Here ‪@TheHappyHootie‬ we aim to do things as easily as possible. Here are some tips on removing Pampas grass this fall. Pampas grass or decorative / fluting grass offer relatively maintenance free decorations for your yard, but you do have to cut them down once per year in the fall / early winter so the ice and snow do not smash them down. This allows them to freshly burst forth in the spring and retain that beautiful spray shape that they are known for.
In this video we show how to safely and effectively remove this grass with minimal effort. It is a "dirty" project so wear appropriate clothing and plan on taking a shower after. Grass can cut your arms and leave you itchy!

I find it easier to cut in the spring and just cut the fluffy tops off bag all those and then work your way down and mulch the rest of the plant till you get done to the bottom a lot easier than going around and around with cord and then you have the whole plant to dispose of I have 9 ft plants about 15 pompous plants. I'd much rather have somebody to do it but I can't find anyone. Thank you for your demonstration though it was very informative. Cindy

Another great way to do it! We do it this way in the late fall before the snow and ice. You can certainly do it in steps like you said, but if we wait until spring and the ice hits before we have removed it crushes the whole thing down into a pile of mess and we found it more difficult to remove. (Plus it gets ugly!)
      Appreciate you kind comments!
