I did my best to convert the currency from CAD to the currency of the top 5 countries Google says plays the Sims 4 most.
**ALSO** I accidentally lied at the end where I said I've only paid full price for two packs. I also paid full price for the Horse Ranch Pack as well and a few of the kits.... I mean, I'm sure I've probably paid full price for some of the middle tier packs but I honestly can't remember which ones, if any.

Also, seriously with the prices though, right?!.... When I got done calculating the amount of all of just the expansion packs (because I did actually calculate them in the order that I did in the video as well) I honestly felt a little dizzy. It's a good thing I was already sitting down because I may have ended up fainting lol
What do you mean by alternative methods? Do you mean CC or do you have a way to pirate the packs? (If it’s the latter pls tell me hehe)

I feel like another important factor is to take a look at your hobbies outside of the Sims. If you’re really into sports and fitness, then maybe the Fitness Stuff pack and Spa Day are up your alley. If you’re like me and you’re goth / alternative then packs like Vampires, Spooky Stuff, Paranormal, and Werewolves are gonna be more valuable. I don’t see myself purchasing packs like Jungle Adventures or Journey to Batuu because those aren’t things im interested outside of Sims to begin with
Oh yeah, 100%. That definitely helps narrow things down a bit for sure. My problem is that I get bored really easily. I'm definitely a gameplay person. I can get caught up in building too but my eyesight is really bad so it's not as enjoyable as it could be. And I suck at CAS so I have kind of given up on myself on that front. Lol
So what ends up happening with me is I inadvertantly have the same sort of gameplay over and over again. My strategy to break that up a bit has been to go for packs that don't necessarily "call" to me, just to have a little more variety in my gameplay.
Thank goodness for cc but what about console players, right? Console players are really at EA's mercy. 😕
For me Sims is where I get to be a character so it's less about what I am interested in IRL and more how my characters adventures can be expanded in game, so it is complicated for me. I judge each pack on its worth in furthering my characters stories.
A lot of people have said they enjoy building because they find the gameplay boring, not because they are not interested in it just that the gameplay isn't intrested enough to keep their attention.
Also a lot of Sims-Tubers/Social Media Influencers do what's popular 'on camera'. Building is very popular on camera. I don't think people who post on UA-cam as a career are a good measure of the divide between CAS/BUILDING/GAMEPLAY since once you start making money from yourube, you do the things that make you money and get you views. James Turner enjoys building but from his Lets Plays you can tell, when it's working, he loves gameplay that motivates and shapes the building as opposed to just playing virtual legos for the sake of playing virtual legos.
I think we all exist in some percentage of intrest in multiple areas of Sims. Like I am not big on CAS or Building but both matter to me by some degree. I love building a neighborhood slowly through gameplay and I do care when the tools to do so aren't there.
Oh, absolutely. The gameplay definitely gets stale after awhile. Whenever that happens I tend to try and spark some creativity by building something based on characters in my head or a house based on a certain time period. Or go for packs that would cause me to get out of my "comfort" zone. Or shell challenges I find on Instagram. Although lately I've mostly been playing older entries of the Sims. Mostly Sims 3 because it's the one I'm the least familiar with. And also because Sims 2 is still not running great on my pc and my eyeballs can only take so much poking around online to find fixes. lol
And I suppose you're right about UA-cam simmers not being a good measure of that divide of CAS/building/gameplay. Although there are some people who have stated they heavily prefer one aspect and are not at all interested in the other aspects of the game. Simproved has said a few times that she loves to build and that's all she really cares about. That's why she deep dives into debug with every new pack. I love those videos. How often do you see people showcasing an aspect of the pack that most people would never have even given a second thought to?
And I know what you mean about James Turner. I love watching him build based around a storyline or characters he's going to be using but his LP's I can't really get into.
And I agree with you. Even if you strongly prefer one aspect of the game versus others, they all still matter in some way. Like I suck at CAS and it frustrates me but I also couldn't just play with a randomly generated character. Or random traits.
@@GG_JoJo I feel we vibe a lot, My CAS skills are not top notch and I renovate more than build. I actually like doing community lots more than houses tbh. Not neccessarily good at them but I like making things to do and places for my Sims to go in a neighborhood.

@@TheDawnofVanlife 😂 Omg my community lots are SO bad, but I love them. I also like doing them so my Sims have a bit more variety and experiences to have. I don't tackle them as often as houses though, because trying to split up interiors is probably my biggest hurdle. I don't know how having more space to work with makes things so much more difficult but somehow it does. Lol
And that number situation is a whole thing, let me tell ya.... Lol
