My daughter accidentally knocked the table over that's holding all of the ones behind me (minus the actual tree) and I thought for sure my bird of paradise (the second biggest one behind me) was goner. Luckily just a few torn leaves. There were some fatalities of the smaller plants though. I guess they kinda broke the fall of the big one. Lol

Omg the cave noises! You know what's worse though? The ghast. My kid likes to go into creative mode and just spawn millions of them and crank the volume up on the TV just to drive me insane.... Yeah the bugs kinda kill the vibes. BUT if you literally just get the base game, it is a pretty sweet deal. I've been getting bored of the gameplay lately so I've been testing the waters with other games but nothing seems to hold my attention for very long. Like whenever I am actually having a good time with the sims, it's absolutely nothing for like 2 or 3 hours to go by and not notice at all. Or the rare times when I actually make a conscious effort to have a "me" day, like 6 hours... What are some games you're really into? Do you have any recommendations?

I wonder if they have a team that takes suggestions for stuff like this. And if they do, do they actually respond... 🤔 The odd time they will post a survey but it's usually already geared towards specific things to help them pick a "this or that" type scenario. There's DEFINITELY a lot more that could be done. But it is nice to see that they are trying to add things. One thing I was really curious about, will they ever add wheelchairs?... I don't know how difficult that would be to work out the animations and stuff but I feel like that is something that probably should have been worked on awhile ago. I wouldn't give up on the Slavic culture representation. It seems they have been trying to branch out. And I think it would make for an awesome addition to the game. And with regards to albinism, I feel like all the key things you need are there. Granted, I have only ever known one person with albinism. But I feel pretty confident that I could make a sim that looked very similar to her. She, of course, had very very light, pale skin. Her hair was the most beautiful, bright shade of blonde. I guess platinum blonde? It was pretty much white. I remember being very jealous at the time. And her eyes were a very light blue. I feel like all of those things are in the game. But again, I'm only basing this opinion off of one person I knew so there might be a lot more I'm missing?

Also personal style..... They asked the community to vote on what kits they want, and they said goth, and those mother F-ers still found a way to sneak rainbow patterns and obnoxious colors in there as if people really didn't have a choice after all between goths and their whack rainbow colorful clothes kit. I hate that shit about the sims 4. The CC community is making a little bit of everything to serve different people, and all we get from EA and the sims 4 devs is rainbow, cornball corny clothes, and dorky aesthetics. They only made this game for the people who keep things weird in Portland. Forget having anything if you're into streetwear, want genuine goth/emo styles, want dark acidemia, middle America country or the mood of your game to fit different places like cold bleak vibes, NOPE, you're getting hotdog pattern t-shirts, ugly sweaters with holes in them, and 1k more rainbow pattern everything, because basic and neutral apparently makes them breakout in hives 🙄 This stupid game feels like it was made for adults who think they're in kindergarten, even streamers who play this game talk to their audience like they're teachers addressing 7 year olds like lilsimsie....... God i want a normal game that don't push this cornball infantile nonsense!

That really sucks about the kit. I hate how they only show one swatch when you look up what the kit/pack has in it. Sometimes I don't feel like watching a whole review (unless it's something I'm already hyped about) so it would be nice to see it all laid out. I didn't think they did a very good job on that kit, to be honest. I looked it up when it came out and there was a pair of boots I really liked and those leather arm cover things. But other than that, it seemed kinda basic. And the lipstick swatch didn't really make sense to me. We already have the ability to do black lipstick so I don't understand why they wasted an "item" on that. I didn't know they included rainbow swatches of stuff in it. That's why I really dislike the way they advertise their kits/packs. They show one swatch for each item and that's it.

Oh that's a really, really good point too. I didn't even think about the cultural aspects of the game. Besides the clothes, furniture, Bindi and face paint (like you mentioned) there's also the food. Apparently they got a very important dish associated with the For Rent pack wrong. A lot of people were upset about it. But I think they were made aware pretty early and worked to fix it right away. Hopefully whenever The Sims 5 comes out, they start the game with all of these more positive aspects.

Your stare going back and forth from watching them toss and turn and then back to the energy bar... Like they may as well be sleeping on the floor. lol And so far, I would have to agree that The Sims 3 definitely seems to be more random than The Sims 4. I really don't understand the zombies. Like it's genuinely thrown me for a loop here. I have to know, WHY are they here?! And in what world do zombies get to go back to being human? Being turned into a zombie is supposed to be an automatic "game over" situation. There's no coming back from that. It's hurting my head! 😂 I loved the random cockatoo. Birds should have been added with the Cats And Dogs pack (should have been a pet pack not just cats and dogs) in The Sims 4. Otherwise, no idea why the zombies are there (but can’t interact with them) or why they turn back into humans at sunrise. Think you mentioned it, like they aren’t werewolves (which is a temporary state, according to the ‘rules/lore’ about werewolves). Maybe someone thought it’d be fun to add zombies, they added a zombie, then forgot all about it. Unless they keep shifting realities, or it was a zombie costume, or there’s some new type of zombie. Otherwise it’ll just be one of those ‘The Sims 3’ mysteries. re: ‘I loved the random cockatoo. I've definitely bought UA-camr merch, myself. And 100% it was because it felt good supporting them and because I genuinely liked the items I picked. Haven't bought much because as you stated, the merch is overpriced. EA definitely doesn't need our money. The fact they are charging as much as they are is kind of disgusting to me. I almost had a heart attack looking at that basic plastic water bottle for $50. 😱😬 I'm sorry that, that stupid little shopping cart has thrown you off so much that you don't want to play even though it's not doing anything anymore. That really sucks. 🙁 EA is killing this game.

Oh, absolutely. The gameplay definitely gets stale after awhile. Whenever that happens I tend to try and spark some creativity by building something based on characters in my head or a house based on a certain time period. Or go for packs that would cause me to get out of my "comfort" zone. Or shell challenges I find on Instagram. Although lately I've mostly been playing older entries of the Sims. Mostly Sims 3 because it's the one I'm the least familiar with. And also because Sims 2 is still not running great on my pc and my eyeballs can only take so much poking around online to find fixes. lol And I suppose you're right about UA-cam simmers not being a good measure of that divide of CAS/building/gameplay. Although there are some people who have stated they heavily prefer one aspect and are not at all interested in the other aspects of the game. Simproved has said a few times that she loves to build and that's all she really cares about. That's why she deep dives into debug with every new pack. I love those videos. How often do you see people showcasing an aspect of the pack that most people would never have even given a second thought to? And I know what you mean about James Turner. I love watching him build based around a storyline or characters he's going to be using but his LP's I can't really get into. And I agree with you. Even if you strongly prefer one aspect of the game versus others, they all still matter in some way. Like I suck at CAS and it frustrates me but I also couldn't just play with a randomly generated character. Or random traits.

@@GG_JoJo I feel we vibe a lot, My CAS skills are not top notch and I renovate more than build. I actually like doing community lots more than houses tbh. Not neccessarily good at them but I like making things to do and places for my Sims to go in a neighborhood. I also forget numbers two seconds after I just looked at them 😅. I don't tackle them as often as houses though, because trying to split up interiors is probably my biggest hurdle. I don't know how having more space to work with makes things so much more difficult but somehow it does. Lol And that number situation is a whole thing, let me tell ya.... And honestly with how greedy EA is getting with The Sims 4, they are making that game less and less appealing. I'm having so much fun exploring the older stuff right now. And very interested in the new simulation games that are going to be coming out. They don't look quite as polished as The Sims but this is their first run at it. I'm sure over time they'll have things looking beautiful. And maybe we'll actually get to play a new simulation game that isn't riddled with bugs and glitches. 🤷‍♀️ Lol I'm not gonna lie though, even if those new simulation games suck, I'm still having so much fun with the older versions of the sims. Newer isn't always better. 🙂

To be fair though, I would have enjoyed it regardless. I enjoy your style of reviewing things. You get to see what's in the pack while also enjoying a little show too. And I am glad that there are people reviewing the new packs too. That way, if I were ever curious but was on the fence, I can see if it's worth it or not. It’s only odd that they don’t have little hairbands with a light-up plumbob (unless they do) for Halloween - they’d sell a ton if reasonably priced. Literally no one is happy with the UI addition, so there’d definitely be a mod. There are some awesome mods out there. What’s sad is that a lot of them are actually necessary to solve problems that EA introduced. It’d be no fun at all to play on console. One upside is that their mods don’t break with every update, which is a pain. Otherwise there’s very little upside. Although - some people do actually prefer to play games on console. Say that’s like half their players - EA probably shouldn’t be pushing UI additions that can’t be modded out. re: ‘I agree with you 100% though. There are enough ads on television, radio, UA-cam and other social media sites/apps, everywhere. It’s fair enough to have the entire front page of the game full of stuff to buy. If a plausible competitor shows up, EA would have to ‘up their game.’

@@FiresideSims Oh, 100% they saw Etsy selling Sims 4 merchandise and decided they might as well be making money on it too. Sad thing is, Etsy sellers are doing it better. I was hoping they'd have little figures of the classic townies like the Goths, Pancakes, Landgraabs... Or figures of the cowplant, Bonehilda, Grim? None. No little figures. I think your idea of the light up plumbob hairbands would have been a good one for their first launch. And the jewellery is what they just added so that was spot on that you mentioned that. Lol And in regards to people reviewing packs, it's not so much the seeing all the items as much as it is to see all of the different swatches. They show all of the items on the info page but they don't include all swatches for each item. And usually with packs that include new gameplay, you get to see if it's a buggy mess or if they actually got all the kinks worked out before releasing it. That's not something you get to see on the info page either. lol And 👋 I'm one of those people that actually enjoyed the console gameplay more. I literally only got it for pc because of cc and mods. And the fact that they EPICALLY destroyed the controls for console. Like they completely ruined gameplay because of what they did with the controller set-up. I don't know why they went and completely messed with everything when literally no one was complaining about the set-up. Of all the things people have been BEGGING them to fix, the console controls that no one was complaining about is what they decided would be a good thing to "work" on? Omg I'm getting SO worked up just thinking about it right now. 🤣 I need to chill. The fact that I'm still this passionately pissed off about it is a little concerning. Lol And absolutely agree. We are already constantly being bombarded with ads. Every type of media. There's no shortage. And they already have ads on the front page. Had inadvertently gone into a TED Talk, so just trimmed out the bits not immediately and specifically relevant to what you were saying, and updated it. Know it's just a comment on UA-cam, but would be bothered if it was distracting for your ADHD, because you're always lovely. Realized was not sticking to the topic, but already off the path and wandering through the woods in several directions at the same time. If a topic is interesting enough, could easily ramble around for hours, as well. When all that was directly relevant was to provide confirmation that, yes, was listening attentively and heard everything you had to say (and do agree, by the way). Actually, you tend to wander off the path, as well - but just find it entertaining and interesting. Like when you interrupted yourself to go get a tape measure to scientifically measure this plushie, it was logical and hilarious at the same time.

Nah, legit, it is kicking my butt even now. 😅 Like 3 hours in and everyone is just getting to level 4 or something ridiculous like that. It's been a couple weeks since I played but I'm pretty sure they are only at level 4. It IS really tough. Either that or I'm just trash at video games. Lol

For 1995 it really wasn't a bad game. Not that I was playing it in 1995, but still. Lol 1995 I was mostly playing Sonic the Hedgehog 2, all the Mortal Kombat games, Super Mario World, Donkey Kong World... There were so many more but those were the main ones. I got hooked on the cartoon series I think in the early 2000's. And so when I saw there was a game, I was SO excited. I knew this video wasn't going to get a lot of love but I wanted to do it anyway. I am an anime nerd and just wanted to see who else out there might connect with it too. Apparently a lot less than I thought. Lol! Thanks for giving it a shot even though you had no idea what it was about. 😊 And thank you for visiting in general. Oh yeah, 100%. That definitely helps narrow things down a bit for sure. My problem is that I get bored really easily. I'm definitely a gameplay person. I can get caught up in building too but my eyesight is really bad so it's not as enjoyable as it could be. And I suck at CAS so I have kind of given up on myself on that front. Lol So what ends up happening with me is I inadvertantly have the same sort of gameplay over and over again. My strategy to break that up a bit has been to go for packs that don't necessarily "call" to me, just to have a little more variety in my gameplay. Thank goodness for cc but what about console players, right? Console players are really at EA's mercy. 😕

For me Sims is where I get to be a character so it's less about what I am interested in IRL and more how my characters adventures can be expanded in game, so it is complicated for me. I judge each pack on its worth in furthering my characters stories.

😊 yeah I moved Lola to Twinbrook. I started a LP with her there. I didn't realise you needed a mod to be able to move your Sims between worlds and keep all of their history the same. I guess I thought it worked the same as the Sims 4. So she's the same Sim but she doesn't have her gf anymore, unfortunately. Thank you for the feedback. I need all the help I can get. Lol

Lol I did a bad job explaining the tree situation. It was that patch of grass at the front of the lot that you have no control over. That little section on the other side of the "pavement." There is a lot in The Sims 4 in Newcrest that has the same issue. Where there's a tree on that patch of land in front of the lot that is just completely obstructing your view while you try to build and there's absolutely nothing you can do about it. I don't know why they wouldn't have just shifted the tree over a bit so it wasn't taking up so much of the view of the lot. 🤦🏻‍♀️ It's a shame too because on that first lot, the neighbours house was beautiful. The house next to the new lot is not as pretty. So our view isn't as nice but at least it's an unobstructed view, I guess. Lol And apparently that stupid time traveler shows up on every new save. I didn't realize you needed a mod to be able to move your sim to a new world and keep their history intact. So I didn't fully grasp that I had started an actual new save even though it said new save. I thought I was just starting up a new world and would be able to move her over? I don't know. My mind is scrambled. Sometimes I do things without fully registering what it is that I'm doing because there's just so much bouncing around of information just constantly rushing through my thoughts. Or I'll read something but it doesn't register at the time I'm reading it and then just randomly through the day (sometimes not even the same day lol) I'll just recall the memory of me reading something and THEN it'll sink in. It's exhausting. lol Thank you for the reassurance with the audio. It was stressing me out so much because all the fixes I found online weren't doing anything to correct the issue. And thank you! The puppy is doing really well. He's starting to look like a real dog, now that he's not just a skeleton with fur. ❤️

@@GG_JoJo- Oh, know what you mean. There’ll be some huge tree in the most inconvenient place possible on the lot. Like why is that tree right there, did no one playtest this. Your take on it in the episode is cute, like - see this tree right here (helpful arrow), bet you can see this tree from the other side of the moon, who put this here on purpose. Actually, there’s some huge tree right in front of this lot we’re filming next. Not sure if possible to remove the tree from that patch (the one you mention) with T.O.O.L. mod or not, but might give that a try. Well, that’s a bummer. No idea why it’s set up that way, like you lose all your progress that you spent time on - but the time traveler will be there to follow you everywhere. If he’s a time traveler it’d be useful if he’d restore the first part of the game. Actually, that’d be an interesting option, like if the time traveler was the menu for various save points. Too esoteric for EA, but it’d sure come in handy. The audio worked out just fine, no worries. Yes, audio can be one of the most frustrating things to fix, if something is off while filming. It’s just so finicky. Nice to hear the pup is doing well, that’s lovely.

Honestly it stumped me too but I think it's one of those "job" vs career type things. But I could be totally wrong. The game whisked me away to university before I could actually see what the options were. 😂

This is SUCH a FUN idea! You really are so much fun! I love this! 😃 I am totally gonna try this out. I finally figured out why certain mods I had downloaded weren't working (Resource.cfg file was missing) and then after I sorted out that nonsense I went a bit ham with some of the mods. Lol Thank you so much for this amazing idea, Fireside! And thanks so much for popping in. I always look forward to hearing from you. ☺️

I just filmed the first episode of the LP today 😊 I don't know if I just messed up or if you can't just up and move your sim to a new town and keep their history the same? I moved Lola and she's still the same but I no longer have my gf. I'm kinda sad about it but it's ok. She gets a new beginning I guess. 🤷‍♀️ Lol

Honestly, yu chose the laggiest world in the sim 3. It's a good thing yur starting over in a different one. I really think yul like the game and I for one can't wait to see yu play some more.@@GG_JoJo

I still feel The Sims 2 has the best textures of all of the games. That's for sure. And I would say so far it's probably been my favourite. But I REALLY enjoyed this small amount of gameplay from The Sims 3. What is it about TS3 that you're not really liking? I think initially when I had installed it (way back when), I gave up on it really fast once it was lagging. I didn't even try to figure out what I could do to fix the lag and I think it's because the Sims just looked too robotic or robot like. Back then I just was so used to them looking more cartoonish that the lifelike nature of them was a bit off-putting. I'm excited to play TS3 a bit more now though. Now that their faces don't scare me as much and the lag isn't a thing 😂

@@GG_JoJo So in 2009 I had a 6 year old gaming PC that was top of the line when I bought it and still very far above specs for TS3. It crashed about once an hour, plus I felt my Sims weren't accomplishing anything. I even eventually got 3 EPs (Generations, World Adventures and University) thinking I'd enjoy some different aspects. Of course, that increased the crashing. Coupled with the fact that in 2009 I was very literally fighting for my life (I'm well now), it was probably a perfect storm for disliking the game. But I have tried it every now and then just to try to give it fair shake. Once just within the last month. I think the slow moving nature of the game gets me the most. My most recent character just aged up to an adult and even though the only thing I did with her was go to work and work on skills at home, she is woefully poorly skilled. I'm sure there are ingame skill enhancers like in TS2 and TS4, but I couldn't earn enough points to buy anything. Plus, as you say, the Sims were not the cute anime look that we enjoy in TS2 and TS4. But I will likely boot it up again in the future, play for a couple hours and then not touch it for months. I've really tried to like the game.

I'm glad you recovered! Major health issues can cause some severe trauma. I can see how that would kind of leave a bad taste in your mouth. You're playing a game that is supposed to help you relax and focus on something else to ease your anxiety and instead you were dealing with frustration from it not running properly on top of everything else you were going through. The "grinding" in all of the Sims games is the biggest irritation for me too. The only one that has a saving grace is in The Sims 4 with Tiny Living. The whole classing your home as a micro or tiny home makes your skill building just fly by. Living in a micro home just to get this advantage can get annoying but at least it's starts you off decently and then eventually you just upgrade and move on.

@@GG_JoJo I've taken to making hacked microhomes. Beautiful large ranch style homes that only have 32 tiles "officially." I have LP's on my channel where I show these if you haven't tried building those. But also, don't forget Get Together. I have TS4 Sims in clubs full time (unless playing a base game only save that I would do for added challenge). Even without mood trainers, I still find it less laborious in TS2 and TS4 than in TS3. You do have to be careful with club setting though. Even if you don't have a club vibe of playful or highest comradery, it can send your Sim into hysterics very easily. The stars of my LP's have died 3x 😆😆😆 Plus, if you raise your sims from toddlerhood and really raise them (all 4 base kid aspirations and scouting to Llamacorn) it increases their skill rate even more! And of course lot traits are beneficial as well.

Once you download a bunch of mods to fix it, it runs somewhat better. 🤦🏻‍♀️ Lol! They are all kind of buggy. (All the Sims games) I do love them all though. 🙂
