Great to see Boothy back riding and reviewing. The content from this channel is the best it's ever been. Definitely showing the established press how to make informative but exiting and interesting videos.
My first bike was a 2014 FZ-09 which was the MT-09 name in North America. Was a total blast to own and ride, and for sure a hooligan bike. I've since traded it in for a 2021 Ducati Streetfighter V4S, but I'll always look back fondly on my 7 years with the Yamaha.
The CP3 engine is one of the best all around motorcycle engines ever made. Perfect power delivery from 2k rpm all the way to redline. Smooth, predictable, powerful, and useable. The best of all worlds.
Have the latest 1050 RS before they moved to 1200 and I love it to bits but it just isnt as smooth as the Yamaha triple and it never will be simply because of the firing order with their T plane crank or whatever they called it.@@Chambers36TheEnter
0:34 love them. had a old pair of cheap motorcycle gloves that had holes in them and finnaly bought new gloves this january. i also got the trach tech 4's but i got them in yellow because the special patterns colours where not available
You don't understand - I've watched ALL the MT09 videos. Even in languages I do not understand. So seeing one of my fav channels post this, I get fizzy.
Boothy , great review my friend! All feels right seeing you out and about again. All of us appreciate all you have been through and you are a shining example of taking what you get and being better for it . Seriously, thank you ! Massive shout out to all those close and dear to you who have helped through all the tough times. Keep on being Boothy , be safe , looking forward to all 44 does in these silly times. Pawlak
Glad to see you back reviewing! I must say I quite like the front end a lot better than the previous bike. I hope they go the same direction with the next MT10. I'd get the tattoo too lmao, I've done over 70000kms on MTs, my fav bikes.
Why can't RST bring some cool glove designs out, like a 44t special edition range? Sorry RST but the solid colour options are just too boring, as soon as you bring out some exciting options I will buy a pair.
I loved the tiny clips scattered throughout, where the camera has obviously slipped and gives the impression he's doing a wheelie. I mean obviously not, that might get you demonetised. 😂
When bike manufacturers make a "special" tire in collaboration with the tire company, it's usually not as high of quality as the standalone version you buy from a shop. What makes it special is the discounted bulk rate they receive, which is a savings I assume is not passed on to the consumer.
I am a Triumph lover and owner. There are only two engine configurations, a tripple and a V4. I rode the only MT-09...what a brilliant motorcycle ! The only time I have felt TC saved me ! What a magic bike !
Many a day I’ve thought I wonder if Boothy will get back. And just this morning I had same thought .. fk me you turn up.. great to see you back and with a great review. Look forward to seeing more!
I dont really know why every new model gets uglier...how on earth people can aprove this design and send it to production. Same goes for many other brands as well each year worst. Great to have Boothy back I enjoyed the video not the looks of the bike
Small correction for 13:42 - the first MT was the MT-01, a absolutely bonkers 1700cc VMAX engine strapped inside a sports bike frame. Named master of torque for its max of 111ft-lb. I know its bonkers because I own one!
yamaha road star motor V Twin air cooled on MT01 I own one! Engine: 1,670 cc (102 cu in) air-cooled, 4-stroke, 4-valve OHV V-twin Power: 66.3 kW (88.9 hp) @ 4,750 rpm Seat height: 825 mm (32.5 in) Top speed: 210 km/h (130 mph)

@@billclanton1140 or perhaps their opinion just differed from yours so was wrong i assume? Theres a reason nobody ever bought one and theres a reason you never see one - not enough people thought they were any good I appreciate you like your old mock harley muscle bike with no poke, but time has moved on.
On disabling ABS on an older MT09 - a bit of a burnout will wig the system out similarly to a wheelie as Boothy mentioned (Allegedly) Cracking review gents
the bit about the indicator switch being something you'll probably get used to if you owned it?... i have the triumph street triple 765 with similar operation, and i've hated it for well over 4k miles. it does not get any easier to use, and i hate it every single time i use it. but this mt09 one without the cancel button seems like it would be even worse. if you're trying for a hard press and you think you may have missed it and done a soft press, you can't just do another press because if you actually got it, then you'll be cancelling it.
Great job Boothy! BTW, OE homologated tyres are not made up to a special spec but down for a special price, generally worse the shelf tyres, I think this should be mentioned.
As a Hypermotard rider these have been a thought for a while. I’m intrigued how it would compare so perhaps I will take your advice and test ride one. Great vid.
Best tattoo story I’ve heard was from a British submariner. On a run ashore in Hong Kong they bumped into some US Navy sailors who haven’t endure dry ships. As such, when they go ashore, they’re three sheets to the wind after a couple of pints. Once absolutely plastered they one US sailor to tattoo parlour and he agreed to get a Union Jack tattooed on his shoulder to show brotherhood and a special relationship 😂😂
Great to have you back.. how does it feel pulling the wheelies with being able to cover the back brake? Or does the ‘lift’ control make you a wheelie god 😊
2 more seasons with my current 2020 SP (optimized to 181,5 kgs wet, 117 whp) before the new gen4 SP will be my new tool to attack the mountain passes 😅🔥💯🏁
Waiting for my 2020 MT09 to get delivered and it will be atleast a month until the riding season begins here in miserable Finland, so I’m not sure if it’s wise to tease myself by watching these videos but great content as always!🎉
The commentary 😂 where else would a bike review talk about getting your knob out or naming you custom setting 'dangerous riding' ... Well done young man ❤
Absolute legend Boothy, great to see you back 😎👌🏻👌🏻
Great to have Boothy back reviewing bikes . Top job young man.
Absolutely chuffed to bits to have Boothy back on the launches. 44teeth is now complete again! ❤️
Great to see Boothy back and hoiking wheelies on a new filly!

As a former first gen MT09 owner, I couldn't agree more!

Wonder how much xtra power than can squeeze out for upcoming R9? Seems it could use another 10 or 20 hp at cost of some low mid torque
onboard commentary from boothy is unmatched

I was gonna get the MT-09 as my first motorcycle, but when I went on a test ride I decided that I would die on that thing.
It’s not even a good bike for experienced riders either.

start on a mt-07, after 2 years and a lot of miles get a mt-09.

The on the throttle autoblipper gas been on the Aprilias since they came out with their autoblippers in 2017. Wondered why more OEMs hadn't done that.
