweden 🇸🇪.
Thank you for your inspirational videos 👍
Dude! That's incredible!! Great work.
I would like to give more likes but unfortunately youtube just allows 1. Great job. Masterpiece
WoW Nice!!!
That's a really nice piece!
Im getting far lone sail and far changeing tide vibes from this ship
Amazing. In future videos, a longer reveal of the final model (turn table?) would be nice.
Gorgeous work!!
A dreamyOx video : O
And my brain was like NAAAW ARE YOU SURE?
And Im like IM TELLING YOU ITS A VIDEO ><
And my brain is like NAAAAAW :>
Beautiful model! 😍
9:33 Lol nice use of a neo zeon decal and lol you even named it after a neo zeon suit
A Steampunk submarine....🥰
I love speeder design
New subscriber mate, really nice work 😉👌
Turned out nice! Looks good
Thank You for share this work with us! I learned a lot from this proyect.
Brilliant video! Fantastic idea, the shapes are already there for you to build upon! Love it!
WOW!!!! That was AWESOME!!!! This is one of the best videos on how to scratch build your own model kits, not to mention one of the coolest ways to help save the planet! 👍🏻 I look forward to seeing more of your videos! You just earned a new subscriber! 😎
So cool
Sweet paint job too
This video and build are awesome! I would love it if it was narrated a bit
I've had similar requests, I've only added these so my Instagram followers can see some of the process, so wasn't thinking as much about the narrative - however, I will consider it for a future video!
I am really Impress
I just want to know how long it took to collect such a wide range of awesome gubbins (random materials)
This looks insanely awesome
I think I've just found a new rabbet hole to get lost in. This is excellent.
Amazing project , my friend !🏅🏆👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🤝🏻👍🏻🎩👌🏻

Make these longer dont be shy.
You are awesome man!!!
Ever use Milliput or something like that
You even have more old patterns in your drawers than I do :)
Fantastic modelling , very intricate and detailed 👌 👏 👍
The model you've made is fantastic, however I really think you would benefit from some different editing techniques and definitely your presentation of the model at the end. Some voice over on your process would really elevate the video, and giving the viewer something to really admire at the end, ideally with some good lighting and camera work, would make this video multitudes more enjoyable to watch. Let us see it for more than 5 seconds before the video ends! Do a turntable, show it off! It's incredible! We want to see it!
Thank you, I agree - I'm not much of a film maker and only recorded this as a supplement to my Instagram for those who wanted to see rather than for it to gain any interest on UA-cam - however if people like I'd be happy to do more I just have so little time to make at the moment let alone film and edit! I have to get help editing as it is...
@@dreamyox3837 Need a good plot
oh wow great Job!!!
👌👌👌
I think the most difficult part of the build is finding 2 of each piece to make it match symmetrically,
When you have so much stuff and junk in the studio it's the joy of it - it becomes a collage that tells you what it wants to be as you make it
I just found your channel and I must say your creations are outstanding! well done!
Thank you! Lovely to be part of the trashbashing community
This is excellent work. Well done!
Good build up. It works fine as a submarine for me as well.
Reminds me of the airships from the anime last exile!
Amazing! Subbed
Oh my god what a workshop
Love your stuff at Small is Beautiful today - Your bits box must be epic!
Thank you! Very glad you enjoyed. My studio is absolutely crammed! Maybe I should do a tour
I am in awe of your "bits box"...or should we call it a bits storage room. Since you apparently have an entire room of cabinets, drawers, etc. filled with an amazing collection of bits and pieces. You sir have a greeblie collection that any scratch builder only dreams of. 🙏🙏
Aweaome build sir, would only wish to have seen more of its creation, thanks for sharing and keep on keeping on!!
Fantastic to see another video on this channel again. It was also really interesting to see this build's development. I didn't realize all the parts you used. It's impressive what paint can do (and of course good story telling).
Thanks Dane. It's been a long while and I'm taking a little break from it for a few weeks so it's nice to be able to share process from a previous model
honestly, the ship looked kinda good before the paint
The primer stage is always when it really starts to come to life!
Thanks for posting this. Ive been in awe of your work on Instagram for years! 👍🏻
I have junk drawer envy....
I have too many! Am moving to a new space and need all the junk drawers
Do you ever make your own Sculpting Tools
Thanks for sharing this. I’ve been following you on Instagram and it’s really cool to see your process. Makes me want to try it as well. What are the yellow panels you put on after priming it white made of?
Thank you! I'm glad you like it. The tape is coach line tape used for adding coach lines and stripes to cars. I can cut it and then peel the backing off
the video says land speeder but i think its a sub the entire time
its a submarine and u are not even trying to hide it
Great build What Brand of paint and Brushes you use
A variety - spray paints from wherever, often molotow, and I get the cheapest brushes I can as I get thrown so many - packs of fine nibs from online. Apart from that it's patina paints, airbrush, acrylic and enamel for a base and oils for weathering
I've got no end of crap in my cupboards you could probably make a full scale replica with.
I'd love to see it! My studio is overflowing
tuff
Fantastic build. It could also double as a deep sea submersible
What Brand of paint and Brushes you use
Ksatria ... its mean a warrior/knight, in my indonesia language
What specific glue for all the various materials
I mainly use everbuild super glue and for anything that doesn't want to stick I use two part epoxy like gorilla glue. Some plastic weld
Have you ever used a ultrasonic knife for cutting the plastic parts ? I have been told it is like cutting butter, but I have not used one myself yet.
No, I have to admit I've never heard of it! I generally use scalpel or saw or band saw and then sand edges
@@dreamyox3837 Lots of youtube videos on ultrasonic knifes, they look like a fantastic tool to have.
Ksatria = Hero in indonesian languange
How many times has your Sigg, Othh (significant other) asked you why don`t you ever throw anything away?
😁🤟
I think it's probably #YT_maker_secret_santa that has caught you up in its wake.
Thank you! What is this? I don't follow UA-cam much and only upload as a place for my Instagram followers to find longer form videos
@@dreamyox3837 check the tag brother. Lots of main makers get together and have fun.
Sieg Zeon! subbed
Quality of the work aside, im really fed up with these UA-cam people who are too afraid to talk about what they are doing. Look at how awesome Studsons videos are and Luke Towan. No im not going to just sit and watch you. No subscription and a thumbs down. Get over your stage fright and join the top tier guys and gals. Speak!
It must be f*cking tiring being this entitled.
Amazing!
