The Sims 3 is amazing. A lot of people prefer 2 and I adore 2 but for me, the culmination of the franchise was with 3 and I will die on that hill. Make sure to look into the NRAAS suite of mods to ensure the best experience!

tonight im going to be getting mods and cc for sims 3 and start fully playing it for the first time on pc. i played it on console as a kid and want to revisit with the modding freedom i have with sims 4.
I actually preferred the controls for TS4 on console until they murdered the controls. I'm not sure why they went and messed with literally the only thing that wasn't broken in that game. 🤣 The main reason for getting a computer for it was so I could finally use mods and cc. Mods and cc really save and make up for some of the major faults the game has. So I'm assuming this is also the case for TS3 as well. I'm thankful it's finally just running. I'll venture to do cc once I figure out all the lag stuff 😊 it's a real process. Lol
To help with lag in this world you really want to get the mod to stop premades (townie sims) from moving house boats from MTS and lazy duchess smooth patch that plus nrass will make a big difference!
Oh the house boat thing is a new one I haven't heard yet. I've done most of the Lazy Dutchess smooth patch stuff but now I gotta figure out the NRAAS that everyone (including you) have mentioned now. It seems like the major one that fixes a lot of the lag huh lol I love this community. 😊 So many issues with this game but people love it so much they come together to help each other out. It's beautiful, really.
And honestly with how greedy EA is getting with The Sims 4, they are making that game less and less appealing. I'm having so much fun exploring the older stuff right now. And very interested in the new simulation games that are going to be coming out. They don't look quite as polished as The Sims but this is their first run at it. I'm sure over time they'll have things looking beautiful. And maybe we'll actually get to play a new simulation game that isn't riddled with bugs and glitches. 🤷♀️ Lol I'm not gonna lie though, even if those new simulation games suck, I'm still having so much fun with the older versions of the sims. Newer isn't always better. 🙂

I just filmed the first episode of the LP today 😊 I don't know if I just messed up or if you can't just up and move your sim to a new town and keep their history the same? I moved Lola and she's still the same but I no longer have my gf. I'm kinda sad about it but it's ok. She gets a new beginning I guess. 🤷♀️ Lol

Once you download a bunch of mods to fix it, it runs somewhat better. 🤦🏻♀️ Lol! They are all kind of buggy. (All the Sims games) I do love them all though. 🙂
A quick word of advice, you have accidentally picked the world notorious for being a buggy mess and for ruining saves. I'd download NRASS overwatch and NRASS error trap immediately and it's probably a good idea to move your sim if you can

This seems to be my luck in general lol Do you think even after downloading those two mods that it will still be unplayable in Isla Paradiso? Also thank you so much for the advice! So long as they aren't "break the game" level, bugs and glitches then it should be ok. 😊 I guess I could try to move her though because I say I can deal with glitches now but knowing myself, eventually it'll break me if they are constantly happening. 🤔
You just happened to pick the laggiest world to play in. There are some tricks to making it less laggy, and I thinks someone here has already mentioned it. It you get frustrated with the lag, try moving the sim to another world and see if it helps. Pick up those little cylinders on your lot and give them to Emit. Then he'll leave and you can turn the portal off and move it or sell it. Also, if you turn off memories, it will help eliminate lag. I love watching those who haven't played much discover new things about the game. I'm looking forward to more episodes.
😊 yeah I moved Lola to Twinbrook. I started a LP with her there. I didn't realise you needed a mod to be able to move your Sims between worlds and keep all of their history the same. I guess I thought it worked the same as the Sims 4. So she's the same Sim but she doesn't have her gf anymore, unfortunately. Thank you for the feedback. I need all the help I can get. Lol

We started off trying to follow the mission, too, but also got sidetracked about the time traveler popping up out of nowhere in your game. It was really short but comical, like: Guy: (Drinking his soda and suddenly sees the time traveler appear) OMG. Time traveler: Dude. What year is it. Guy: 2020. Time traveler: What part of 2020. The pandemic or the zombie apocalypse. Guy: The pandem- WHAT DO YOU MEAN, THE ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE.

When the EA app isn't working, do you know if it's still accessable from another source like steam instead? Or would it be down for all apps if it's down for one? And that's awesome! I didn't even think to look for a mod that fixed the Murphy bed. That actually makes me really happy! I need to start poking around more. I'm just a walking disaster and I usually just opt to not touch anything for fear of breaking stuff and ruining my game. But if I never attempt to experiment with anything then I'll never learn how to do this stuff on my own. I'm sorry you weren't able to get any clothes on that wild Sim of yours but a lot of very famous paintings are of naked or half naked people. Maybe she'll make Sim history and be the next Lady Godiva? 🤷♀️ 🙂
TS2 is the best game in the franchise hands down. Not open world of course, but with mods you can create a visual experience that is amazing. I could never get into TS3 because it is so slow moving. If I had a fun bar, it would be in the red whenever I tried playing it. And I keep going back to it thinking I didn't give it a fair shake. Still dislike it.
I still feel The Sims 2 has the best textures of all of the games. That's for sure. And I would say so far it's probably been my favourite. But I REALLY enjoyed this small amount of gameplay from The Sims 3. What is it about TS3 that you're not really liking? I think initially when I had installed it (way back when), I gave up on it really fast once it was lagging. I didn't even try to figure out what I could do to fix the lag and I think it's because the Sims just looked too robotic or robot like. Back then I just was so used to them looking more cartoonish that the lifelike nature of them was a bit off-putting. I'm excited to play TS3 a bit more now though. Now that their faces don't scare me as much and the lag isn't a thing 😂
@@GG_JoJo So in 2009 I had a 6 year old gaming PC that was top of the line when I bought it and still very far above specs for TS3. It crashed about once an hour, plus I felt my Sims weren't accomplishing anything. I even eventually got 3 EPs (Generations, World Adventures and University) thinking I'd enjoy some different aspects. Of course, that increased the crashing. Coupled with the fact that in 2009 I was very literally fighting for my life (I'm well now), it was probably a perfect storm for disliking the game. But I have tried it every now and then just to try to give it fair shake. Once just within the last month. I think the slow moving nature of the game gets me the most. My most recent character just aged up to an adult and even though the only thing I did with her was go to work and work on skills at home, she is woefully poorly skilled. I'm sure there are ingame skill enhancers like in TS2 and TS4, but I couldn't earn enough points to buy anything. Plus, as you say, the Sims were not the cute anime look that we enjoy in TS2 and TS4. But I will likely boot it up again in the future, play for a couple hours and then not touch it for months. I've really tried to like the game.
I'm glad you recovered! Major health issues can cause some severe trauma. I can see how that would kind of leave a bad taste in your mouth. You're playing a game that is supposed to help you relax and focus on something else to ease your anxiety and instead you were dealing with frustration from it not running properly on top of everything else you were going through. The "grinding" in all of the Sims games is the biggest irritation for me too. The only one that has a saving grace is in The Sims 4 with Tiny Living. The whole classing your home as a micro or tiny home makes your skill building just fly by. Living in a micro home just to get this advantage can get annoying but at least it's starts you off decently and then eventually you just upgrade and move on.
@@GG_JoJo I've taken to making hacked microhomes. Beautiful large ranch style homes that only have 32 tiles "officially." I have LP's on my channel where I show these if you haven't tried building those. But also, don't forget Get Together. I have TS4 Sims in clubs full time (unless playing a base game only save that I would do for added challenge). Even without mood trainers, I still find it less laborious in TS2 and TS4 than in TS3. You do have to be careful with club setting though. Even if you don't have a club vibe of playful or highest comradery, it can send your Sim into hysterics very easily. The stars of my LP's have died 3x 😆😆😆 Plus, if you raise your sims from toddlerhood and really raise them (all 4 base kid aspirations and scouting to Llamacorn) it increases their skill rate even more! And of course lot traits are beneficial as well.

The Sims 3 is amazing it was the peak of EA in terms of creativity and all it's expansion pack further add to the base game.

I love that you decided to just let the second sim just chill and be in her naked dancing glory. All while mowing down on gingerbread cake. The other chaos may not have made the cut but at least that little treasure stayed. It will always remind you of the wild ride that was the start of that gameplay. Lol Sometimes the chaos is a good time.
The laying down in the non-existent snow is also hilarious to me. I just don't understand why they didn't program this stuff out. Too much pushing forward to produce new instead of fixing and perfecting what already exists, I guess.
The dying from laughter in the sims 4 is a death that genuinely irritates me. I could really do without. Oh my goodness and the murphy bed death! Stop! That bed made me so happy because of the gameplay attached until I died from it for the first time not knowing it was a possibility. This was literally the thing that reminded me that I needed to be saving more often than what I had been doing. Lol
They ruined that object, in my opinion. I loved it and used it and then after it murdered me I never used it again. Lol

The person in the llama costume was really fun though. I thought that was a nice change of pace than a bunch of neighbours bringing fruitcake that is bad quality. Lol
And to be honest, I was actually kinda interested in helping space guy with his little mission but I am SO easily distracted. Literally I think I was in the middle of saying 'how do I find the stuff for this?' 7:21 then cut myself off at 'how do I find' because cars went ripping by me and then I spotted people down the road and *poof* mission forgotten. 🤦🏻♀️ I wish this wasn't how my brain operated but "it do be like that." Lol

- Oh, that’s awful. Never did get that pack because absolutely expected EA to put in some ghastly little ‘but...aha!’ detail to completely ruin the Murphy bed.
And then - that’s exactly what they did.
If there’s a nice object or feature added, already know they’ll add some sour detail to make it no fun at all. They’re really consistent with that. To be fair, at least that makes them consistent about - something - but it’s sort of bizarre.
Bet there’s a mod to fix the problem, though. Just browsing. Yes, there is. The Dec. 5 (2023) game update broke a ton of mods, but something to keep in mind for later, if the mod is updated.

Because we had them painting Christmas portraits for one of the rooms. She was the - very last one - left to do but couldn’t even get any pajamas on her.
So they just painted her that way.
The chaos behind the scenes isn’t going into final cut - but if you see the episode and there she is all her pixelated glory, you know the inside story.

- No worries at all. We started off trying to follow the mission, too, but also got sidetracked about the time traveler popping up out of nowhere in your game.
Because just remembering this one video sketch during the 2020 lockdowns.
It was two characters, a guy in his kitchen drinking a soda, and a time traveler who suddenly appears in his living room. It was really short but comical, like:
Guy: (Drinking his soda and suddenly sees the time traveler appear) OMG.
Time traveler: Dude. What year is it.
Guy: 2020.
Time traveler: What part of 2020. The pandemic or the zombie apocalypse.
Guy: The pandem- WHAT DO YOU MEAN, THE ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE.

I'm glad you found the turkey mod! I'm not surprised the app is down. When the EA app isn't working, do you know if it's still accessable from another source like steam instead? Or would it be down for all apps if it's down for one?
And that's awesome! I didn't even think to look for a mod that fixed the Murphy bed. That actually makes me really happy! I need to start poking around more. I'm just a walking disaster and I usually just opt to not touch anything for fear of breaking stuff and ruining my game. But if I never attempt to experiment with anything then I'll never learn how to do this stuff on my own.
I'm sorry you weren't able to get any clothes on that wild Sim of yours but a lot of very famous paintings are of naked or half naked people. Maybe she'll make Sim history and be the next Lady Godiva? 🤷♀️ 🙂

TS2 is the best game in the franchise hands down. Not open world of course, but with mods you can create a visual experience that is amazing. I could never get into TS3 because it is so slow moving. If I had a fun bar, it would be in the red whenever I tried playing it. And I keep going back to it thinking I didn't give it a fair shake. Still dislike it.
I still feel The Sims 2 has the best textures of all of the games. That's for sure. And I would say so far it's probably been my favourite. But I REALLY enjoyed this small amount of gameplay from The Sims 3. What is it about TS3 that you're not really liking?
I think initially when I had installed it (way back when), I gave up on it really fast once it was lagging. I didn't even try to figure out what I could do to fix the lag and I think it's because the Sims just looked too robotic or robot like. Back then I just was so used to them looking more cartoonish that the lifelike nature of them was a bit off-putting.
I'm excited to play TS3 a bit more now though. Now that their faces don't scare me as much and the lag isn't a thing 😂
@@GG_JoJo So in 2009 I had a 6 year old gaming PC that was top of the line when I bought it and still very far above specs for TS3. It crashed about once an hour, plus I felt my Sims weren't accomplishing anything. I even eventually got 3 EPs (Generations, World Adventures and University) thinking I'd enjoy some different aspects. Of course, that increased the crashing. Coupled with the fact that in 2009 I was very literally fighting for my life (I'm well now), it was probably a perfect storm for disliking the game.
But I have tried it every now and then just to try to give it fair shake. Once just within the last month. I think the slow moving nature of the game gets me the most. My most recent character just aged up to an adult and even though the only thing I did with her was go to work and work on skills at home, she is woefully poorly skilled. I'm sure there are ingame skill enhancers like in TS2 and TS4, but I couldn't earn enough points to buy anything.
Plus, as you say, the Sims were not the cute anime look that we enjoy in TS2 and TS4.
But I will likely boot it up again in the future, play for a couple hours and then not touch it for months. I've really tried to like the game.
I'm glad you recovered! Major health issues can cause some severe trauma. I can see how that would kind of leave a bad taste in your mouth. You're playing a game that is supposed to help you relax and focus on something else to ease your anxiety and instead you were dealing with frustration from it not running properly on top of everything else you were going through.
The "grinding" in all of the Sims games is the biggest irritation for me too. The only one that has a saving grace is in The Sims 4 with Tiny Living. The whole classing your home as a micro or tiny home makes your skill building just fly by. Living in a micro home just to get this advantage can get annoying but at least it's starts you off decently and then eventually you just upgrade and move on.
@@GG_JoJo I've taken to making hacked microhomes. Beautiful large ranch style homes that only have 32 tiles "officially." I have LP's on my channel where I show these if you haven't tried building those. But also, don't forget Get Together. I have TS4 Sims in clubs full time (unless playing a base game only save that I would do for added challenge). Even without mood trainers, I still find it less laborious in TS2 and TS4 than in TS3.
You do have to be careful with club setting though. Even if you don't have a club vibe of playful or highest comradery, it can send your Sim into hysterics very easily. The stars of my LP's have died 3x 😆😆😆
Plus, if you raise your sims from toddlerhood and really raise them (all 4 base kid aspirations and scouting to Llamacorn) it increases their skill rate even more! And of course lot traits are beneficial as well.
